Oujia boards are not exactly 'dark objects', but they are dangerous because what ghosts they pull out are completly random. You could get an unharmful spirit, or something that could start fires. Thats why they are dangerous.

It probabley was real, and you shouldn't do that again. Oija boards can summon poltergists and other nasty spirits that you really don't want. I've heard a personal experiance from a friend, and the story was downright creepy. OIJA BOARDS ARE EVIL!!
