this is amaury talking about something http://kh-vids.net/threads/i-should-probably-do-something-about-this.150795/#post-4256841
I remember watching the show in 2009 and enjoying it much less than the manga. Though once the manga switched over to monthly it became very bizarre and somewhat incoherent and just straight up indecipherable in places. I don't remember the anime looking that different. iirc there were some pretty big quality variances but stylistically it seemed pretty faithful to the source. been a while though
are you two fans of the series? i've been away from it for so long that i honestly don't know if i'll still like it.
she does have health issues but I couldn't find anything about her dying
um.. no? I don't think so? Where did you get that information? apparently it will be a seasonal thing with 4 chapters a year. sucks but it's more than we had been getting for quite a while. btw i don't know how correct any of this is, it's just stuff i saw in forums without any official translation of leaks.
holy **** d. gray man supposedly making a triumphant return soon. it's been 3 years.
It's probably a wig. That's what they did in 78 and Returns and it will probably serve as both a callback and thematic parallel with costumes and concealing who you actually are from the public. Maybe not, but I don't see them having a Luthor with hair and not having it pull from 78, but Smallville of all things. "The Red Capes are coming" sounds weird, but I really like it as a fun analogy to his mentality, i.e. Superman is an oppressive force that prevents freedom and independence rather than securing it.
there is literally no way anyone could glean that from what you said
I wish the animated movies weren't complete garbage now and that they made more than Batman and Batman: Featuring Superman and the Justice League. The Green Lantern and Wonder Woman ones weren't great but they weren't awful and they sold (more than even the Batman movies sell now, ironically). And how have we gotten through 2013 and 2014 and not gotten a Green Arrow movie? Design the character like Amell's Oliver and it immediately sells better than anything they've done in the last two years. Bruce Timm being back is comforting but Gods and Monsters is really off-putting for me. give me the Judas Contract movie I was told I was getting. give me another Superman movie that's good. Give me a new gods movie prominently featuring Scott Free. Give me a proper Aquaman movie. Give me a Robin movie, like you said. christ give me anything other than Batman for once. it should not be hard and these things are not selling well enough for them to not take chances. except it really kind of doesn't. massively successful and generally critically acclaimed blockbusters vs cheapo direct to dvd movies that even the creators don't care about anymore and almost nobody watches. unless you're referring to the Bruce Timm shows of the 90s and 00s. Then yeah. that stuff's ****ing legendary. Kill la Kill falls into the category of things I admit is good and did enjoy aspects of while watching, but is really not my cup of tea and therefore don't like all that much. it's right there next to ttgl
Yeah, that's part of what I meant by history as Batman Maybe so. but that might be strange with Affleck as a younger Batman. I am curious to see what they do with those movies and after showing me a Robin suit you can't not have a Robin in these movies. That would be mean. It's very hard to say what direction they're going because the things they're pulling from for this movie and that character are odd choices for a new film series. Not bad choice (maybe a little tired), just odd. I'm going to guess that we'll get a Carrie Kelly relatively soon in this series. edit: thinking about it, Jason Todd Robin suit (assuming it's his) is probably less easter egg type thing for the fans and more seeding for a future prequel. That's a strangely deliberate thing to show in this movie and expect "general audiences" who would know nothing about the implications of that shot to get it.
I'm not sure the way the scene plays in the trailer will be how it is in the film. There's some strange editing going on the way it is here and think it might have just been cut strangely for the trailer. It looks like Bruce is out running around (not as Batman for some reason*), presumably helping people, before his building is destroyed. When his building is destroyed the camera lingers behind his back for a while which would be weird if he were screaming about his building, because screaming like that is very much an immediate reaction type of thing. Then he runs towards the collapsing building and into the smoke, then he's embracing some girl. It's hard to tell what specifically he is reacting to in this scene, and I think the only thing we're supposed to take away from it is that he was there and he was directly affected. I'm sure there were people in it so that sucks, but like you said, that reaction doesn't seem appropriate. *Before I finished the trailer my mind was racing and I was speculating if his parents were killed during this fight and if that's what causes him to be Batman and that's why we have a Batman that's already older and that's why he's so immediately opposed to Superman here. Then we see that his parents are killed while he's a kid and that he already has all this history as Batman and that my theory was wrong. I kind of wish that was what's happening but whatever I'm sure it will be fine.
i'm pretty sure that's Bruce in Metropolis during the Zod fight watching a Wayne tower get heat-visioned or whatever. if that's what you're talking about i could be wrong
when i watched the trailer the last thing i expected to see was Gotham by Gaslight Batman my apprehension for this movie is very slowly being taken away with each trailer. it's looking so good.
and was thinking about how Dawn... Apes and Age of Extinction are polar opposites. one is an experiment in how unlikable can we make every single character the other is how sympathetic, sufficiently motivated, or at least understandable can we make everyone. one is how much action can we shove into this thing to distract people from the story and characters. the other is how sparingly can we use action so the audience is not distracted from the character-driven dramatic story. one disrespects its audience by telling an incoherent mess of a story and tries to trick them into thinking its about something the other expects its audience to be able to follow the psychology of the characters and understand the nuances of human interaction with a foreign species used as an analogue to our own one has cgi monkeys the other has cgi robots and the list goes on to one thousand but you get the point
yeah it's very easy to just.. not... go to a website. almost 100% of my knowledge and perception of tumblr is informed by people outside of it. i don't like what i've heard, so i don't go to it and am therefore not bothered by it. i didn't even know this show was a thing on tumblr. i can see how something could come off gratuitously progressive, and this most certainly can be a problem if not handled delicately, but it's not immediately a negative. though i've not seen one second of the show and have no idea if this is actually a problem with it. but given that it's not something i've heard from like-minded people, i'm inclined to think it's not.
jflynn comeback stream is the place to be tonight he's already broken out the Australian accent and is waving a gun around. it's great. this is great. edit: stream was glorious. i sat from 6 to ~12 almost completely uninterrupted and step away for 5 minutes towards the end and he catches the shiny. gdi. tournaments the next two days. i missed this.
do you by chance like the show kill la kill
i dont like the way the show looks this is not a real criticism and is totally on me, but its a big part of why i havent felt like watching it. there arent enough sharp lines and there are too many shades of red pink and purple. it looks like a box of mixed berry antacid tablets i dont know if this is actually true but its the image i have in my head
i dont know man all i said was hooray another person whose opinion seems to be in the minority. beyond that its stuff that you brought to the conversation. there is some non sequitur going on here. i dont have the experience in this show to agree with that statement in its entirety and therefore cannot disagree, but extending that to mean that i agree with each component of a multi faceted statement does not work when it has already been firmly established that i have not seen all of the show, that i was not speaking on the statement itself, and that my quoting the statement was due to its novelty from my own perspective. there is a history of miscommunication between us and i'm not sure why it continues to be a problem. perhaps the ways we interpert information and fill in the gaps with our own inferences are very different on a subconscious level
i did not know it was 4. i thought it was 3 yes amaury, that is a very basic logical conclusion that i would hope no one capable of any level of discussion needs to be reminded of.
