Hey guys! Remember how a few weeks ago I added Canned Replies? Remember how the idea was cool, but there were some horrible horrible flaws? Well, after a bit of searching, installing, and testing, we have a new system for you! It does pretty much the same thing--though it's called Post Templates--and offers a bit more support and control than the original did. So what are Post Templates, exactly? Well, you know how some users format their posts with custom colors, sizes, and so on? It gets tedious having to do that everytime you post, and Post Templates makes that easier! With it you can simply select what type of custom formatting you'd like to add to the post and have it done automatically for you. How do I set them up? - Head on down to your User CP (click Settings on the topbar, or just click here). - Scroll all the way to the bottom of the left-most column. There should be a link that says 'Manage Post Templates'. Click on it! - On the new page, create your first category. You must have a category to have a post template. You can make as many categories as you like. - Once you've got your first category set up, hit the 'Create Template' button. - Select what category you'd like this template to be in, add a title, some sample text, and then format it how you'd like. Keep in mind, of course, that other users are going to have to look at this, so be considerate in your formatting. - Click 'Save Changes'. You now have your first post template! From here, you can edit it, delete it, or add a new one. How do I use them? - When you go to the Reply (or New Thread) screen, there should be a little dropdown that says 'Post Templates' on it. - Choose the template you want. The sample text you put into your User CP will show, with the proper formatting applied. - Now you can just change the text to the body of your post. Have fun! Post Templates have been tested in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, and Opera, with no issues. If you are encountering problems, make sure you are using the latest version of the browser. The Canned Replies system will be removed on May 1st, 2011. Please move all of your canned replies to the new system! Sorry for the inconvenience!

As some of you all may know, there was a time period when we'd get a new forum theme every year around KHV's birthday. I always liked the tradition, it was like new year, new style for the site. And I intended to keep that up, so in December I started playing around. As you can tell, it took me quite some time (hence why I'm putting it up in March instead of December), but I think it's worth the wait. It is a revamp of our style khv4.0v2, as the name suggests. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. =] Don't like it? No problem! We still have the original khv4.0v2 up for use, as well as the ever wonderful NobodiesReprieve.

It seems I have gotten a splinter on my right pointer finger. I'm right handed. This makes using a mouse, a keyboard, any sort of writing implement, forks, etc painful. :'c

As many of you may know, our Video Portal has not been offering the best of services as of late. The staff have long discussed replacing it, but have struggled to find the best solution. Today we're proud to announce our new Video Portal! You can reach it by clicking the 'Video Portal' tab on the navigation bar underneath the banner, or by simply clicking HERE. Features: Video Submission: Video Submission now can only be done via links to the video hosted elsewhere (the option to upload directly from your machine does not currently exist, unfortunately). On the bar underneath the main navigation, there is the 'Submit Media' button. From there, you can enter the link to the video, and edit the information that will appear on our Video Portal. Currently, we support videos from DailyMotion, Megavideo, Metacafe, uStream, Veoh, Vimeo, and most of all, YouTube! Categories: For your submitting and viewing convenience, videos can now be sorted into categories! We also have set aside a category for us to submit all of our Cutscenes and Boss Battles--so if you're ever bored, you can simply sit back and enjoy some Kingdom Hearts videos! Favorites: You can now build a list of your favorite videos on the KH-Vids Video Portal! To favorite a video, simply click the small heart icon at the upper left of the video: Don't want the video anymore? No problem! Simply unclick the heart. Playlists: You can also create playlists of videos for even more organization! Random Media: Don't know what you want to watch today? Hitting our Random Media button will generate any video from what I'm sure will be a bustling Video Portal for you to view. Commenting: Want to leave the video's creator a little feedback? Leave them a comment! Subscriptions: With the new Video Portal, you will be automatically subscribed to each of your submissions. What does this mean? You'll receive a private message everytime someone comments on your video. If you don't like this feature, then you can by all means remove a video from your subscriptions via the Subscriptions page! Search: Looking for a video from a specific game? Want to see a Riku centered video? Just put your search terms into the search box and start viewing. Statistics: To the right of our Video Portal, you can see who our Top 10 Contributors are (something to strive for!), how many videos are in our Portal, how many times videos have been commented on, and more! Report Media: Find something you don't think is appropriate? Hit the Report button and one of our moderators will review it! Complete Forum Integration: The new portal attaches right to the Forum, so what does this mean? For one thing, you only have one login on KH-Vids. Secondly, on your Profiles there is now a 'Media' tab that displays all of your uploads! And if you use a style other than the default, the Video Portal will match it! But where did the old Video Portal go!? Still need to retrieve some stuff from there? Want to access it for any reason at all? No problem! Though we will no longer support the old video portal, you can still visit it HERE. I've found a problem in the new Portal / I need help! The Portal is still very new--it has been tested, but problems may still exist. If you come across one, please let us know, either via a message to a staff member or by simply posting in this thread.
