Steel could not succeed in holding back his laughter. He stood at the top of the staircase, above them all expressing merriment as if their pain meant nothing. Maybe it didn't. Only his next words would tell. "What a fool-HAHAHAHA" It seemed he just couldn't stop, but he pulled himself together for a few moments. He cleared his throat. "Krowley... I had no idea you associated... with such... Imbeciles-HAHA!" He burst out laughing once more. He fell to the ground and rolled around a bit; his book fading in a puff of black smoke. He knew it was overkill, but if he was going to laugh about such a petty insult, he might as well make a show of it. Besides; it would give him the chance to test how fragile Aux's pride was. After a few moments, he finally calmed down and rose from the floor. "Whew. Anyway. 'You make it too easy'? Anyone who talks like that is just begging to be destroyed." He kept his next thoughts to himself: the people who made it easiest usually weren't to be trifled with. As difficult as it would be for his friend, imagine the sweet sorrow Aux should feel were Krowley to be the one to impale him. He licked his lips at the thought: Not that anyone could see it. He returned his attention to the situation. He noticed Luna on the ground and frowned momentarily. However, no one noticed the swing in mood before it came full circle. He giddily jumped from the top of the stairs to a position safely between Luna and Aux. He knew that could make her his target, but things would wind up okay. "Honestly, I don't see why my companions see fit waste valuable breath threatening you, seeing as how you're practically doomed anyway." He wore a smug smile; another action no one could see. "Or at least, their breath is more valuable than the smog spewing out of -your- mouth. I mean, seriously, how much jealousy did you eat?" He honestly wasn't aware of how much of the problem was jealousy, as Aux's emotional makeup was difficult to decipher. However, a persons actions were influenced by many emotions, even if they weren't always aware of which ones: He could definitely sense jealousy in there somewhere. Steel swung his arm forward and summoned his keyblade. He took up his fencing position, and with an elegant taunt motion stated: "I have two more words of compassion for you my dear foe: 'Al and Toids'. He resumed his stance. "Or would you prefer 'Ice' and 'breaker?"

Goodbye. Banned.
Steel silently flipped through the pages of his book amongst the goings-on around him. He spoke up to answer D'daear's question. "Technically he is counted among foe, yet at this point, to fight him would be to counteract our dear leaders' purpose. I would recommend preparing yourself, but don't pull out any bladed objects just yet." He directed his gaze at Base and Luna as he said this last part. "You want to talk to him, don't you Krowley?" It wasn't so much a question as a matter of fact statement. He gestured with a free hand. "Then talk." He went back to his book to find a particularly interesting scene awaiting him.
Steel glanced at the wrist of his gauntlets only to remember that he didn't have a watch. He looked outside, but of course the place might as well have been in perpetual night. He remembered he had a stopwatch in his cloak but... that needed to remain hidden away for now. He decided to pull out a book and read throughout the escort: Aux would probably make the mistake of thinking he was too cocky and not paying any attention. He reached into his cloak and pulled out.... The Emerald Atlas. "Ooh. New York Times Bestseller... Isn't that like on -every- book?"

Catch More Pokemon!
Steel got a little upset that his warning was only heeded by the one person who didn't quite get it. He decided to just be silent and observe; no one really wanted him around anyway. He was the "Dark" guy. Just some weirdo that they figured would betray them, and would probably just destroy him themselves in the end. So for now, it was just his job to sit around and do nothing but fight when told... Like a Blizzagolem... Beuce better not write on him... and definitely better not breathe on him. He shivered. Getting back to the situation at hand, it seemed the Ball would go on as planned. They would need to keep an eye out for Aux, Unversed, and Heartless. He paused for a moment. Did Beast know to continue with their plans for the evening? "Umm..." He began. Then remembered he wasn't going to talk. Best to remain silent. "You're being a jerk." He heard a distinct voice state inside of his head. "So what?" He replied back. "Contrary to what they think, I'm still (a form of) human. We tend to be like that sometimes. Both I and they will get over it." He shrugged. "If they want to know what I have to say, they'll ask."

Steel was banging his head against the wall next to the door; this was not going well. However, Base's sentence about how obnoxious he was gave him a brilliant idea. He suddenly stopped banging his head, looked towards the others and with sudden energy and a straight face stated: "Base is absolutely right!" Not taking a moment to view his companions likely confusion, he continued. "You don't have the time to sit around listening to our obnoxious machinations! Allow us to escort you to the ballroom to satiate or concerns." He nodded his head. "Yes, because that's what people like us do: escort. Without interfering. So that People can make their own choices, and come to their own conclusions." He knew he wasn't being very subtle, but he didn't really care. "Yes... we don't interfere."
Steel coughed loudly whenever Base mentioned something Belle wasn't supposed to know... so he coughed through most of his speech. *Ahem. "Oh, I'm sorry. Please excuse that little coughing fit. Yes, we are indeed the people you saw in the west hall. We came to talk to you, and on our way over we saw a mysterious man. We gave chase, but he disappeared. We became quite concerned and wanted to check on you immediately." He paused. "It seems however that you are in no danger." This made him wonder what Aux had been doing.
