I think Nova is just trying to build a case like the rest of us have doing. It's not like two other people jumped on the lynch wagon right away and I thought "one of you are Mafia for sure trying to take an opportunity to lynch a town." But I do need to review Nova's case again and his posts in general to get a better idea of his alignment and his style. So that may change but right now I see what he's doing with me the same as me trying to grill Al. I still think Spoldge is Mafia (you guys have eased up a bit on that though) and tbh, if this is a Mafia "strategy" or just a wishy washy weird new town, I already lean to Mafia but even I can't say for sure. As for what Cstar said, about scumteam or lover, remember we can talk to our lovers and the Mafia have their own day chat so if someone doesn't like what we're doing, or what their doing, they/we can tell them/us to stop. (I mean I would say that's good advice for everyone) If I was Mafia or his lover I would be like "Dude no wtf" and Splodge wouldn't be able to blink at how fast I would yell at him with "HEY DONT DO THAT please." He wouldn't have made it to changing to Cstar. I hope you guys have some faith in me that I wouldn't let the new people, even if they were my lover, mess up my chances of helping us to a town victory xD (I'm not trying to bash the new players btw. Mafia is a team game we all work together even if you're learning, making mistakes is part of that so don't worry)
I don't know if I told you guys but I'm actually at the cottage and can't really reply, but whenever I get home I'll try to reply to all the posts, or people can ask me questions. Whatever works best for you guys tbh, but I'll let you know when I'm back so we can go from there. Also Makaze, I voted for Al in one of my posts. It was bolded and everything but no worries. I don't think I'll be back in 15 hours though, so I want to also vote to ##Extend Deadline I'm worried about Mafia trying to push a lynch on me because I can't defend myself, using the case Nova built up as a push for that. I don't think Nova's Mafia attempting to do that or anything, but I think it could be taken advantage of. Anyway I'm sorry guys! I'll see ya soon.
Al talking about "Town Players" in the third person concerns me a little bit. It could just be a phrasing choice, but I found last game most people said "us" when talking about the members of the town alignment... since we were town. After that Al says "We came to the consensus as a Town", but why is adding the Town part relevant? Is this implying that the members of the Mafia didn't agree? Or that the people who didn't agree are member of the Mafia? And if so, who were those members who said that we should be looking at the lovers, because the way this sentence is made it sort of seems like Al's implying the people who disagreed read as Mafia. However, I do agree with Al that any kind of theory on Judge's part may change the game, especially looking at what he did last game. Al's latest post still just seems too constructed. He seems to be thinking about too much about his wording and writing, and he spends a lot of time depending himself more then making an actual theory. And instead of making an actual theory he's asking me more questions (which I actually answered right after accidentally, so my bad?). He isn't the only one with questions about my activity though so I'm willing to let THAT slide. Everything else though seems very thought out, and not in a good way.
Tbh, I haven't been feeling that great today so I've just been passing out periodically, which is why I keep falling off the face of the earth haha. Anyway, after reading Al's rebuttal, to me it seems sort of half-sincere. The answers seemed more calculated and thought about then genuine. The tone I'm getting off of it seems more calculated and thought out then a genuine "hey I wasn't here.". I think keeping an eye on Al and seeing if he can make his own case WITHOUT using anything people have already said, or for someone we haven't talked about much would make me change my mind, slightly. Marushi was correct in her post about Splodge's defense not holding that much weight. Even though Al's still on my scum radar I do agree with him about Splodge playing extremely defensively, maybe even panicked. Splodge responded about Al AFTER Al started pointing the finger at him, which makes me wonder if he's only parroting what we've already said about Al because he wants us to focus on Al instead of him. I've read through everything else but instead of replying to quote I think I'm just going to go through everyone in the game so far. Nova: Nova hasn't posted too much, but I was glad that Cstar voted him earlier. This is because other then Makaze he is probably the most experienced player and we should all be keeping an eye on him. He may be the hardest person to read this game if he is indeed Mafia. Cstar: Cstar is flying under the radar similar to last game, but now she is starting to ask people questions and participate more. This could either be because she's Mafia and doesn't want to make the same mistake twice, or because she's town and she genuinely wants to break out of the impression most of us got from last game. Jiku: Jiku reads as Mafia to me, and it isn't so much because of the numbers, I think keeping track of that kind of stuff is helpful to an extent, but I would like an explanation on why those numbers in those cases are helpful. Is it because people who post less and change their votes more are suspicious? Is it simply to show how active players are being? Were their any games before this one that "proved" that this kind of number system does show some accuate results. Judge: I'm on the fence about Judge this game. He's not as strong as he was last game, however, last game he DID have the cop role and that could have been responsible for it. Karuta: I geniually think that Karuta is just new and trying to figure out the game. Now, if we're also going to say that about Splodge and Korosu, notice how different Karuta and their attitudes are. Splodge is now defensive, Korosu fell into that vein as well, but Karuta seems actually sort of confused in some of his posts. Korosu: Since @tribbles asked anyway, Korosu hasn't said a lot but what they have said generally hasn't been entirely helpful. And if you're an unhelpful town you're practically helping the Mafia. I would like to see her post more before deciding about her. Marushi: Marushi seems pretty pro-town, but I don't want anyone falling into the trap that could be "If I act as pro-town as I did last game, then they won't suspect me". However, unlike Al, Marushi is still making strong cases, which leds me to believe she is town, for now. Midnight: Midnight is trying to be more assertive this game since her indecisiveness punished her last. We haven't seen too much from her but I'm hoping we'll get more posts in the future. Mish: Mish seems to have taken the advice she was given last round. She is a lot more vocal and is posting a lot more, which leads me to believe that she is town. Saxima: I think we were confusing Saxima's personality with thinking she was suspicious. She's changed her language in her posts now and though I don't have an opinion on her yet, I think we can clear out that she was acting "strangely" before when we're comparing her to her current content
I'm going to answer this by answering the other quotes, but to summarize, Korosu and Splodge seem most suspicious to me. Al is also included in this because he isn't posting as much and for reasons I'll say below. Korosu didn't seem to answer whether he knew Karuta had a vote on him or not. From what I can see in the thread he reiterated that it was random but didn't answer Al's first part of the question. I could be wrong, though, and if he did I think my points still stand by themselves anyway: Now, Korosu hasn't played Mafia before, but if they know anything about Marushi and her playstyle, they know Marushi is determined to be right when voting and is generally a bit headstrong (which isn't always a bad thing Marushi) If they followed last game or even just heard things from word of mouth, Karuta may seem like a good choice to join the bandwagon on for a new player, especially a new mafia who figures Marushi won't yet move her vote. The other possibility is that they could both be Mafia, but I haven't decided on Marushi's alignment yet. Regardless I still find Korosu suspicious in that regard. They could be a self-serving townie who is still using Marushi's play style to get someone lynched today, but as a Mafia it would make a lot more sense. I also agree with what Splodge said on Korosu, however, the "on the fence" approach to lynching Korosu off makes me think it's possible they both could be Mafia together. The feeling is weak enough they don't want to lynch them yet, but it's also strong enough they even brought up the point in the first place. This could also be a Mafia trying to grasp for straws in order to make a case to devoid suspicion, and Korosu and Splodge aren't Mafia. The indecisive attitude is what makes me suspect him, as Mafia have trouble building strong cases because they know it's a fabrication. @Mish wanted further reasoning about Al. Now, Al "drawing a blank" considers me, especially because he was so strong in his choices last game. Again, it's the indecisiveness that leads me to that conclusion. Al did do a much of responses earlier, but in this post he is working off what other people have already said instead of what he thinks himself. He also says "It's frustrating to have to be so passive", but what else is making him passive? Is it because of his lover? Or is it because he's Mafia and he can't build a proper case. The wording and this post in general makes me put Al on the radar. Comparing how he played last game to this game, it's a big difference. The nature of the game itself is different as well, but looking at the other players behavior who last game were town, like say, Marushi, it hasn't changed as much as Al's has. @Marushi and @Saxima I saw you also thought Al was suspicious, but I know Marushi, you couldn't put your finger on it, could this be it? On this note, I think we have enough people suspecting Al that at this point, it can't just be a coincidence we all think he's acting a bit weird. [QUOTE="Splodge, post: 4285213, member: 60874" Sunrose is making me feel a bit suspicious too. A lot of the posts he's made have been about the game structure and losing possibilites, which seems kind of... off to me. Can't really explain it, just seems a bit sus, as he's very caught up in the actual structure, and not nessecarily what people are actully saying. He was also quick to attack cal, and read her as mafia, even though that early on, she was getting a fairly strong town read from me. [/QUOTE] I disagree, I think focusing on the game mechanics is a good thing because it made us all aware this could go horribly wrong. And you sort of planted the idea that he read me as Mafia when he didn't say that at all. There isn't anything that could remotely be taken there as a misunderstanding, and for that I think you thought we wouldn't go back and fact check? Or you were trying to get away with that. This reads as majorly suspicious for me. To summarize, Nova hit it on the head in terms of suspecting Splodge, Korosu still seems suspicious for reasons I said above, and though I want to see what everyone else has to say about Al, I think it's time to start prodding him further.[DOUBLEPOST=1469809966][/DOUBLEPOST]( Something happened to Splodge's last quote but I can't fix it so sorry haha )[DOUBLEPOST=1469810254][/DOUBLEPOST]@al215 Consider this your prodd. ##Vote: Al215
I'm just sort of at a loss for what to do haha, which doesn't happen too often. Tomorrow I'll probably review what I've missed and go from there.
Lol it's fine. That wasn't exactly where I was going so I was confused XD[DOUBLEPOST=1469741016][/DOUBLEPOST]Saying things pre-emptively has not gone well for me in the past lol, I would keep that in mind.
When did I say that?
Also the probablity of picking Karuta as a "random name" is 1/13. I'm not saying it's unlikely, but at the same time I don't buy it was entirely random, espesically when Karuta already has another vote.
http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=WIFOM[DOUBLEPOST=1469739928][/DOUBLEPOST]It's better to see it then explain
I think it wouldn't hurt for the first day, but in the future I don't think it is a great idea to use all the time. Lynching the quiet ones could potentinally be really dangerous and take out our more active members which becomes a problem that we can talk about more in the future.
In a normal game, they would have a nightchat where they could decide to use the plan the next day. It doesn't really matter, if they want to use it it's a sped up process anyway. Now in GENERAL if we shouldn't talk about Mafia plans that's a different story lol. But the nature of this game doesn't change that.
Are you voting for Karuta because he already has a vote on him from Marushi or did you pick at random?
If it was an intentional misdirection, I think the response would have been more like "whoops you got me" (obviously a little bit less obvious then that, something like "Oh...") it doesn't mean he can't be Mafia, I'm just saying I think it was an actual "error" Secondly, why would a member of the Mafia want to admit or trick us into thinking they only have one lover? Espesically since I said we could lynch them on the basis that they only had one lover? Even if they have two town lovers, that's still one Mafia down. It just isn't a great stragegy. On an entirly different note, the Mafia have probably told each other who their lovers are at this point in order to try to avoid them from getting lynched. This also makes me wonder if the people quickly running to Splodge's defense are his lovers (Mafia or Town) who don't really feel like dying rn.
I thought we talked last game about WIFOM arguements. Thank you for clearing that up.
Splodge may have just admitted he only has 1 lover instead of the possible two lovers. Which means if we decide to lynch Splodge today, only one person will end up dying along side him. Something to think about.
Woohoo! Let's do this guys! It's gonna be really fun no matter who wins so I'm excited.
