Don't ask. It's too weak to be worth explaining.
Edit: Both the reference and the lock down itself.

I think the more relevant question(s) is "Jay, do you want to continue the RP? And if so, how do you want it to continue?"

If there were real interest in a game-mechanics based Pokemon Arena, I could write a program to calculate damage and such. But I don't think anyone wants that. Just have pokemon battles like in the anime. Screw the rules and let Pikachu kill Onyx with Thunderbolt if you really want to. They did that in the anime.

Staraptor! Fancy meeting you here. It's been a while.

Staraptor was always my ace pokemon back in Pearl, but as I've lost the game cartridge (And the DS) I haven't seen him in a long time.

I could make some analogies to make a point.. But instead I'm just going to say that there is no such thing as "Pure of heart" simply because there is nothing for it to be. Would it simply be no having any bad thoughts? In that case someone who has no concept of right and wrong is pure of heart, even if they go around kicking puppies for entertainment. Is it having all of the good thoughts? No one can have all of them, as many are mutually exclusive and most wouldn't even be prompted. There is no definition for "Pure of heart" that doesn't exclude people who should probably be included or include people who probably should be excluded.

Mega Gyarados is Dark. Something going from not dark to dark and getting a power boost is very Supreme King.

The most broken part is that the monster that says "Each player can only SS once per turn" only counts summons after it hits the field. So you can SS 50 times, then SS the things that says you can only SS once per turn and then SS something else.

Shaddoll are OP. They can play one spell card to fusion summon from the deck, draw a card, and the SS a monster from the grave face-down. And their monsters all have flip effects. And when their fusions die they can add one of their S/T (including their fusion spells) from the grave to their hand.

If you draw one card every turn and can only play two cards per turn it devalues card efficiency too much, in my opinion. Making the standard draw optional and cost one action means that in the long run decks that are more card efficient will be much better, but those decks generally don't have as much burst potential. A less card efficient, more bursty, deck like something using Polymerization would have much more power early on, but would then need to spend more actions later on drawing. It also means that cards like Pot of Greed aren't completely worthless, since they allow you to convert both actions to generating hand to allow for stronger burst on a future turn. At the same time, card advantage isn't entirely OP like in current arena format, so you can afford to fuse things from the hand without needing to end the game that turn.

Technically, if you use the non-anime version, you'll need to draw it and then play it as two separate actions on the same turn, so it's only really good if you are starting from hand 0.

If you start with a hand of five, and you spend four of those cards on a fusion and a face-down, then I play *insert monster destruction*, face-down negates, I play *insert monster destruction* you start next turn with only one card, you can draw one and then have one more action to revive your fusion monster. So then you're one card in hand, one fusion monster on the field, no actions left. Direct attack, I take damage. Then I have three cards to play with, which I can use for something like Goblindberg > effect > Ark > effect (all in one action), or Summoner Monk > effect summoning tuner > Jeweled RDA > Jeweled RDA effect (also one action).
I guess it makes monsters that, from the field, summon other monsters OP.

Edit @ Jay, he was taking about with the rules I proposed, not base game.

I think Fusion isn't too OP due to needing to slow down your game plan to draw, and making it harder to set up the grave. So fusion is either as slow as the others if it waits on grave/super poly, or it uses up a lot of power quickly by fusing from the hand, giving it high burst but low sustain.

I just found this thing that I posted earlier in this thread, and thought it might be worth trying.

I'm thinking each of your turns you may take two actions, where an action is defined as either drawing one card (you don't automatically draw one) OR setting, playing, or activating any card or non-mandatory effect except for the effect of a monster card on the field. Then during your opponent's turn, you can only activate one non-mandatory card or effect.

So during your opponent's turn you could Effect Veiler or Mirror Force (assuming you have a set card) or Necro Gardna, but you couldn't do two of those things on the same turn. And cards that make you draw a lot would stop being OP, because there are big restrictions on how quickly you can play things. And it would make cards that need to discard as cost actually be useful.

Maybe add in all monster effects can only be used once per turn for free. So I could play Snipe Hunter with one action then discard a card to destroy something without using an action, but then if I wanted to discard a second card to destroy a second thing I'd have to use my second action for the turn.

    Any thoughts?

Edit: Maybe to slow the pace of battle too, we could make it so that entering the BP costs an action. Not sure, that might be counterproductive since swarming has already been limited.

Maybe one free attack per turn, then you can spend an action to allow all your other monsters to attack too?
