Cuddles her back "Thank you," he says, "Like I said earlier this evening, I try my best." He kisses her again and then leads her to the building, hand in hand. "And I'm glad you understand me," he added, "Not many people do."
"Well," he said, "Looks like we're here..." He takes her hand and helps her out of the limosine. He sees everyone else entering the building. Quickly looking around, he leads her to a couple of shadowed trees. "Before we go in...um..." he stammers as he looks into her eyes. He gulps loudly and then softly kisses her on the lips. After what seems like an eternity, he pulls away. "I was going to wait until later to try..." he barely gets out, "...but I didn't want you to feel jealous or unwanted because of the little party that went on in the car." He smiles at her, hoping that he hasn't crossed any lines.
He smiles at her "The only manga I have are the Kingdom Hearts adaptations, though I have a great collection of western comics and graphic novels." "And..." he added, fighting with himself, "I love action figures." Looks around and sees everyone kissing. This is just making me nervous about doing it myself, he thinks. I don't want to jump on a bandwagon over here.
He catches her looking at his quizzically. "Oh, I was just thinking of this cartoon I used to watch when I was a child. They came out on DVD recently. Do you like cartoons?" Idiot! he chided himself. Now she'll think you're just like a little kid! Talk about sophisticated things! And under no circumstances, his voice of doubt added. are you to mention your action figure collection.
Jack thinks for the moment that he'd rather be curled up with Gharanth on the couch at home, watching cartoons and remembering a time when you could get away with sophisticated adult-style references on a kids show. He glances at Gharanth again. Helloooo, Nurse! he thinks to himself, chuckling slightly.
Looking around the limosine, Jack decided he was glad that if only one person shared his opinions and discomfort regarding this ball, that it was his own date. He smiles to himself and looks at Gharanth. You lucked out, boyo, he told himself, now don't screw this up.
"...day and night It's only right To think about the girl you love And hold her tight So happy together..." Continues singing, hitting the harmonies.
He looks at her and smiles, holding her closer. He closes his eyes and lays his head back on the seat, and begins to hum The Turtles' "Happy Together"
Holds Gharanth close in the car, wishing for all the world that the company they were in liked halfway decent music, and doubting this heavily.
Sighs and takes her arm, putting his Vincent Price voice back on. "Yes, I guess we should. Looks over at her and tentatively kisses her cheek before looking away nervously.
Closes his eyes, partially pertified, partially relieved. I hope that limo never comes, he thinks.
He hugs her tightly to him, reluctant to let go. "You flatter me" is all his throat is able to get out.
He gulped loudly and found himself moving closer to her. "I want to thank you for being here with me."
He held hers back and gazed into her eyes. "Not a problem," he had, for now, reverted to his true voice, "Frankly...I'm only here for you anyway." He smiled and hoped that didn't sound too fake. He remembers with disdain other times when he had been completely sincere about his feelings and having the other party take them as hokey.
"Neither am I," he said, trying desperately to keep his mind off of any possible yet unlikely double-meanings this statement might have. Smiling again, albeit nervously, he added "Lead the way."
Finds himself lost in her gaze for a second, comes back to reality only when the photographer indicates that he would like to take our picture while he's still youthful.
Two Hannahs that I knew from Kindergarten through 5th grade, and I haven't seen since.
2012 100 more and you've got a wonderful Rush album.
2005 The year I graduated from High School and started college.
He puts away the spare and smiles at her. "I knew you wouldn't disappoint, but better safe than sorry." Leads them to the photographer. "This will certainly be a night to remember." he thinks aloud.
