I have my hands full with a final to study for tomorrow, but if you want to go ahead and do that, that's fine with me. However, I really think it's their responsibility to keep up to date with what's going on. I'm not much of a believer in chasing after people if they're the ones who wanted to participate. o.o
At the very earliest, this RP will be started tomorrow afternoon. But that will require my co-leader, Kagiya, to start off the RP if I request her to. As you can see, there are still some people who've yet to make the edits to their bios like I've asked them to, so that may cause a small delay since I wouldn't wanna prematurely cut out people. As well, my final tomorrow is at 7PM EST, so although I *can* ask Kagiya if she could start the RP tomorrow afternoon, but if that doesn't work out, Thursday or Friday will be more appropriate. This is why it's important to get your bios in and edited as quickly as possible. I'm somewhat amused that some people posted their bios and haven't checked this thread once since then (since they haven't made their edits XD).
Nymph of Destiny: Approved. Spike: Approved.
Don't start. If you interpreted my last post properly, you should have realized I really don't care anymore about your incident specifically. I was merely justifying to Vivi what I will allow and what I will not allow. These are objective statements and have very little to do with you. Any further toiling of your assumptions and I'll have you removed from the RP. I certainly didn't like how you handled that last post of yours.
XD I personally don't care if people wanna help out. As long as they don't go making decisions for me, I really don't mind. However, I won't like it if one person gets picked on when there are others who should be too. =X
I know I never mentioned she was a co-leader, but it just seems unfair to me that when she finally states something about the RP, you attacked her almost immediately. There have been a few times where people like Vivi and GX have corrected people's bios and telling them what to do, yet I didn't see you comment once on their posts. Kagiya was simply stating facts, not attacking members, yet she gets the brunt of this "back-seat RP owning" comment. Anyway, there will be at least one more update before the RP begins regarding how to control story characters. These instructions will be important so that we don't have situations where 5 different people all see the same person in 5 different places and interact with him/her all at the same time.
Kagiya is co-leading this RP with me. She's responsible for a great deal of the RP's creation, so please show her a little more respect. Also, she's not the only person here who has 'back-seat RP owned' in this thread, so if you must comment, I expect you to include everyone who is guilty in this matter. Please don't single her out needlessly just because she has a 0 post count and thus seems incompetent. She's an excellent RPer with a lot of experience. Her comment wasn't even bad; it's something I think everyone would've benefited from knowing. <.<
Thanks, no problems here. K a i r i: Approved.
I can see Repliku's point, though. It's not meant to be elitist or offensive to the other RPers, it's just for organization. =\ I will acknowledge that in addressing the concern of para-rps being "pushed" down the page list and being lost, subscribing to these threads solves the issue entirely. However, another section would make this step easily omittable. It might be small at first, but over-time, as members get drawn to it (whether it be the same people doing it over and over again, or some new recruits venture in), the section will increase. Try to think of it long-term. It might have 5-10 threads in it, but months from now, do you really think it'll stay 5-10 threads if RPers who've stayed quiet until now finally have a place they feel they can RP in? My RP has received far more attention than I expected, and it's the first one of its kind, if I'm not mistaken.
I resigned ages ago. *I* don't even remember when.
On most other RP forums I've been to, a separate thread is made for the actual RP, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do that here. I'll have to PM CtR about it when Wednesday comes along. And sure, clawtooth35, it might be a good idea to post who's been approved already, since there are still a few people who still haven't made the edits I've asked them to make. I'll get around to doing that soon. @Spike: Sorry! I'll get to reading your bio soon, just I'm completely famished and have to finish some more psych readings for my final. I'll get to it before the end of today, I promise. EDIT: Spike: The appearance was already suspicious, but your description for Magick ability gave it away; your character was pretty much a rip-off of Sven Vollfied from Black Cat. Anyway, trenchcoats don't exactly fit the dress code of the period, and despite that Kain is a traveler, a trenchcoat just.. isn't feasible to me so I'm going to have to ask you to change that. Additionally, your unique ability is far too strong. It borders the ability found in Level 4 magick (that is, to peer into possible futures of individuals), and those kinds of powers aren't supposed to be possessable by anyone in the RP. You can keep your characters name, age, job class and place of stay (Mhaura), however your character's magick needs to be reconsidered as well as his outfit. Naturally this affects your bio as well. Try to be more creative with your character; the Sven Vollfied rip-off was far too obvious.
clawtooth35: Approved.
And after losing his nobility rank (dishonourable), so would he lose his job. To put a more modern example, someone could be a kindergarten teacher at a highly acclaimed elementary school. However, said person soon gets exposed as committing acts of pedophilia (dishonourable) a few years later. It's obvious that after this truth, the school would fire the kindergarten teacher. The same thing applies here. It wouldn't really matter if her great grandfather became a magick teacher before he lost his nobility, but the moment he lost his nobility rank (for marrying a common woman), he would subsequently be removed from his teaching position. As long as you're able to understand this, and communicate it in your bio accordingly, that's fine. I will have to make a slight change in the prologue description since it's being misunderstood: Verlest, Mhaura and Estavel existed even during Ferawyn rule, just they were all equally prosperous. The 'significant split' was meant to infer that after the three leaders were elected, the nature of each district in relation to the others was drastically changed. I'll make this edit now.
I made the edit, my apologies, I was referring to Tosca's great grandfather. I'll quote: Her great grandfather married out of the Noble bloodline and was disowned. However, still after that he was a teacher at one of the magick schools. Being disowned by his family would label him somewhat a 'failure' by the masses of nobility. Thus, it would be unlikely that he would be able to secure a teaching job at one of the magick schools in Verlest or Estavel. EDIT: I was going to wait for someone to call me on it before I explained. I was sort of absent-minded when I was writing the word 'magick', and therefore would carelessly interchange the two spellings. I realized this after and tried to change as many "majick" words into "magick", but I eventually gave up and said screw it. The correct spelling for this RP is supposed to be "magick", so if you can remember that, that's great. It's pretty inconsequential if you spell it either way, however. I really won't care.
No problem. The entire giving-up of the noble rank is perfectly fine, however, it's unlikely that her great grandfather (who had already been demoted from nobility) would've taught at the magick schools located outside Mhaura. Professors of the magick schools are usually all come from noble Houses, with the exception of Mhaura, which can be run by citizens. But since Mhaura has poor funding, these professors aren't all that talented--as least not as much as the ones in Verlest and Estavel. So please clear up those details about Tosca's great grandfather, I'm sure you can do it. ;p
Heh. Anyway, please placed an "EDITED" marker at the top of your bio post after you've made the necessary changes, so I know to look it over again.
Added it in my edit, lol.
