No, that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just trying to explain why it's ridiculous. And let's be real, it's not as if he's the only Marvel character with an absurd name.
I don't think they stereotype you're referencing is as strong as you think it is. Most comicbook fans I've interacted with don't have a problem with change itself, but rather when it's change for no reason that results in something less interesting than the original. Change is inherent to the comicbook culture, especially one currently in a place of a constantly altered status quo due to multiple yearly events. Most of them are okay with change as long as you can justify doing it by doing something interesting with it, which this project does not seem to be doing from what I've heard. It's good to have a wait and see attitude of course, but it's understandable that fans would be a little aggravated with all of these changes being made, especially when the FF films were some of the worst in the last generation of superhero films. I understand simply wanting the characters you like being done right and done well before making any major changes. I should make it clear that I am not one of these people because I am not a fan of FF. I do not care.

this post is probably full of typos. please ignore them.

I love it. It was the Pokemon of my childhood.
For some reason I was never a fan of Pokemon as a kid. I knew it existed but just didn't care. It wasn't until Gen III that I became interested, reading about it online and catching a few episodes, and it wasn't until Gen IV that I started actively seeking it out through the cards and show. I didn't have a DS for Gen IV so only ever played them for about 10 minutes at a time when I got my hands on a cousin's copy or something. Though I played roms of gens 3, 4, and 5 a couple years ago so I have experienced them. And I'm still a fan of Medabots. The first show holds up surprisingly well. The second one holds up not at all, and may be responsible for me moving onto other things when I was a kid.

His name is Hyaclam, a portmanteau of Octoclam, a red octopus Medabot, and Hyaku Shiki, the original gold mobile suit (because he's gold). And of course his ability is Sniper and all of his moves have beam in the name because i don't half ass my puns.
