Ananta was gazing at the festivities in town and turned to listen to the man in gold armor. She watched Aislinn speak and then turned to Luna, waving at her. Ananta turned back and listened to Phoebus. "Notre Dame sounds pretty amazing. I'd love to see it." she said to him, kind of giving a courtsy. "Goodness, I think we forgot to introduce ourselves. My name is Ananta. My friend here is named Aislin.." she pointed at Aislinn. "And this lost one is named Luna. We come from a neighboring city, so yes we are new to all these festivities. Honestly, they are the reason we are even here." Ananta chuckled. "But you mentioned a Judge Frollo? Have you perhaps tried checking the tents or asking other guards around here? They seem to know a lot more than the average person. Besides, they might treat you and your horse to some food and water. You seem kind of famished." Ananta suggested. "But I digress, please. Where may we find Notre Dame?" Ananta asked, smiling softly at Captain Phoebus.
Daeni may not have been able to assist in ending Ria's tyranny, but she got to bask in the glory of...a lot of memories returning and making her head hurt. "I don't like this, I don't like these memories just coming back...what if they aren't even real...." she said to herself. "I don't want them to be fake, but I bet they may just be....still." She looked up at the group and smiled, sighing with content. "It feels like they're real...that's enough for me." she nodded, stepping towards Kara. She then heard Kara call Cerdic a...well...dick. "Oh my god, haha. Sir Dick. That's beautiful. I love it." Daeni started to laugh at Cerdic. "But it's okay, he's still...somewhat lovable." she shrugged. Looking at Kara, Daeni patted her shoulder. "Hey Kara, I think I remembered something. When I woke up, I remembered the last person I talked to being my best friend of the group...and honestly, I'm getting that vibe from you?? I might be really wrong and mistaken, but I kinda think we were best friends in the group before this." she commented, smiling at Kara with a little tinge of blush on her freckled face.
"Defeat the monster...save the man..." Ananta blinked at the mission. "Sounds easy enough, but seems kind of....specific? Maybe it'll be harder though." she said, looking at Aislinn entering the portal. "Guess I'll talk to her while I'm there." she said, stepping into the portal after her. Upon appearing, Ananta looked to Aislinn to get one question across. "Before we begin, this mission seems like it's gonna try to trick us I think...so be careful, okay?" she said, nodding at her. "But still, it seems just right for us, huh?"
Everything happened so fast, Daeni had no time to react. So she was left to watch several comrades get struck down or get injured badly enough. She herself was lucky to not be harmed, but that didn't make her feel any better. "Dammit, this sucks." she said out loud, glancing to see Alder and Relli busying themselves with healing everyone....but Cerdic. Okay, Cerdic was a jerk and didn't treat anyone with an ounce of respect but himself. Daeni knew she probably shouldn't have healed him first, but she didn't want to be down another fighter in case something happened. So, she shambled over to Cerdic and knelt down. She used both her hands and held them over Cerdic's chest. "Cure!" she called out, feeling the warmth come forth and flow into Cerdic. She got up and looked at him, watching him to see if he was alright enough. She didn't get much time to watch, since a heartless was annoying her. It didn't hurt her, it just annoyed her. So she decided to end it's pitiful existence before it had any other chances to annoy her. Besides, she was a little upset with their kind right now considering she wasn't able to protect Relli earlier. That made her feel terrible, since she felt like she could have done so much more. Speaking of that, she turned and looked at Cerdic once more and gave him one last heal. "You're welcome." she said. She got up and blinked. A strange little light had appeared in front of her. "What?" she said, standing up and reaching forward. She was curious what this light was. Though she pulled her hand back quickly. "It....might be bad though..." she told herself. "....Well, I haven't been knocked out yet." she took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing." Daeni then reached forward and touched the light, curious where it would lead her. Although she was saved, Daeni was far from the danger. In fact, after Kara left, Daeni reached her hand out in an attempt to keep her from running. Daeni was scared and hurting badly from the attack. Her body felt torn up and she had no way to tell if she was really bleeding or it just felt like it. No, wait, she wasn't bleeding. It just felt that way from the heartless' darkness that seeped onto her body as it was slain. Daeni managed to sit up with a little help from Relli and she looked at them. "I...I'm sorry....I don't think I can really do much right now." she said, sniffling and whimpered. Breathing hurt and Daeni was scared to move right now. If only she could do something to make her pain go away. "Cure...." she mumbled, sniffling again. In her hand, a little bit of cure magic sputtered out, touching her body and causing her to blink. "H-Hey...wait...Cure...that...that's a spell I think. That's magic and I think...I think I can use that to help myself?" she said, pressing her hands against her. "Ok....Okay....Cure!" she called out. Nothing happened and Daeni almost wanted to cry. "Please...please....work..." she begged, pressing harder and feeling the pain intensify. "Cure!" she tried once more. It didn't work and she started to lose faith. "I can't...I can't..." she gasped, coughing a bit. "I can't even cast Cure..." she said. Suddenly, the magic came out of her hands and poured into her body. Daeni started to feel better and attempted to stand up. She looked to Relli and smiled. "Thank you for coming to help." she said, an unsure expression on her face. "I'll be...fine now." She may have felt like sitting down longer, but Daeni knew she had to fight. She couldn't stay there laying down and doing nothing. "I don't think I can do this much longer...." she whispered, the tears that didn't fall earlier now threatening to fall. She looked around and saw the rest of them fighting when she saw Marley on the ground, surrounded by heartless. "No!" she gasped out, trying to make her way over to Marley. As she shuffled, Daeni was met with two heartless. She swung at them and found the one was gone in only a few hits. Probably one that was hit earlier by something. She looked at the other and started a combo on it, stopping to block an attack from it. "Get off!" she yelled, finishing it off. The outer perimeter around Marley was dense with heartless and Daeni didn't know if she'd make much a dent, but she decided to try. She managed to defeat two more heartless in the meantime, but she stopped to catch her breath. She still hadn't recovered from that earlier attack and it was showing on her face. Ananta watched Yue start to explain things before a Mr. Kitaniji came along and interrupted, giving his own explanation. While he gave some interesting points, Ananta knew she probably was better off listening to Yue more. Besides, Kitaniji ended up leaving after a bit anyway. Ananta watched a pin get tossed to everyone before she grabbed hers and looked at it. "It's pretty cool looking." she said. It then sort of turned into a keychain too. Resisting the urge to change her keyblade, Ananta looked up at Yue and heard her spout off the partners this round. "Steel." she repeated, looking over at him. She stepped briskly and looked up at him. "After that explanation of the RG and UG, I kinda think you'd be better off in the UG. You're a cool dude with a tail, but...I don't think that'd bode well with a lot of people. Ya know?" she said. "I mean, I'm fine with it and uh...er....bleh..." she sighed, looking crestfallen. "Just go with it, okay?"
"Well, I'm still your friend and honestly, one of the few you can probably talk to extensively. I think. Tell me more about what happened later, okay?" she said to Steel turning towards Yue. "You're a good guy, Steel. Even if you don't look like us." Ananta closed her eyes, letting that light envelope her and change everything around her. She opened her eyes again to see an urban landscape before her. It kind of reminded her of home, but a lot more densely populated. People were there, but they seemed to just ignore the group. "Huh, this place is....strange." Ananta said, looking at everyone else. She wondered who was probably way out of their comfort zone. Things were way more advanced than they could ever have hoped for on their own worlds. Even if this place was behind Ananta's world, it still was different and a shock compared to what she was used to. First off, there was a crosswalk and not just walkways. Cars drove by occasionally, but were mostly stopped by these crosswalks and people and signs everywhere. Ananta was surprised they actually abide by the citizens and she was happy for it. Regardless, Ananta shook a little. "This place is weird."
Well, Daeni didn't expect Cerdic to just shove her out, but she didn't protest it. No, she just fell back onto her butt and watched him. She watched him fell 4 heartless easily and swoosh out of the circle of them without even losing his composure. Suffice to say, Daeni was impressed and honestly didn't realize he was just doing this for shits and giggles anyway. A crush was starting to form. A one-sided crush that was probably a bad thing in the first place. Whatever, Daeni didn't care. She could crush on whoever she wanted to, regardless of age difference. Standing up, Daeni moved back to Relli and kept her back to him. She knew he was fine on his own now and she didn't need him telling her otherwise. But she still wanted to be nearby somebody that was nice enough to give her the time of day. Hopefully, he would actually do that and not ignore her. Just as she sighed and shook her head, Daeni opened her eyes and saw a heartless bumrush towards her. Daeni slashed sideways and dispatched of it, grinning to herself. Two more heartless came and they were both easily dispatched. Not like Daeni wasn't trying to make things fun for herself, but what could she do? All she knew was to slash them and watched them reel. Seeing a small gap in the heartless by Ria, Daeni started to think to herself. "Just because Ria bolstered his...her....whatever. Just because they bolstered their heartless defense, doesn't mean they are impervious, right?" she blinked, watching Ria again. She saw a tiny gap....a gap just big enough for a heartless to maybe fly through and thwack Ria. That gave Daeni an idea. Getting into position, Daeni prepared herself. She stood in one spot and planted her feet. She held her keyblade up like a bat and waited for a heartless to bite. One heartless did bite and it hopped up, ready to slash her. Daeni was prepared and thwacked it with her keyblade, flinging it towards Ria and nearly hitting them. Luckily, it missed and splattered against the wall behind Ria. "Damn...just barely missed Ria..." Daeni muttered. She stepped back to Relli and turned her head. "Pst...Relli....look at Ria. You can sometimes see a spot where things can go through. Makes me think there's some kind of a glitch going on here." she said, bringing this to their attention. Unbeknownst to Daeni, a heartless charged her and managed to knock her down. Not able to defend herself, Daeni was struggling to get the heartless off of her as it began to maul her. Word Count: 439 BP Spent: 20 Heartless Killed: 4 Heartless remaining: 150
She stood back and watched all the heartless as they started to glitch out and create small holes in Ria's defense. That was odd, considering they inflicted some very real wounds on them. Now that Daeni was done gawking at the heartless, she turned to see Cerdic having a rather....hard time...defending himself. Daeni laughed to herself and watched him as she waited to see if perhaps helping him was a very good idea. Of course it was, since a damned bird made him freak out and run away. He even hit himself with his own keyblade, so that didn't help much. Daeni stepped forward and stood in front of Cerdic. "I know you're a manly man, but you look like you just hit your head pretty hard, so I'll try to keep these off while you recover." she said, winking at him. Daeni smiled and ran towards the heartless, attacking and destroying one with ease and renewed vigor. It was as if making fun of Cerdic gave her the strength to continue fighting. That's what made Daeni laugh again and shake her head. "He's hopeless." she said to herself, rushing at another heartless and destroying it. Looking to her left and to her right, Daeni spied two heartless who seemed ready to both strike at once. Daeni waited for them to come closer. Her head started to remember something that she had used a few times. She remembered a hot magic that defeated foes and protected her. "Fire." she whispered, watching the ring of fire appearing around her. It struck the two heartless and made them flop back. Daeni was even surprised at that. "That....no, that couldn't....was that magic?" she asked herself, not even believing what she just saw. "Cool!" she laughed, waiting for the same heartless before she spoke out, "Fire!" again and watched them disappear after the fire subsided. Having straightened herself back up, Daeni walked over to Cerdic and looked at him. "Are you okay? You don't look okay to me. Even if you try to be a manly man, after all." she said. "I can try to see if I can think of anything to make you feel better if your head is hurting. Especially after conking yourself with your keyblade." She chuckled after the last part, reaching a hand out with a smile. Unbeknownst to Daeni, a tiny bit of healing magic sputtered out and rained down to the ground, leaving behind little flowers and leaves before they too disappeared into the ground. She seemed to be able to do some healing, but she didn't notice it herself. Word Count: 433 BP spent: 20 Heartless Killed: 4 Heartless remaining: 216
"I've know about this secret for a long time, Steel. Don't you remember?" she asked, tilting her head. "Did you not reveal your secret to me by way of me forcing you to remove your scarf a long time ago?" That was how Ananta remembered it. Whether or not Steel remembered it was all up to him, but he seemed a lot different now. She then watched him hold his tail up. She chuckled at his joke before he finally took off the hood. "You're bad at trying to hide stuff." she said, laughing a little. "In any case, I kept it a secret for a long time, right? So at least you were able to reveal it at your own discretion." she nodded, happy with him. She then watched his tirade towards Karina and got a sense that something happened between them. Something that made Steel lose all faith in Karina, it seemed. Ananta watched Karina leave and for a moment, she had no idea what to say. Finally, the words came to her. "I'll see you again!" she called, waving her arm at Karina. Turning back to Steel, Ananta put her hand on his shoulder and patted it. "It's okay, don't worry about Karina. She can handle herself now, I think." she said. "But, are you going to be okay, Steel? Your reaction sort of worries me, honestly..."
Upon hearing Cerdic, Daeni gripped her keyblade and turned back to him. "You're a jerk! I'm no child!" she said to him, hitting his arm. "I'm freaking 18." she mumbled towards him, turning her eyes away. She turned back to Relli to see how they were doing. She was surprised to see how quickly they dispatched of the heartless and that caused her to blush in embarrassment. She should have known they were talented and didn't need protecting. She didn't know how badly she had offended Relli, so when she saw how angry they were, she sort of stood back and watched the others for a moment. She didn't know if fighting more was a good idea, but she looked up and met the eyes of a nearby heartless. Danei held her keyblade up and glared at the heartless. She then ran towards it, swinging her keyblade wildly until the heartless was gone. She had no intention of letting a single heartless thing get away. She didn't even know if that was the right name or word for them. In her head, it felt like something that made sense and was the right thing to say, so she decided to call them that. She wouldn't utter that word unless she heard it from somebody else. Didn't want to be wrong, after all, right? Chuckling, Daeni shook her head. She stepped towards a heartless and immediately stabbed it with her keyblade, watching it disappear. "These things are pretty easy..." she mumbled, dodging a swipe from another. "But they're still erratic...gotta be careful." Daeni didn't want to be attacked again like before. That really hurt and she was actually scared of the pain. In that moment, a heartless decided to rush her, feeding off of her being scared. Daeni cried out and defended herself with her keyblade. She retaliated by shoving it back and swinging at it a few times. A final heartless rushed forward to replace the one she had just slain. Daeni was prepared and again dodged the attack. This time, the heartless swung back towards where Daeni had dodged and nearly swiped. Daeni gasped, thinking she had been hit. Instead, it was just a small scrape, no pain, just a quick coldness. Daeni looked up at this heartless and didn't even think a moment before she threw her keyblade forward and grabbed it back once it flicked back to her. "WH...What did I just do?" she asked out loud. Ananta stepped forward after the book appeared and watched it open up like magic with just a touch of the keyblade. She chuckled at Gwendolyn and patted her head. "It's okay, don't be embarrassed." Ananta said. "I assure you, we don't mind. That's what we're here for. Now, let me look at the book with you." Ananta started to flip through and was amazed at all the things. She was even amazed at the fact that the time she saw Steel's secret was there...but that was something she hadn't told anyone. So how was it in this book? Speaking of that, Ananta looked up and glanced at Steel. She stared at him for a long moment before she walked over to him. "Steel, you look....a lot different now...sort of like how I saw you way back when...except clearer and not covered in darkness. Did this happen because of your awakening?" she asked, tilting her head. "It fits you."
"Relli, please. Stay back...if you're a really a prince, we have to protect you." Daeni said, summoning her keyblade into her right hand, holding her left hand up to her side. She watched the others fight and soon found herself face to face with her first shadow. Nervous, Daeni just swung her keyblade haphazardly and smacked the shadow. It was caught off guard and stumbled a bit, but it returned to looming and glaring at her. Daeni gulped and decided to just attack it now, thwacking it and sending it flying. It happened to knock into another shadow and caused both of them to be poofed before she even had a chance to attack it. "Well, that's two down but I dunno if I'm any good at this?" she mumbled to herself, questioning her ability. It didn't take her much longer before she stopped and watched how easily the others were able to dispatch of their own shadows. That made Daeni think about herself. She thought about how she was able to fight before with this keyblade. The more she thought, the more it made her head hurt. She didn't want to think about it, but she figured it'd help her out, even if she didn't magically start to attack the heartless adeptly. She was knocked out of her thoughts by a shadow violently scratching her back. Daeni shrieked and fell forward, stumbling into Cerdic. "S-Sorry." she said, turning back around and attacking the heartless that managed to get her. She fought with it, exchanging swings before she was able to overcome it and destroy it. She watched it disappear into a puff of black smoke, leaving her with a pain in her back. "Th....That hurt..." she mumbled. She touched her back where the shadow hit her and found no marks, just the pain of being attacked. Daeni sighed and shook her head, staring at a shadow and starting to attack it relentlessly. She looked like she was mad at the heartless for even existing. She just couldn't accept that she was attacked by one so easily. She was scared, sure, but she was also not above attacking the ones that haven't even attacked her yet. Yet. That's the word that made her attack it. She didn't want to give it another chance to attack her. She was too scared of what would happen next time. She didn't want to feel that pain again. Daeni was not happy with the events that were unfolding in front of her. First they were by some cliffs and then a hooded figure that called themselves Ria started to threaten them. Daeni kept quiet, knowing it was best for the time. But when Ria started to directly threaten them, summoning darkness and....a broken keyblade. Their keyblade was broken and looked worthless. Daeni sort of laughed to herself and only stopped when she saw the darkness swirl into some sort of creatures that looked ready to kill. "Ria, you're full of it!" Daeni shouted towards them. "You won't do anything. You're just all talk!" Then, the fact that Ria kept calling that machine way back in the cave some sort of extractor, started to make Daeni think. She was quiet a moment before she turned to Relli. "Relli....you know how Ria keeps calling that weird machine an extractor?" she started. "I think I know what it extracted...but it's gonna sound weird. What if....what if it extracted our memories? To make us forget something bad that happened? Does it sound farfetched, cuz I think it does, I mean, really...memory extraction? Sounds impossible to me." she chuckled.
Listening carefully to everything that was just said, Ananta gulped and looked around at everyone. There were a lot of people that she could possibly end up partnering with, just like Yue and her partner. Ananta didn't really hate anybody in the group, but maybe some small dislike for the ones that had rubbed her in the wrong way. But that doesn't mean she'd fight with them if they ended up as partner's and had to get out of here together. Besides, maybe she could resolve any longing quarrels with them. It also didn't help that she listened to the explanation of what a Master was. It reminded her of her Grandmother and how she passed her own keyblade onto Ananta. She tingled remembering being so afraid of the trial, but she then remembered all the times she had that were fun. It's not like she was being expected to start slaying hundreds of behemoth's like her Grandmother wanted....this was just going to be an exam to see how well she'd fare being a master, right? "Okay, I'm up for it. I wanna be a keyblade master." Ananta said. "I've got a lotta reasons for wanting this. Lots more than I can even describe. So sign me up." she said, stepping forward from the group.
Daeni listened to Relli and nodded at the kid. "Nice to meetcha. But I bet it's not the first time..." she chuckled. When offered a hand, Daeni almost took it before she heard Cerdic start to make comments about a mirror. She really wanted to reply to him, but soon enough, Xen spoke up and seemed a bit more fun to talk to. "Nice to meet you, too." she smiled. "At least you can see better now that I found your glasses." She nodded at him, making a motion at her own eyes in respect to Xen's glasses. "Even if the darkness wasn't a problem, you probably have the best sight of everyone." Just as she finished saying that, the entire cave rumbled. It felt like something hit the ceiling of the cave or mountain or whatever they were in. It surprised Daeni and caused her to stumbled a bit into Relli. She gripped onto them for only a moment before she stared up at the darkness. The way it swirled and moved caused a great uneasiness in her. She felt like if she didn't leave now, the entire cave was going to fall on her and that was something she wasn't willing to experience. Doing the first thing that came to her mind, Daeni grabbed Xen's hand and then Relli's. "Okaytimetogoguyscomeon." she said hurriedly as she followed the others that had already started to run forward.
Ananta watched Karina's face twist strangely before she turned away. That actually hit a nerve with Ananta and made her feel bad. It's as if all this time, Karina really and truly didn't give a damn that Ananta was trying to help her. Of course, Ananta knew that was the truth, but the way Karina looked at her just...sort of stabbed her heart. And then her heart shattered into a million pieces before Karina stomped on the pieces and turned away. Not wanting to stick around with Karina, Ananta walked over to Beuce and was able to hear him make a speech to that Yue girl. Ananta actually clapped at Beuce after that and listened to the whole conversation that went down. Poor Hikaru was lost and asking questions. It was still weird thinking of him as Hikaru and not Krowley, as previous, and so when she even saw him like this...that was a hard pill to swallow for her. She'd get used to it, sure. But for the moment, it was all still new. Yawning, Ananta crossed her arms and listened to Yue tell them the way they were going to take their Mark of Mastery exam. It sounded exciting and Ananta honestly could not wait to get started. Especially since her dream was to become a keyblade master for quite some time. "I'm ready whenever you guys are." she said.
Daeni listened to Relli and felt her tears start to fade away as she nodded. "Things will be okay...hopefully." she muttered to herself before taking a deep breath. "I'm Daeni." She looked up to Kara and listened to her make her point. Daeni saw Kara's face go red and she figured that maybe she was just embarassed by all of this attention she was drawing. Sort of like Daeni was when she hid behind Relli. In any case, Daeni moved a little next to Relli. "How about we introduce ourselves properly. That way, we don't just call each other by our pin numbers?" she suggested. "I'm Daeni. My pin's number VI and I dunno what it means." she said, her hand raised for the duration of her tiny introduction.
