The "Iwata Asks" segment seems interesting. I hope in future volumes, they discuss the meanings behind the two delays. I'd be really interested in knowing them.

Argh. It's a bit complicated if you have absolutely no idea how video feeds work. You'll have to look up tutorials if you want to learn how to do each of the methods, but I"ll try to at least generalize what happens: Capture Card method: You directly connect the video/audio outputs from your console (for PS2, these are either by RF, Composite, S-video, or Component) to ports located on the capture card. The capture card then takes these signals and displays it on your computer screen (in essence your computer becomes the TV), by which then you can record the content directly onto your computer as a video file. DVD player method: I haven't tried this myself, but it seems pretty obvious what happens. Much how you can record television shows onto a VCR, you can record video inputs from your TV onto a DVD using a DVD player. Each DVD player has different settings on how to record, but the objective is the same. Use a blank DVD-R or a DVD-RW and pop it into your DVD player. Adjust the DVD player onto the right video input on the TV (i.e. the one your PS2 is currently using) and record away. After doing this, rip the DVD contents into video files onto your computer. NOTE: Ripping DVDs into video files onto your computer also requires specific knowledge to do, and usually requires a program. There are many tutorials on how to do this as well. Digital Camcorder method: I personally have used this for most of my video gameplay footage. The video/audio outputs from my console are directly fed into the digital camcorder and recorded accordingly. However, since I can't really see what I'm doing, I split the video/audio feeds into two sources: the video camera (to be recorded) and onto my TV (so I can actually play the game). After the gameplay is recorded, rip the camcorder footage onto your computer (using the program that usually comes with your digital camcorder. I use DVGate Plus) as video files.
Probably the same reason why DS doesn't really post on the forums in the first place except when he really has to I really don't see how this is a shock. Everyone should've known DS probably wouldn't speak a word to us about what he does with his site.

Three capture methods I recommend are either: - Capture Card (or USB/firewire device if you're feeling rich) --> record TV input to computer - Record video input onto DVD using DVD player --> rip DVD to video onto computer - Record video input onto digital camcorder --> rip camcorder video to computer

Did you expect anything otherwise from an Administrator who barely posts on the forums? He even keeps himself invisible when he's browsing. If you ask me, Deathspank loves the KHV he created, but he surely doesn't think it's important to let his members know what's going on with his site. I sure don't expect Deathspank to let us know in detail the things he plans. Were we ever told in advance when forum skins changed? No, they just happened, and although not a big problem, it messed up a lot of my RP and I had to reorganize colours and what not to get it to display right, and remake the images I used.
I think as long as people maturely express their opinions, this thread isn't all that dangerous. If someone doesn't trust the new owner, I think they're entitled to expressing it--however I think many of you are being unfair by judging him this quickly. Let's be honest, how many of you have actually talked and/or seen Deathspank on these forums, or know him very well at all. I sure don't. Sure, he's posted a few times here and there, but for the most part, he's an enigmatic figure that no one's really associated themselves with. You all trusted DS because he's owned and ran the site for years and nothing really went wrong. You trusted him because the site kept running and things were fixed when they were broken. This trust has very little to do with anything else if you ask me. Sp just got here, and already you're all spiting him and paranoid about his ability. Give him a chance to show us what he can do. And if you ask me, if he actually participates in forum activities by posting and associating with members; he's already doing something DS didn't do. If you can put trust in someone who rarely shows their face on these forums, then I'd say if Sp actually puts himself out into the community, you have a whole lot more to put trust in if he runs the site well.
