Yet again her hair was ruffled and yet again Daeni puffed her cheeks in response. "Okay okay, enough with the hair thing..." she mumbled, following after Cerdic. She listened to Cerdic and nodded in agreement. Except that last part about strong men. She punched Cerdic in the arm and grumbled. "Don't even start." she retorted, looking at Mora hold her side in pain. "Hey, wait a second, come here. Show me." she demanded, grabbing Mora's arm. Suddenly, more shadow heartless appeared and Daeni knew she had to protect Mora for the time being. "Let me see your injury. Now." she continued urging Mora. "I have to see how bad it is so I can try to help. Cerdic!" Daeni called, looking over. "You do your best or I'll kick you!"
"Do I need to be bait when there's two bigger meals running off?" Ananta questioned. "I mean, I'm safer here, right?" She didn't really want to be bait, all things considered, but she sighed and flew off of Aux's head. "I'll be back, keep your hat warm." Ananta called back teasingly to Aux. She joined Kaida and Aislinn shortly after and participated in the very odd dance. After what seemed like a good enough time and, surprisingly, grabbing enough attention, they all started to run off, trying to distract the enemies. "SO how far do we run?" she asked, flapping her wings.
Daeni continued to watch Mora closely, raising an eyebrow when the girl started to lug a larger rock out of the way. Her eyes widened when she saw Mora just simply go flying off the edge. She turned away when she heard a loud thud. Hearing Mora's voice once more caused Daeni to turn her head quickly to see the girl barely able to hang on. Of course Cerdic rushed over. Daeni decided maybe she ought to help, so she walked over quickly, but she didn't run. Leaning down, Daeni peered over the edge to see exactly how far down this chasm was. "I hope...that was the rock I heard...." she said. She leaned back and gripped at Cerdic's leg to keep him from even thinking of falling down. "No, I won't let you go. I'm...strong enough I think...." she said.
Sign me the heck up.
Following Mora, Daeni hurried along through tall grass. It was a wonder Mora was even able to be seen above the grass, considering her height. Then again, Daeni wasn't exactly tall either. She was just barely taller than Mora without her armor on. Oddly, the armor had heels so it added a couple of inches. They eventually emerged on the other side and found themselves in front of a blocked off cave. It looked familiar and, honestly, Daeni stared a few moments before snapping her fingers. "Oh wait, we've been here before." she said. She then saw Mora step towards the boulders and mentioned moving the rocks. "Oh..." Daeni nodded and walked forward. She grabbed a rock that was up to about her knees and she started to push it aside, grunting and groaning.
Daeni at first shrugged at Cerdic after he declined her offer. She continued to climb better than him before she looked up to see Mora gone from the edge. She then heard what sounded like fighting and she bit her lip. Mora piped up finally and Daeni furrowed her eyebrow, gripping the rocks tightly. She looked to Cerdic and nodded, climbing up quickly with him in tow. She untied the cloth and suddenly a gust of wind blew by. She accidentally let go of the rope and watched it flutter away in the wind, sighing. Daeni felt a hand on her head and looked up at Cerdic, giving him a smile. She finally turned around and summoned her keyblade. Mora was protecting herself well enough, but she unfortunately got hit hard and slipped on the edge. Rushing forward, Daeni reached forward and grabbed Mora by the wrist, pulling her close to Daeni and clutching her to her chest. She looked at Mora and looked scared. "Y...You okay?" she asked, clearly shaken. Shaking her head, she turned back around to the heartless. Her keyblade felt like it was somehow stronger in her arms. Smiling to herself, she fended off the darkballs that aimed for her. Daeni ended up destroying several, watching Cerdic dispatch of a few himself. She too had thoughts of Kara and Chrys, hoping they were at least halfway safe. "What now, Mora?" Daeni asked, glancing to the girl.
Daeni watched Mora shove the door open. The beach and water came into view as the smell of salt filled her nostrils. To her left, Chrys and Kara both headed towards the water on their keygliders. She smiled sadly and waved them off. "We'll meet again! I promise!" she called out. She had a feeling that was a lie, but she had hope. Looking over, she saw Mora call to them about their armor. Alder and Cerdic both donned theirs, while Chrono opted out for now. Daeni reached for her necklace and gripped the pendant, enveloping herself in light. She had to put hers on if she wanted to live up to her own title of a supposed protector. In her mind, she failed, seeing as almost everyone was gone at this point. Opening her eyes once more, she felt armor on her body as she walked past Chrono and started to climb the rocks. But before she went any father, she tore off the cape that came with the armor and tied it around her waist. It was long enough that it trailed past her feet. "Cerdic, if you get too scared...grab the rope." she said. "I'm okay at climbing, but...you're terrible." She looked up to Mora and tilted her head. "But Mora's....surprisingly agile." she said, frowning.
After a long stupor of stunned silence, Ananta finally piped up when Aux questioned them ignoring the giant smokey lion thing in the sky. "Er....yeah...let's just ignore that." she said. "It's uh...yeah, in the past." She shuffled a bit on Aux's head and shuddered. That was one odd experience, for sure. However, Ananta had a feeling that this could also mean that Simba would be a wonderful king. He just had to face the facts, after all. Right now, that meant running back through the barren lands and facing this other king and the hyenas. "So uh...when we get back, will you be okay with fighting the old king?" Ananta asked Simba.
Daeni followed along, looking at the paintings and wondering exactly what they were there for. Then it seemed Mora answered them and she nodded, understanding something about a king and a kingdom. Though she wasn't exactly sure why and she wasn't so sure if she should know, either. Whatever the case, she looked to see Mora's eyes...flashed yellow, for some reason. Blinking, Daeni saw that Mora's eyes weren't glowing and maybe she was just tired after all of the recent events. Either way, she continued on and gulped when they finally found the door. She could get on her glider and leave. She could get out of this world and never come back, hopefully finding herself someplace else. Someplace where she could live out her life and probably do nothing but be a little wife, cooking little meals for her husband all the time. It sounded like something she wanted to do. She walked towards the door and placed her hand on it. Soon enough, she looked ready to cry. "I can't abandon them..." she said to herself. "I want that....that life but..." she turned around to the rest of the group. "I'm not abandoning you guys. Besides, I have to keep Cerdic in line somehow." she joked, cracking a smile as she wiped her tears away.
Ananta listened with amusement at Timon and Pumba. When they spoke about things they CAN do, she heard Aux's comment. "Oh right, also like how I CAN steal your hat but I won't because that'd be rude." she threatened. "I don't even weigh anything anyway..." she murmured. Hikaru's description of what they knew so far was pretty much on par. Then she saw Nala return, looking sullen. "Uh oh...that can't be good." she commented, looking down at Aux. "Got any ideas on how to help her?" she asked him, curious if he had any ideas. "Besides, what's wrong with helping people? Didn't you do that in your home world thing or were you guys too busy trying to protect all the worlds?" Ananta teased. That last part wasn't meant to be rude, but hopefully Aux didn't see it that way.
While all of this was scary, Ananta couldn't help but chuckle at Hikaru's attempts to get Timon off of Kaida's back. "That's what you get for being rideable!" Ananta called to her. Like they had a choice in what they became. It was still ironic, nonetheless. Though Aux was being pretty funny himself, which spurred a chuckle from her as well. His next line was just, wrong, though. "Aux, please..." Ananta sighed at his remarks of cooking Timon. "You haven't ate me yet, so why him?" she teased. Watching the two lions fight was interesting, but Ananta was more concerned why suddenly they were patting heads and other th- oh. Ananta realized what might be going on and she already knew to just nod and ignore what alone time they wanted as she looked to TImon. "So while they reconcile and whatnot, can you guys tell us who this Simba is to you? I mean, how come you guys are okay with him but not Nala?"
Ananta chuckled at Aux and watched Nala shortly after. Apparently, she found herself a nice plump pig that she soon started to chase. While she wasn't too keen on watching Nala any more, Ananta was well aware what was happening and almost wanted to stop Nala. Then she remembered that she was a bird and Nala was still the bigger of the two. "Hey uh...Aux...I think we ought to try and stop her. You're a lion so uh...go forth?" she suggested, pecking at his head gently.
Listening to Aux, Ananta considered everything he was saying. She nodded at him, knowing that them meddling may not be the best thing, but she knew there was no other way to pass these exams. "Regardless of these worlds being asleep or awake, we've gotta help them. Heartless and darkness are everywhere these days. We can't let the heartless or those affected by darkness rule over a world. It certainly hurts the world more than anything. Besides, the last world's we went to solved their problems themselves. We just helped them ensure that." she said, looking down at Aux. "Isn't that what we're supposed to do? Protect the worlds and make sure they can continue on? I want to try and restore the lost world's too. Like AJ's and mine. There's gotta be a way to do it. Right?" She sighed and shook her head, looking ahead at Nala and Hikaru. Aislinn had joined her too, it seemed. Though she did hear Aux mention messing up his hat. "Just for that, I'm gonna do it. I wasn't, but now I am." she joked. She hated that she interrupted AJ's story, seeing as the poor guy probably never told anybody. "AJ you can....continue your story, by the way." she said, looking over at him.
Ananta pecked the lion in protest. "Hey, I talked to you first, Aux." she said, frowning. "At least acknowledge I'm even here!" Sure she's a bird, but ignoring her even being on his head? That was just rude! Ananta was not having any of that mess.
Ananta watched Aux kind of ignore Aislinn. She chuckled to herself and fluttered up onto Aux's head, sitting atop his hat. "I promise I won't scratch you." she said to him, watching the hyena's cower and whimper. A lioness came up to them and was curious about the goings on. As the hyena's pleaded with her, they eventually left and Ananta honestly felt scared. Luckily, the lioness decided against trying to hunt the group and soon requested their aid. Hikaru spoke up for the group and annoyed Aux greatly. As Hikaru avoided the question of how many times they've meddled, Ananta watched Kaida mock Aux a little, running off. "In all honesty, Aux. we've been to so many worlds. We haven't really meddled, so much as helped them solve their problems. That's meddling still, but we're not revealing anything by helping, are we?" she asked him, looking down at the lion.
The three hyena's were now wearing down and her party members were doing their best to keep things interesting. Although Aux was still on the ground, frustrated with himself. Ananta couldn't see why they all had to hate him still. Sure he did some bad things, but people can chance, right? Ananta believed that people could change, so she wanted to try and make friends with Aux. Unfortunately for her, she still had to deal with a few things before she could get to know Aux a little better. To her right, Ananta saw Banzai getting roughed up by Aislinn and AJ. Ananta smiled, knowing this one was probably nearly done. So she waited for a chance and watched Banzai, trying to find an opening. She found one when she saw the hyena wobbling a little. Banzai was looking worse for wear, so she knew he was the one she had to attack. Zooming down, Ananta landed a few hits on Banzai before she decided to give him a second to swipe at her. His sluggish swipes amused Ananta greatly. She had fun with him, dodging and weaving, watching him get frustrated to the point that she felt her feathers get a little ruffled. Ananta stayed in the air for a bit and tried to figure a way to dispose of him without being too over the top....perhaps a simple Thunder spell would do the trick? Aiming her keyblade, Ananta called out, "Thundara!" She had a smile on her face as she watched Banzai finally fall over with a whine. He wasn't dead, sure, but he was at least knocked out for now. Looking over at Ed, she watched Hikaru use a Blizzard spell to attack him. Ed freaked out about the ice, but soon was sore from the cold and smack from Hikaru's keyblade. She watched Ed attempt to attack Hikaru and fail. Then she watched the hyena aim for him again. Not wanting to chance anything, she flew down and struck Ed across the cheek, sending him backwards "Stupid thing." she chuckled, landing on Hikaru for a moment. "I think if you and Kaida team up on him...or anybody really, you can defeat him." she said to Hikaru. "Otherwise, we've gotta watch him uh....do whatever." she chuckled. "I'm gonna go check on Aux." Ananta fluttered over to Aux and landed on the ground next to him. "Hi there." she said, looking him over. "We haven't really talked much, but I'm Ananta. Do you need some help?" she asked, fluttering and tugging at Aux's fur. She did manage to snag his hat, which she promptly just...dropped on the ground. "Oops." she said, picking it up with her beak and shaking it a bit to get the dust off. "Hew ooh goew." she tried to say through hat in her beak. I feel like if I ever joined the Vulpes party, I'd be the one person keeping us in first place....or at least in fourth :p
Daeni listened to the others and shook her head, crossing her arms. She just stared at Alder, having a hard time letting him know how she felt. "It...was just...pieces. Dunno." she spurted out, tapping her foot in frustration. But it looked like everyone else wasn't really caring for what was wrong with anybody else. They all looked pretty much caught up in their own personal thoughts. Not once did any of them even consider that maybe, Chrys was more messed up than them. He had been separated from them for awhile after all. Who knows what Ria did to him in that time. Stepping over to Chrys, Daeni put her hand on his shoulder and looked at him. "You okay?" she said, sounding a little more normal now. To hell with Cerdic's idea of moving on, she was more concerned about Chrys, anyway. Even if all she got was her hand shoved off, she just wanted to check up on Chrys.
Ananta shook her head at Aislinn. "No, it's like sitting on a twisted branch. I'll be fine so long as I don't sit upon the top." she chuckled, looking around some more. She was about to pipe up with suggestions when she heard cackling and footsteps. Three hyena looking creatures came forward and started to tease and torment the group. Tilting her head, curious to what the three were saying, Ananta saw them stare and talk about eating the group. "Wait, do they want to eat us....?" Ananta blinked. "Oh no, none of us are gonna taste good at all, I swear!" She tried to reason with the three things, to no avail. Ananta flew up above the oncoming commotion and watched her comrades start to fight. They were all attacking the different hyenas. Ananta watched the three hyenas and came to a conclusion that the female sounding one had to be the leader. Taking the leader down would be her best bet right now, so Ananta summoned her keyblade....in her talons? She immediately got weighed down a little bit, but amazingly, the keyblade had shrunk down with Ananta. So she was able to wield it just as effectively now as she had been as a full bodied person. Smirking, Ananta rushed towards Shenzi and whacked her with her keyblade a few times. Although, Shenzi got back and swiped at Ananta just as much. Thankfully, Ananta was able to fly out of reach and continue her assault. Flying backwards, she let her party get in their own hits. During that time, she started to formulate a plan. She'd go for the leader first, then she'd go for the pushover male, and finally, she'd help finish off the rather...dumb one. The plan seemed perfect and honestly, Ananta was rather proud of herself. Keyblade in her talons, Ananta aimed it at Shenzi and started to charge a spell. "Ok, let's see how you guys handle this one..." she said, smirking. "Fire!" she yelled, watching a firey blast launch towards the hyena. Hitting her mark, she watched Shenzi start running around, screaming and yelping in pain. "That's what you get for picking on my friends!" Ananta retorted angrily. Although at this point, Kaida was probably not all too friendly with Ananta, she didn't care. Messing with someone because they didn't look like something you knew wasn't right. Besides, Ananta thought Kaida looked rather adorable anyway. Ananta flopped forward and waved her arms. For some reason, she could tell she was floating. Opening her eyes, she saw her companions were all animals. Blinking a few times, Ananta looked at herself and saw she was a parrot. Although, she was smaller than Kaida, for sure, at least she wasn't the only bird. Especially since AJ was a lion. She kind of worried if his feline instincts would kick in. Shaking her head, Ananta took a moment to fly a bit before she looked around. It certainly was pretty barren. And when she flew high enough, all she saw was more dirt and dust, some greenery was far off. "I see some green far away, but we're pretty much surrounded by dirt and dust." She stated, flying back down and perching upon Aislinn's antler. "I hope you don't mind." she said, looking down at Aislinn. "Or should I go perch someplace else?"
