I understand being non-confrontational and all, especially if it's a small business, but I doubt the guy's going to stay up at night because a <$5 book had to be replaced because of a defect, especially since he can probably just send it back to the supplier for a refund, himself. Defective products go back to the source.

Of course, I don't really expect him to really pursue that, might be just too much trouble.

Unless you intend to make a big stink about it, it's not going to be an issue for him, he'll be understanding that stuff like that happens.

But to answer the original question, yeah, just go buy another one if it bothers you that much.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] Ava

could you do it? betray yourself for love?

"Soooo, any of those weddings look like a dream come true to you?" Asked Ava in a playful manner. "I mean, personally, a shark tank wedding is a bit much but, hey." Feall fumbled a bit with a small pillow that decorated the couch for a moment before looking over and cracking a grin. "Actually, the shark tank wedding looks perfect, I can't imagine anything more romantic, unless maybe it involved chainsaw juggling." Feall's face was soon met with a couch pillow. The two talked and laughed for a few hours before Feall's parents got home, who were greeted with a warm welcome.

Dinner at the Isbrea household is always a pleasure, the family has always gotten along. Feall's parents have always loved Ava, as well, often teasing them about the fact that they 'were such a cute couple'. They eventually grew out of it as the years went on, they even seemed to lose hope in the relationship ever blossoming. Despite all of this, they still thought of Ava as the only girl for Feall.

After dinner the two decided to head to bed a bit early so they could talk before falling asleep. The two of them had a habit of staying up fairly late talking on their phones, despite having adjacent rooms. Their ritual was always the same, they would ready themselves for bed independently, then signify they were ready with a soft knock on the shared wall, once both had given the signal, they would call. They would always take turns, tonight was Feall's. He cozied himself in bed and hit call. The two of them talked long into the night, and, as usual, drifted off to sleep to the sound of eachother's breathing.

could you do it? betray yourself for love?

Feall is currently living with his parents, just a few hours out from Fortissimo, due to the quarantine forcing him out of his dorm room. Ava May Thompson, his childhood friend, is staying with his family for the same reason. The two of them are in his kitchen, cooking lunch. They are alone, as his parents are both working.

"Can you check on the oven, I'm afraid the food is going to burn." Said Ava, making a motion with her head toward the oven. "Sure, oh, they're just perfect now!" Feall cheerfully said, carefully removing the food from the over, making sure not to burn himself. The duo worked in tandem like a choreographed dance hurriedly mixing, pouring, placing, and stacking things. They loved to cook together, and after the years they'd fallen into a smooth rhythm. "Will you hand me the tongs?" Asked Feall. As Ava reached over to hand him the utensil, they slipped out of her hand. Both of them reacted quickly, and reached for the falling tongs. The utensil hit the floor, rattling as it bounced. Feall's face turned bright red for a moment as he looked down to see that Ava had caught his hand instead. The two of them quickly turned away from eachother and continued working in silence. Personal contact had been a bit of a trigger for the past few months, after Ava had attempted to confess her love for Feall. At the time, Feall didn't know how to respond, and ended up pretending not to have heard what she said. Not the smartest decision, as he was looking directly at her at the time. She had taken this as a sign of his lack of interest, but the truth was he loved her in return, but was afraid to admit it.

Finishing up their meal, they sat down at the kitchen table to eat. The silence was getting a bit too awkward for Feall, so he decided to say something. "So what do you think it is, the sickness going around, I mean?" She thought for a moment. "I'm not sure ... I've done some research, but nothing is really matching up. It's weird." She said, trailing off. "I haven't heard anything, either, the symptoms seem so innocuous, but the mortality rate is 100%...it's disturbing. I would think something so deadly would have much more severe symptoms." He began playing with his food a bit more than eating it. "Same. I kind of have a feeling there's something they're not telling us, which I know sounds like something a conspiracy theorist would say, but I don't know. What we know about the virus so far isn't making much sense and now they've holed us all up in one place. I hope they get it sorted out soon. I don't want to be trapped in Percival forever, you know ... My parents are really worried. They wanted me to visit for spring break but, well, here I am ... Err ... I mean, not that being here - with you - is bad, or anything ... Um ..." She began to stutter a bit and nervously began to attempt at trying to look casual as she continued eating. "It's definitely strange...do you think perhaps the government may be hiding something? Like an alien virus, or a new chemical weapon?!" He asked, taking a few small bites of his food. He was teasing her a bit, but he also had a bit of serious concern. He knew that it could be a very real possibility that there was something behind this that...someone wasn't letting the public know. "Pfft, I hope not." She snorted, not taking the question seriously at all. "Well, hey, let's look on the bright side, we're getting to spend a lot of time together outside of school, and the online classes are so hastily thrown together that we're done with them all before the day's half over. Plus my parents don't get home until at least 6 PM...it's..it's sort of like we're an old married couple." He forced a chuckle and continued eating, hoping she'd just let the awkwardness of what he'd just said slide. "... Yeah, it is." She looked at Feall, seemingly as if asking him to continue with the thought. He looked away from her gaze and blushed for a moment before trying to quickly think of something to say. "He-hey, looks like we're done, let's clean up and watch something, what do you say?" She looked at him for a moment and let out a quiet sigh before agreeing. The pair cleaned up the mess they had made in the kitchen and headed out to the living room to see what was on TV.

    Get out.

@Misty, Ah, well when you define luck that way, I suppose so. It seems so silly to get caught up in semantics, but, whatever.

I suppose I'd like to ask for what you mean by "the means". I suppose if it's getting to a better place financially and nobody will hire them, yes. But when it comes to things like mentality, unless someone has an actual mental disorder, and even then, one of the more debilitating ones, I honestly believe that people are capable of overcoming a lot on their own without the need of help.

they just...don't. I suppose you could say they're "lucky enough to get over it themselves" but that's just getting a little absurd at that point. Sometimes you make your own luck.

    Fair enough.

I just find that people are all too eager to look for any reason not to take responsibility for the way they feel/act. And I find that sort of philosophy destructive and not helpful. in the slightest. I'm not out about blaming people for things. I guess you could say I subscribe to Libertarianism.

I believe people have the power to change anything about themselves, to varying degrees, but they're just either too scared or too lazy to try to change.

    I can't even. What?

That's gotta be the most ridiculously excusist reason for avoiding taking responsibility for one's own actions that I've ever heard, it's up there with "the devil made me do" it and "temporary insanity".

You're effectively saying people don't have a choice in anything they do, because every reaction is just a pre-programmed response from their childhood. While someone's childhood does greatly impact a person's paradigm, people always have a choice, even in the way they think about things/za warudo. Bad things can happen to people and it doesn't make them bad, what makes them bad is how they let those bad things affect them and the way they see the world. With the exception of people who actually have real mental illnesses (which, I personally believe, is a much smaller number than most people think), people have more control over their thoughts and feelings than they want to believe they do, it's easier to just say "I can't help it, it's just how I am" and pop some peels to "fix" things and

    Ugh ugh ugh.

I need to not start this. I don't want to get into another huge discussion right now.

Plums, be my friend, I'm going into psychology, myself.

Just a quick addendum before I run away from the discussion like a little *****.

I find that not to be the case a lot. Unfortunately a great deal of people simply enjoy wallowing in their own misery because it's easier than trying to make a change for the better.

Sam was voiced by Jared, Dean was voiced by someone else and I stopped watching halfway through the first episode because Jared isn't a voice actor and Dean sounded nothing like Dean but it's been proven that JENSEN IS A GOOD VOICE ACTOR SO WHY?
