Zack sat up and rubbed his bruised forehead. "Who and what now?" Rubbing his eyes with his arm, He slowly examined the demon head to toe. He then let out a long winded whistle. "Damn girl, ain't you a cutie."

"That's all." he said. "Now hurry. We don't have much time. In fact it may already be too late."

    ----------------------

Still Zack didn't answer. he released a mumble about Apple pie, that was barely understandable, before attempting to roll on to his side. Zack fell out of the tree and smack on his face. It wasn't a long fall, but it was long enough to hurt. "Ow..." said Zack, his voice muffled by the ground.

Tristan paid the summon not a glance. He carefully examined his fingernails during the entire speech. He wasn't very convinced.
"If all you know is to kill, then I have not a reason to believe in your words. However..." Tristan shaped a thin blade and cut away a few roots in a way that made her wrist visible. letting the blade dissipate, Tristan then pulled out a silvery bracelet that he stashed away earlier. He had discovered that so long as the bracelet did not touch his skin, then it would have no effect on him.
Tristan then secured the bracelet to the fake's wrist so that it was nice and snug. "However," Tristan repeated, "I need you at the moment. with this bracelet, you should be unable to use your powers. Don't try taking it off, It won't let you. If you can prove to me that you have turned a new leaf, then I shall remove the bracelet. It you prove to be dishonest, then I will hunt you down and kill you myself." Tristan cut away the remaining roots and presented the fake with the message for his sister. "I need you to give this to my sister. You can find her at the Slave Market in the East. Stay by her side until I say otherwise."

    ---------------

Zack remained silent, paying the demon no heed. His breaths came slow and even. to give a better appearance of being asleep.

"No need for formalities; you can drop the sir." Said Tristan while whipping out a sheet of animal skin that he picked up on the way. He had written a message on the sheet in his own blood. He just hoped that she remembered what his handwriting looked like. "Can I trust you?" Asked Tristan in a quiet, yet deadly voice.

    --------------

Zack heard the whistle of rushing wind. The demon must have found him. relaxing some more, Zack prepared for the confrontation.

Tristan took a deep breath of fresh air before entering the sewer. Rubbing his hand against the wall as a means of guidance in the darkness, Tristan slowly made his way down the tunnels until he heard the rhythmic sound of breathing.
"You," Said Tristan in a stern voice. The creature had not moved an inch since he left. Perhaps it could be trusted. "I have a job for you."

Tristan didn't hear Eleanor for he was deep in thought. "I need to get to Nas. I asked her to retrieve something important. I have to secure it because my father is definitely looking for it."

"And who exactly is this Nas?" Asked the metal Molding Cylian.

Tristan glanced at the girl but didn't answer. "Eleanor, Lanan. Please help the humans in the chamber below us. Make sure they stay in the building. Our efforts will be for naught if they die from the upcoming battle. Tristan approached the closest trapdoor and stopped. "Oh and please don't follow me. You two could be of more use here. After all, many of the beings here would not follow me as a general. Look for some food stores. they probably haven't had a decent meal for weeks, perhaps even months."
Tristan climbed his way down the latter and made his way out of the building. His first stop wouldn't be at any of the slave markets. No, first he would revisit the sewers. There was a fake summon lying in wait there. perhaps it could be useful. Someone had to warn Sammy, and Tristan couldn't be in two places at once.

And so an hour or so passed and the children in the two smaller buildings were released. The building housing Tristan and friends still had a few captives, but they were the human children. the fairrels and Cylians were free from both the cages and bracelets. Tristan knew he was running out of time. with each passing second his father's men came closer. However what he didn't know was that they were already here.

Nas entered a room filled with cages. Hearing the twang of a bow string, she summoned roots from the ground to shield her from the direction where she heard the sound. A smile crossed Nas's lips when she heard the thud of the arrow hitting the root.

"That's a lot of cages. save your energy, we're going to need it."

"Um, perhaps I can help." One of the female Cylians, that Tristan freed, shifted uncomfortably. "I'm able to Mold metal."

Tristan raised an eyebrow at the comment. "Then why haven't you ever tried to escape?"

The girl looked at the others as though she were looking for support, however, she found none. finally she sighed and raised her right hand. "Because this bracelet nullifies several unnatural powers. All of us were forced to wear them."

"You couldn't just take it off or something?"

The Cylian shook her head. "There are enchantments placed on the bracelets. Only people who are not wearing them can remove them. this how they captured us. Once they had one of us, they had all of us.

Tristan stared at the strange silvery object a moment longer before nodding. Getting back on his feet, Tristan made his way towards the girl and examined the bracelet. After toying with it for a few seconds. He finally managed to remove the bracelet. It felt warm, unnaturally warm. "What sort of metal is this?" Tristan wondered aloud.

"Not metal," whispered the Cylian. "It emits a strange aura that makes my skin crawl. If I'm not mistaken, I believe it to have previously been a part of some creature."

Tristan narrowed his eyes. This thing.... it was blocking his connection to the lineve flows. He felt strangely vulnerable while holding it. He would have to do something about these bracelets. Later. he thought, It will have to come later.
Tristan glanced down at the Cylian and nodded. "Go help your kin." He said softly.
The Cylian just stared at Tristan with measuring eyes. It was starting to make him uncomfortable.

"I am forever in your debt, Shaper. Thank you."

Snapping back at the moment at hand. Tristan stared up at the captive in front of him. The captive, a Cylian, stared at him as though he were crazy. Tristan glanced around the room. Heck all of them were giving him that look.
"Lanan, Eleanor. Step up the pace. Trouble is coming our way. That voice, that I mentioned, told me my father sent an army to get me and they're nearly here."

"Great!" Said the rude male Cylian from earlier. "We got a crazy on our hands."

Tristan gave a chuckle and smiled at the Cylian. "Crazy, you say? heh, perhaps, but I hope not."

Zack raised an eyebrow after seeing the surprising speed.
Not the smartest of moves. He thought. Now I know for sure that they are the demons. So that one's a speedster, huh? Well I guess that explains her actions, speedsters tend to do things without thinking things through.
Zack caught another glimpse of her as she ran in circles. I suppose she's scouting for me then. Well that's to be expected since they suddenly felt my aura vanish. Not such a big deal. There are other humans in the immediate area so she can't really single me out among the rest of them. Then again she could kill all of them, though such actions would be rash.
Zack sighed before jumping down to a branch that made him much more visible. best to make things not look suspicious. He thought while reclining himself against the branch and relaxing the back of his head on the palms of his hands. He then closed his eyes and let one foot dangle from the branch. This wasn't the first time he had to act his way out of trouble. His childlike appearance had helped him out in such situations more than once. By all appearances, Zack looked like a normal kid sleeping away in a tree.

One by one, Tristan picked the locks to the cages, all the while doing his best ignore the crazy laughter in his head. Finally the laughter died down. Tristan released a sigh. His relief was short lived though, for the voice is came back in full to taunt him so more.
Hurry, hurry, hurry! time's running out! Everything will be for naught If you don't finish soon.
Tristan stopped halfway through one of the locks. A frown crossed his face. He didn't like the taunting, yet knowing, tone that the voice was giving him. What do you mean time's running out?
The voice giggled with glee. Hmmm. I wonder.
TELL ME! Tristan shouted into the depths of his mind.
I don't know.... things will be much more interesting leaving you in the dark.
You better tell me or else-
Or else what? What could you possibly do to me?
Tristan gritted his his teeth. What could he do to the voice? What could he possibly do? Several thoughts crossed his mind, none of them seemed like they would work. The voice crackled madly in Tristan's head. Taunting him. Teasing him. What could he do? What? then suddenly a thought crossed Tristan's mind.
Tell me or I'll take my own life.
Tristan's thought was answered by silence. He could feel the voice probing his mind. You would, wouldn't you. It was a statement, not a question. The voice could see into Tristan's thoughts, It could sense his resolve. Suddenly the voice started laughing again. And what makes you so sure that that makes any difference to me?
Because you told me so. Tristan answered with a grin. Again there was silence.
What, you don't remember? It was yesterday, when I was on death's bed because I was sick from my injuries. You came to me in my dreams and told me that I couldn't go dieing just yet because you needed me to destroy the world. Still, silence.
Tristan shaped a dagger in his hand and held it to his throat.
I'll give you till the count of three. One.......... Two...........Thr- Tristan felt a sudden urge to move the dagger from his throat. The voice was trying to take control again. It would have won too if Tristan had not expected this. Tristan fought for a few seconds until he finally gained control. And that counts as three. He thought while slicing the dagger into his throat slowly.
STOP! Tristan stopped the dagger. A thin line of blood formed on his neck. You win. The voice said grudgingly.
Tell me then! Why am I running out of time?
Because, said the voice with a giggle. By now, your father's men have nearly reached the city. They're being led by a man whose mind was corrupted under your father's influence. He's under the order to kill civilians until he draws you out from hiding, and he will kill those people. He will make them suffer while enjoying every second of it.
Tristan's heart felt as though it had stopped, but he quickly gain control of himself to prevent the voice from gaining control of his body. A few plans started formulating his mind. It was time to ask another question.
    My father, is he human?
    Yes, and no.
    Explain.
He's human, but he's being controlled by a demon. Yes, demons do exist. He doesn't have much time left. He will die soon.
    Can I save him?
    No.
Tristan nodded. He half expected that.
Anymore questions? The voice asked sarcastically.
    Just one.
Oh, by all means, ask away! Said the voice sounding even more sarcastic.
How do you know all this?
The voice chuckled to itself. Gee, I wonder. It answered, and then it was gone.
Tristan sighed while letting the Lineve dagger dissipate. He didn't really expect an answer for that one.

As the soldiers entered the hall Nas darted between their numbers, tripping a few as she passed them. All of them looked back towards Nas. They were all too stunned to notice Rubira standing right behind them....

Ha! hero, she says. Crackled the voice.
Tristan pushed the voice out of his mind without a second's thought. Without saying a word Tristan slowly approached where the captive, hidden in shadow, sat slumped in its cage. Taking a few seconds to let his eyes adjust to the light, Eventually he made out a young Wolf girl covered in bruises. She stared up at him with sad yet accepting eyes. Her clothes had tears in several places, especially on her back where she had been whipped several times over.
As he stared down at those eyes, he realized what was the right thing to do. Shaping a small thin rod, Tristan bent over and began picking the lock. He sat there until he heard a click. The captives watched him intently as the lock fell to the ground. As the cage door creaked open, Tristan gave the girl one last smile before moving on to the next cage.
This time the captive was a female Cylian. She too wore a silver bracelet around her wrist. For reason the bracelet gave him an uneasy feeling. But he decided to ponder about it later. As he started picking the new lock, he called out to his companions.
"Lanan, Eleanor. See if you can find some keys to help me out here."

Tristan smiled. "Well that was nice and clean." Relieving the tension in his muscles, Tristan took his time strolling towards the cages hidden in the gloom. What he saw made him stop dead. Hundreds of Cylians and Fairrels lay locked up in cages. Most of the Fairrels seemed in their teens. The Cylians were definitely adults. Tristan was stunned. How did they manage such a feat?

"More humans? I've had enough your people!" growled a Cylian in front of Tristan. A silvery bracelet was lock snugly around his wrist. Tristan eyed it curiously.

"Humans?" Came a feminine voice of a Cat that Tristan could barely make out in the gloom. "No, only one of them is human. The others have a mixed smell."

"Shut it, Fairrel! Nobody asked you!" Snapped the Cylian. The Cylian snapped his head back at the three companions. "So what? Have you come to claim another one of us as your slave? Choose me, I dare you. I'll rip your heart out! What are you doing here? What do you want?!"

"Perhaps...." Came the voice of someone covered in too much shadow for Tristan to make heads or tails of. "Perhaps they've come to save us."

Several of the captives turned their heads towards the one who spoke. The Cylian let out a dry laugh. "Save us? A human save us? Ha! As if! What do you know anyway? I'm surprised that you even have the guts to speak still after all the times they've beaten you. I wonder how much longer till they brake you."

"I j-just thought...." There was a few moments of silence till near broken captive spoke again. "They're not all humans, you know?" Said the captive in a near silent voice. "And look what they did to the guards."

"That doesn't prove anything! I would have thought that you would have learned long ago that we have no hope. We lost that a long time ago."

"but..... if we have no hope, then what do we have left?" The captive's question was answered by silence.
