August 20th 2020 Wammy's Children Home Wincester England It was a warm summer evening in the Winchester based children's home where the greatest young minds in the world were assembled to be raised and trained to become the next World's Greatest Dectective. Though the time had long passed when the youngsters there's goal was to become the next L, they were now aspiring to become the new N. The title L was no longer for the Greatest Detective, it was one for N's second. A replacement for Watari if you will. But on this evening the children had once again been gathered before the vast plasma screen with the black Old English Font 'N' glowing softly against a white background stretched across it. "Hello children." Came the robotic mixed voice they had come to know as Near. "Hello Near!" They replied in unison, as they always did. Leaving a faint smile on the lips of the man behind the microphone, though of course they didn't know that. "Tonight I have some very special news for you all, something that means a great deal to all of you I'm sure: I'm planning to retire." He said, dropping the bombshell onto the children and carers alike. However he was breifly interupted by a different voice going through the same filter, a person who was evidently in the same room as him. "I know you're white-haired but I didn't think you were that old!" The voice said with a giggling feel to it. Leaving the younger of the children in stitches and the adults, who knew full well who the female voice was, muttered their disapproval of her amongst themselves. "Yes, thank you L." Near's mixed voice muttered defensively. "Now, you all know what this means I hope: It means I'll be watching my shortlist of successors, you know who you are. Your cases shall be delivered to you all within the week along with futher details. Good night children." "Good night Near!" "Nighty night ya rabble." Came the female voice again as there was a faint thud, leading to the conclusion that Near may of been shoved out of the way. "Night L!" The children giggled as the connection was cut, they were all shepared out to their rooms if they were little or let to go to common rooms if they were older. Last week my computer crashed due to a vrius. I had to reformmat it and update it. After finally finishing all of the updates I went back to using it like I always do. But when I went to youtube to listen to some music and random videos the sound wasn't work. I thought it might of been the speakers so I tried plugging them in a different place and headphones. Neither worked. My mom found out that the audio codec wasn't installed she she installed it. Everything should be working but it's not. Any help? =/
Time setting: Modern day Earth Location: Cincinatii, Ohio Magic have been hidden since anyone can remember thanks to special beings that humans think of Grim Reapers. But then it was exposed. By a girl who admitted to have murdered someone. But the body was torn into pieces. Not something a human could do. Like it exploded from the inside. How did you do that? "I lost control." Of what? "My powers." She was sent to the asylum. Mad at the world, she espaced, and of course, chased down. When the cops finally found her in a gas station just off of the high way she was forced to using her powers to get away. The event was caught on camera. All who were there came down with a sudden case of amnesia and the tape was sent into goverment hands. Or more speficly, the G.I.s hands. (Lame name I know. By the way for those who don't know gi stands for goverment issued.) A detrimed reporter close by the gas station wanted to know what happened. He, with some help, got a copy of the tape and thought that the public should know the truth. So he had it aired on the news. Too bad he didn't know about the unbalance of power at the moment. The 'Grim Reapers' were unable to use all of their powers at the moment let alone rewind and change time. They couldn't undo the exposion of magic. When people with powers learned that they knew that they didn't have to fear the reapers anymore and did as the pleased, using their powers to get away from the police, killing a few along the way. Every human has powers, though only a few have the gift to unlock and use them. Now it's the reapers vs the trouble making magic users vs the goverment. With everyone tapped inbetween. Groups: Rebels: People who use their powers for their own needs. They follow their own set of rules and refuse to take orders unless they are in their own little rebel group, then they will take orders from their boss. Some of the groups are gangs and such. Just your every day rebel with a dose of power. Citizens: Every day people who are just trying to get by. Can have powers but doesn't really have the need or want to use them. G.I.s and goverment: They people who are blamed for what is happening even though they are trying to fix everything. The G.I. is a branch of the goverment whose job is to take care of this kind of stutation who the goverment think of as dispoable, thankfully they don't care and won't rebel because they are people who vaule peace above all else. It isn't that old though. Grim Reapers: Not under any group Their real name is unknown but the humans call them Grim Reapers because the first one they saw was dressed in a black cloak and his weapon of choice was a schyce and he was going into the relam of the dead. They don't collect souls as we think they do however they normally are able to take powers froms people. (I said normally because due to the lack of balance in powers they cannot at the moment.) Their job is to keep order among the worlds and there are only five of them on Earth. They have the power to travel through time and to differnt relams, like the relam of the dead and so on, the problem is that they can't change time at the moment. Rules: -No power playing -No killing characters without premission -If you get hurt then stay hurt, healers are rare and even they remain hurt, they only heal the wounds not the pain -If you want to make up a new species or have it as unknown ask me first. -Meh I might add them as I go. Species: Grim Reaper Group: History: Grey was the first grim reaper to be spotted, although he still owns his traditional outfit and scythe, he has had to change his appearance hundreds of times to fit with the current decade. He wanders around, traveling as much as he can to find as many humans who have unlocked their powers as possible and either eliminating the one who used their power or correcting a mistake, although now he can't due to some seemingly unknown reason. Appearance: Dresses completely in black(Grey doesn't like colors other than white and black), usually wearing a black hoodie. He has white hair and golden eyes, stands at about 6 feet tall. Other: Usually conceals various sorts of weapons under his clothing. Played by: Starkiller Name: Hondo Age: 16 Gender: male Power: Super speed. He literally has the power of super speed, being what some might even believe to be the fastest man on earth. Species: Human Group: Rebel History: Refered to as a land pirate. He lives a very similure life style to that of a pirate, doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants, however he wants. It has been nearly impossible for him to be captured due to his high speed, being able match higher speeds then cars if he really tries. Unlike most people, he cannot control the magic abilities, and so they all are stored within his legs, allowing them to move at incredible speeds. It's supposed to be a school for the gifted, but when you arrive you are greeted by none other than L himself! Once settled, you are quick to realise that every teacher is actually a Death Note character, including Light Yagami himself, though he has lost his memories of being Kira (in short, the likeable Light from when Ryuk takes the Death Note). However, not all is safe in L's academy. A nameless Shinigami has dropped a Death Note there. When this is picked up by a students, it becomes a race against time to discover these new Kiras before the world is once again in danger. Worst of all, Light could regain his memories. Every Death Note character is available to be played, though we need at least 2 students. I play my OC and any canon characters that are not yet filled. I'm not confident with canon personalities, so... yeah... I don't want this to suck. If you are a character with a Death Note, you may only kill another character if you abide by these rules. 1. Your character must have somehow found out their name. 2. The person playing that character must come to some agreement with you (i.e. delaying the death, dramatic death etc...) The circumstances of this agreement may cause Rule 3 to become invalid (i.e. accidental death) 3. Must speak to the character immediately prior to the death in a similar manner to what Light did with Naomi, L and Near (at least, tried to with Near ). You know, "I'm Kira, and you're dead now, mwuhahahahaha!" except more subtle. 4. Give other characters at least SOME chance to stop you. (i.e. interrupt you when you're about to write their name, switch your Death Note for a fake like Near did or soemthing along those lines). Marcus eventually found foster parents and in time managed to win the scholarship to L's academy. Marcus promised that once he graduated, he'd use his new skills to track down his little brother. Personality quirks: Likes video games almost to the point of obsession, hence the codename Snake (taken from Solid Snake, star of the Metal Gear Solid series). When explaining theories he tends to use video games as explaination and spends most of his free time gaming. Always keeps her lower arms covered with either sleeves or some form of arm warmers. Her preference being her favourite black and white striped ones with ‘corset’ style lacing down the sides. The rest of her clothes tend to be feminine but also very gothic. Luna is also skinny to the point of being able to see nearly all her ribs. Back story: She grew up in a rather run down orphanage / children’s home in Kent, England where she was despised by the other children and often ignored completely by the adults. The name similarity between her and L is no coincidence, she is in fact a relative of him. Though it’s so distant that neither of them know nor would either care. She completed the English Education system by the time she was 13 and finished her first course at Oxford university the year before she came to Japan. She is fluent in Japanese and German as well as her first language of English thanks to her speed at picking up languages. Personality quirks: Luna spends most of her spare time with either a ‘classic’ book such as ‘Jayne Eyre’ or a shounen-ai Manga such as ‘Loveless’ Either way it’s very rare to see her minus a book of some sort. She also has a tendency to sit on the floor whenever possible. Normally in a very childlike manner. Being insanely accident prone and a rather large jinx is also another issue Luna faces. Played by CarbuncleGem Name: Diary Real Name: Destiny Hazard Gender: Girl Age: 17 Appearance: Long, straight dark brown hair and dark blue eyes, but her eyes change colors. 5'3", and always wears loose grey or blue jeans and some long sleeved shirt or sweatshirt. Backstory: She lived in America before getting the scholarship for this new school, although most of her teachers and peers were shocked to hear that she was accepted into the school. She had never gotten great grades, although her test scores were amazing. She was made fun of by some fellow students, though she ignored them, and really only spoke when answering a question from a teacher or when around her close friends. This was not because she was shy, but because she had nothing to say. Personality Quirks: Diary usually never sits normally, she sits with either one or both feet on the chair she is sitting on. Easily amused, she can use anything to ease boredom. She draws often, especially during class, but this doesn't mean she's not listening. She is also totally addicted to ice cream. xD Player: advent_of_apocalypse Name: Just Real Name: Jacob Prower Gender: Male Age: 17 Appearance: Moderate-length brown hair, 5'11", moderate build, typically wears at least one headphone. Back story: He never much liked socializing in his old school, but at L's Academy, he can more easily socialize because of the presence of others of his intelligence. He has a serious personality when he is working, and occasionally when he isn't. He is almost constantly listening to music mainly because it stimulates his mind. He is extremely interested in the supernatural, yet somewhat skeptical to believe in it.
I need 500 pages done before Christmas break which is no big deal for me but I am having trouble picking a book. I want a book with at LEAST 200 pages and the aurthor so I can find it easily in the media center. Any suggestions?
