Boats were distracting, but Ananta couldn't help but notice Steel speak up. She turned around and saw he had joined the party once more. He spoke of how promises were important. She nodded along, agreeing with him. Though her face wasn't smiling, she was trying to listen to the current conversation, not sure how to react. Kaida's words got her to tilt her head. Imagining Aux getting cheesy was kind of hard, after all. But making promises was something Ananta had been doing for a long time. Her oldest promise with this group was with Steel. When she first saw what he had hidden beneath his mask and scarf so long ago, she promised to keep that a secret. She kept that promise until events made his reveal and she was relieved of keeping that one. Steel covered his scarred eye and Ananta looked a little sad. She saw his other eye had changed color and that reminded her that Steel was a mystery. So many things going on with him, but she could tell he wasn't just going to talk it all out. The others talked about the way Steel was and Ananta sighed to herself. She stayed silent for the rest of the conversation before speaking up. "I noticed the eye thing once." she commented. She looked to Steel while listening to Stratos and Kaida talk about things. Though Kaida did have some odd stories or history facts she said she could talk about. "History of other worlds..." Ananta spoke out loud. "I'm curious too, my grandmother said she would teach me more about the other worlds, but well...you know." she shrugged. "I"m still a child according to my world. So I guess she figured I was too young..." Ananta looked to Steel and gave him a smile. "Aren't you kind of glad I kept that promise?" she said. "I mean, the one about not mentioning what you had going on under your mask and scarf long ago. If you ask me, I think I like this version of you better. You're courteous and caring...well, you seem to be caring at least." she chuckled. "Though you do tend to keep a lot of things inside. I...I admit I want to learn more about you, Steel. So, well, that is uh...." she stammered, not sure how to put it. "if you want to, that is...um....maybe you could talk with me or us or...anyone more about your problems? I'm not good at all with talking, but I'd like to think I can listen well." she said, rubbing her arm. "You're the very first friend I made in this group, so...I want to be a friend you can depend on. Just like I depend on you." She remembered back when she was with them in Castle of Dreams. She remembered Steel helping her with the Unversed and...she was sad she didn't really talk much back then. "Oh my gosh, remember when I threw a rock at Vanitas? And when you always uh....ate....weird...orbs...??" she laughed. Thinking back to when she first joined the group, Steel really was her oldest friend from the group. They had their odd moments at the beginning, sure, but she was still his friend. Not sure where she was going with the topic, but Ananta hoped she didn't royally screw things up again. She noticed she had a tendency to do that. (19/31)
Dastgir's plan worked and he saw the beginnings of Charlie to disappear. Though the device was quickly electrocuted, but it didn't stop it. Dastgir turned around, wondering where he could run when he saw a golem come and wrap itself around Charlie. Dastgir's eyes turned towards the girl who was also disappearing slowly by the same object. "Damn..." he grit his teeth, watching the girl disappear. Though he did turn back and saw Charlie's final outburst as the golem exploded and sent ice and snow everywhere. Dastgir looked around, not really agitated or surprised at the snow. it was the same element as him, so he was used to it by now. It stuck to him as he sighed, pulling his journal out and recording the events that transpired. In the middle of his writings, Dastgir heard Koa yelling. He looked over as a man, whom Koa called Luther, had apparently sealed the girls' fate. Dastgir made his way over to Koa, standing beside him. "Koa, calm down. Don't let your emotions get the best of you." Dastgir spoke, looking towards Koa. He turned to face Luther and frowned. "Clearly he's not a good guy. If he was at one point, that's all gone now. People like him are the worst..." he mumbled the last part. "I just want to know one thing, however." Dastgir took a step forward. "What are those objects? They make people disappear. That's frightening. What happens to them? Are they gone forever? Where do they go?" He knew his questions would not be answered, but he at least could try to ask them.
Terry's reaction got Eva to back off and just stare off at him. Will ended up leaving her alone, so she was left to figure out what to do. Eva looked after Will for a second, but turned and walked off to Terry. "Hey uh...what happened back there?" she asked, curious. "Is it that bad of a nickname?" She had her fair share of nicknames, but she wasn't really affected by them, so much as enjoying them. Though her favorite was him calling her Eevee, that's for sure.
"Sure, I believe that, totally." Eva teased, nudging Terry. She listened to them a second but spoke up. "Tell me what it really means." She saw how red Terry's face had gotten. She put a hand on his arm and rubbed it to try and comfort him. "There there lil T....it'll be alright." She said.
Eva watched the exchange and blushed at the girlfriend part. "Not yet...." she mumbled, smiling to herself. "No, no...not that..." she commented about the girlfriend part. "And uh...lil T?" she raised an eyebrow at Terry. "That sounds way worse than T-pose, that's for sure." She knew Terry had a brother by the way he had talked in the past, but she had never seen any pictures of course or knew the guy personally.
Ananta looked over at the explosion and whistled. "Whoa, that was cool." she commented. Her eyes moved to Aux and she nodded. "A boat does sound like a good idea. I bet if we go to the pier or something we can find one...." she said. "Er...but maybe small wooden ones and not getting a yacht." she corrected, looking towards where there were some boats docked. "Otherwise, we're screwed." (18/31)
Ananta looked towards Aux, listening to him. She nodded at him and stood up once Kaida looked to be doing better. She reached into her own pocket and looked at the SOS ring that she was given. She placed it on her right middle finger and clenched her fist. "He's in ours hearts. Forever and ever, no matter what." Ananta added, smiling with certainty. "I wonder how the others are doing? Do you guys think they're done in their respective worlds?" she asked, looking at Steel and Stratos. "Do you guys have any idea what we can do? If we think together, we can probably figure something out..." She shrugged. "Or we can get another boat and...float off into the sea..." (17/31)
Eva looked inside and then back to Terry. "Who?" she asked, hearing the last part barely. "Um...so yeah, what do you want to buy?" she asked, walking inside with Terry. She saw all the games, but sadly had no money to get anything, so she was left to just look at everything.
Ananta nodded at Stratos, looking at the ring on her own finger. She took the pen from Steel and wrote Hikaru's name on her own wrist. The idea was a good one from Kaida. Ananta was about to make a comment when she saw Kaida's tears. Ananta listened and saw the anguish and sadness on Kaida's face. Ananta was feeling a pain similar, but she wasn't Hikaru's best friend. She wasn't Hikaru's closest friend, but she at least knew the guy and knew what kind of person he was. At least, she was hoping these few memories were of her and Hikaru. Kaida was now on the ground in a ball, having a panic attack. Ananta knelt down and put a hand on Kaida's shoulder, rubbing it gingerly. "It's okay to cry." Ananta whispered to her. Tears were staining her eyes watching Kaida. "We're here for you." (16/31)
"I'm glad I don't play that game..." Eva mumbled. She'd just be wandering aimlessly for hours if she played it. She'd never get anything done, that's for sure. As they walked, the game store could be seen and Eva was amazed how she'd never seen it before. Then again, she rarely ever left her house because her mother was so scared of not hearing from her every five minutes. Thinking of that, Eva pulled her phone out and left her mother a text message, letting her know how the meetup was going. She already snapped a picture of him earlier so she sent it to her mother. Eva put her phone away, hoping her mother would at least approve of him. She ended up bumping into Terry as they approached the store.
Qamar headed towards the house and noticed that the smell was worse here. Her face scrunched in disgust as they approached the house, coming to a stop. Master Thallasa opened the door to reveal a dust covered house full of cauldrons. A small frog had escaped and Qamar managed to scoop it up, holding it gingerly. It croaked at her as it made it's home on Qamar's shoulder. Scanning the room, Qamar's eyes landed on the mountain of cauldrons in the room. Eilonwy asked how they were going to figure out which one was the Black Cauldron. Putting a finger on her chin, Qamar Hmm'd and walked inside, the wood groaning beneath her feet. "Honestly, none of these look too magical or....black cauldron-y." she commented. "Are you sure we're in the right place, Dolly?"
"No I don't know, but you're seriously trying to get on my nerves!" she huffed, turning her face away. Her cheeks were cherry red and she sighed. "Come on, you wouldn't understand." She walked forward, in the direction of the game store. She clenched her fists a little, frustrated at Terry and his antics. She hadn't been keeping track of the current trends on social media, so she was behind.
"That's too cruel...." Ananta said, wiping her eyes. She sobbed and closed her eyes. She thought about what Aux said and took a deep breath. "So are we destined to completely forget him? Everything he's done...it's all just going to..to go to waste? Fading away into nothingness?" Ananta asked, looking at Aux, hoping he knee what was going to happen. When he didn't reply, Ananta looked at Kaida. "NO. I'm not going to just...forget him. I can't accept that." Ananta put a hand to her chest. She felt her heart beating and reached for her crystal necklace. The warmth it radiated reminded her of her loved ones. She sighed and looked at Kaida, a sad look on her face. "Kaida, I'm sorry..I don't know how this has got to feel right now." (15/31)
"No, you'd probably still be stuck back there, waiting on the light." she saw the timer counting down on the crosswalk. Eva began to run, making it across the street and stopping, catching her breath. She looked up at Terry and sighed. "Please pay more attention, you goof ball. I don't wanna leave you behind."
Ananta looked over at a worried Kaida. She walked over and put a hand on Kaida's shoulder, listening to her. "Of course I remember, his name is-" she stopped herself, realizing she could not remember the name at all. And every time Steel said a certain word, she couldn't remember what he said. it was as if something was messing with their memories. "Oh no...a...are we...forgetting?" she asked, covering her mouth in horror. "Kaida, this is bad." She said, looking over at Kaida. "I can remember what they said but I can't remember the rest....I know he just...he just sacrificed himself but....but...." Tears flooded Ananta eyes as she held back sobs. (14/31)
They trudged along and Qamar was getting fed up with all this marsh. "I wish we found that place already." she groaned as Fflam and Dolli both went flying off an edge. Qamar ran over, looking over to see the two at the bottom. "Fflam!" she called, jumping off the edge and landed gracefully. She looked down and tried to help him up as Dolly came flying out, yelling about what happened. In the distance, a tree could be seen with a house inside. "Is that where we're supposed to go?" Qamar asked, looking at the rest of the party.
Eva saw Terry looking absently elsewhere and she reached up, snapping her fingers. "Heeeey, earth to T-pose, come in, T-pose." she started off. "Tater tot, get it together. You can't go mindless now, we haven't even walked across the street yet." Eva sighed, putting her hands on her hips. The cross light turned on and was counting down slowly. Eva grabbed Terry's hand and dragged him to cross the street. "Honestly, what would you do if I wasn't your friend?"
Inna had a wide grin on his face as they managed to get the boy to fall. The group got a good look at the boy before he ran off once more. "Damaging him enough means we have to cripple him." Inna said. "Get him in the legs or...the chest." Inna looked at his hands and then opened his spellbook. "Right..." he closed it again, tucking the spellbook away. Inna followed behind the rest, watching them before he finally decided on a spell to try. He aimed his palm forward, focusing his magic. Inna tried and shot a Water Beam at the boy, hoping it'd do enough damage.
"That one was pretty bad." Eva laughed, covering her mouth. "You're lucky I like you, because anybody else would be dying right now." Eva walked off towards the corner, stopping. She realized what she said and she had a slight blush on her face, scratching her cheek and giggling. "So what's the game like?" she asked. "Maybe I"ll borrow it."
