"I dunno... But I can't help but feel like we're in danger..."Valerie looked over the island to the ground. "Think we could make that jump?"she asked. "Oi! Get down before the heartless shows up!"Riku yelled, below the bridge. "How?"Valerie asked. "Just jump into the water and swim!"Riku said.
"Who knows..."Valerie paused, her cheeks sparking red. "Something's up..."she said. "Maybe we should tell them to get closer to the group..."Irvine looked over to the two at the paopu tree. "aww, and ruin their moment?"Selphie giggled. Riku sighed, going to get the two in case of an attack, oblivious that the attack had already started.
"Yeah, it's great..."Valerie sighed, climbing onto the paopu tree to sit. "Everyones having a good time... even Riku seems to be in a great mood..."her gaze drifted to the star shaped fruit. She grabbed one, plucking it from the tree. "You know, these are bigger than I thought they would be."she joked, looking at the paopu.
With everyone working together the campsite looked pretty decent. The campfire was burning and people had gathered fish and fruits for everyone. Valerie was away from everyone else, on the island where the big paopu tree was. She took a look at the star shaped fruit with a sad smile. Sora and Riku were with everyone on the campsite. Sora was sharing stories of his adventures, Riku adding a few details here and there. Selphie was listening with extreme interest. Irvine however, was keeping lookout. Rikus mother was tending to the silverettes back. Valerie looked to Sora and Riku, glad that they were happy. But she missed her family and other friends back home.. or rather what few friends she had at home.
"If we do make camp we'll have to have a look out...You know, in case they try to attack while we're sleeping."Riku said. "Ooh! Ohh! I'll do it!" "Me too, me too!"Valerie and Selphie waved their arms about. Sora couldn't help but chuckle. "alright, settle down." Irvine was going off with a group to gather supplies for the camping.
"We need a plan if we're going to destroy that heartless and bring Eden back..."Riku said. "I thought you wanted to SLAY the heartless?"Valerie huffed. "why would we? That'd be an even bigger bother!"Sora huffed. Night was starting to fall, the sun making a slow descent. "Well, we might as well rest up before taking on the giant bird."Irvine said. "Anyone want to help make camp?"Selphie asked.
"Our island..."Sora looked at the burning mainland, frowning. "I can't believe they would do this.."Riku frowned. "Aw, don't worry! We can all fix it up together!"Selphie grinned. "Yeah, make it good as new."Irvine smiled. "But it'll have to wait until the islands are at peace again..."Valerie sighed.
The two keyblade wielders got in position, keyblades at the ready. "So! who's gonna start us off?"Sora asked. "Its not a race Sora. You can start whenever you-hey!"Riku dodged a strike from Oblivion. "I didn't mean now!"he snapped. "Sorry. My bad."Sora smirked. Riku smirked, striking with Way to Dawn. Sora blocked, a feeling of nostalgia overcoming him. The whole crowd was watching the fight. Strike, block, counter, parry... It was like when the two were younger, before the heartless invaded the islands. Riku managed to land a blow, hitting Sora with the blunt side of Way to Dawn on the shoulders. Sora managed a strike to each of Rikus legs. Riku jumped over a low swipe from Oblivion as an attempt to knock him over. Sora smiled, having the time of his life. He felt like a kid again, on the small island where they sparred with wooden swords. Riku could tell Sora was distracted, making a low swipe with Way to Dawn. Sora tried to dodge, but his lack of balance called him to fall backwards."Okay... Ow..." Riku chuckled, holding out his hand to Sora. "I think that counted as a victory."he said. Valerie grinned, glad that she won the bet. She took the money, splitting it up between the people who bet on Riku. Sora let Riku help him up, smiling. "Nice job, Sora."Riku said. "For a pregnant person?"Sora gave a small chuckled. Riku shook his head. "For a kid."he joked.
"Rikus tottaly going to win!" "I dunno, Sora could probably make a comeback." "This'll be very interesting."Valerie chuckled. "$20 on Riku winning!" "V-chan!"Sora whined that Valerie betted on Riku. "Ready to lose?"Riku asked, summoning Way to Dawn. "Are you?"Sora summoned Oblivion. "Sora, careful of the baby!" "Alright! Rules! No magic, no items, first one to knock the other on their butt wins!"Valerie explained. She started to go around and gather money from people who bet on Sora or Riku.
"mm-hmm. It's gonna be weird going to Twilight town, huh Riku?"Sora asked. "Yeah..."Riku did NOT want to recall any of those memories. "I don't see why you two gotta take an exam where you fight eachother. Its obvious Riku's gonna win!"Selphie said. "Whoa there, Selph. Don't take Sora out of the ring yet. It's been over 2 years since they've last has a fake spar. Sora's probably been training."Irvine said. "Why not have a bit of a practice spar now? Good practice for when you do take the exam."Valerie said. "A practice spar? No thanks."Riku said. Sora gave a small smirk. "what, afraid to get your butt whooped by a pregnant person?"he asked. "Oh dear..." "Here they go again..."
"Thats great!"Valerie grinned. "We'll be staying until Sora has the baby..."Riku said. "aaaw!"Selphie whined in protest. "Oh well..."Irvine chuckled. "and we will be gone for a long time again..."Sora frowned. "It's expected for our little adventurer..." "Our sons, Keyblade Masters..." "Not quite sure what a keyblade is exactly yet..." "Well, we're not keyblade masters yet..."Riku said. "Riku say what now?"Valerie looked over to Riku. "We got our mission to save Earth before we could take it. Didn't we tell you two?"Sora tilted his head.
"Yeah..."Valerie smiled. "So! Who are you two?"Selphie went over to Valerie and Jeffrey. "Thats Valerie and Jeffrey."Sora said. "They're two of the survivors we found on Earth. Definately a mischevious pair."Riku said. "Well, thanks for helping us scare off that giant Heartless."Irvine said. "Your welcome!"Valerie grinned. "It's nice to meet the both of you. I'm Emyra Centary, Rikus mother." "and we're Sora's parents. I'm Cotarow Jiyataro, and this is my wife Tabina." "I hope our son wasn't a handful." "Oh, is Riku's injury healing okay?" Sora and Riku were both bright red at their parents behavior.
"Thats a great idea!"Valerie said. Sora was with his parents and Riku with his mom. "I'm sorry about father, mom..."Riku said. "I'll be fine... I'm so happy you're alive, hon..."Rikus mom smiled. "We were so worried about you, young man."Sora's mother said. "I would've sent letters and stuff like that if I had the time..."Sora said. "Well you're safe now...and apparently doing well in the pregnancy."Sora's father chuckled. Sora turned a light shade of red.
Riku was catching his breath, shaking his head. "Thats it?"Selphie hopped out of the way of the glassy sand. "It shouldn't have surrendered...."Irvine frowned. "It was Eden! she's still in there!"Valerie smiled. Sora saw the bird fly away. "Okay, it's safe to come out for now..."he said to everyone, coming out of the cave. Riku caught his breath, looking over to Sora. "Soraaaa!"Selphie grinned. Irvine held the girl back from tackling Sora. Valerie mentioned for the people hiding in the shack to come out of hiding.
"Protega!"Riku cast a shield around Irvine and Selphie, hoping it would protect them. "Thunder!"Valerie shot a thunder spell at the large bird. Selphie yelped at the fire tornadow, but was relieve that the protega spell surrounded them before fatal damage was done. Riku winced, trying to keep the barrier stable in the fire tornado. Irvine aimed his rifle, hoping to get a shot of the pheonix through the blaze. Sora watched the battle from the secret cave, seeing how powerful the bird was. "I have to help them!"he said. "Oh no you don't, mister. You are not fighting in you're condition!"Sora's mother snapped, pulling Sora back.
Riku rolled to the sand to avoid falling to the sand. "This beast has to go down...." "She'll destroy the islands if we don't..."Valerie understood the situation. The shack door opened, Selphie coming out. "heeeey! Leave this island alone, you dumb bird!"she snapped, taking out her nunchaku. Irvine followed Selphie, a rifle at his side. Valerie was relieved at the reinforcements, while Riku groaned at the sight of Selphie.
Valerie yelped, taking cover. "Protega!"A barrier formed around her so the heartless couldn't harm her. Riku had exited the cave, spotting the pheonix. That beast is going down... No questions asked....
"I'll go in first, thank you..."Riku cut the others off, entering the small cave first. Upon entering where all their drawings were, there came a suprise. "Riku! Oh thank goodness!"Riku's mother wrapped her arms around her son. She was a woman in her late 30s with dark hair but Rikus cerulean eyes. "M-Mom..."Riku turned a light red in embarassment. "Where's father?"he asked. Rikus mother let go of her son, frowning. Sora was the second to come in, glad to see his parents along with some other refugees with Lulu, Wakka, and Tidus. Sora's mother had blonde hair and emerald eyes, while his dad had brunette hair and Sora's bright blue eyes. "Mom, dad!"Sora went over to his parents, glad that they were okay. "Sora, honey! What happened to you?"Sora's mother was a bit suprised by Sora's swollen middle. Sora's eyes drifted over to Riku, his face becomming a light red. "Why am I not suprised... You two were always close."Sora's father gave a soft chuckle. Valerie was about to enter when she saw the heartless bird, getting her daggers out. "I got it!"she rushed to get the bird away from everyone.
"Huh?"Sora noticed a moogle doll carrying a coconut. "Whats Lu's moogle doll doing here?"Riku asked. They watched as the moogle doll made its way to the secret place, heading inside. "The shacks shut too..It's usually open..."Sora looked over to the shack. "Lets check out the secret place first."Valerie said. Riku was still a bit annoyed that so many people knew about it now...
"Now approaching Destiny Islands..."The gummis computer announced. "Gre-"Sora and Riku looked out the dome as they started coming in for a landing. Corpses, ruins, fire.... Sora's eyes widened in fear. "Oh no..."Riku frowned. "Gexln, Eden... No other heartless though."Sora frowned. "The keyhole has already been sealed here. The only reason they're here must be because they knew we were coming."Riku said. "Oh greeeat... Any ideas?"Valerie asked. "We can land on our play island. The only way they can get there is by boat."Sora said. The gummi made a slow descent to the trios play island. It was safe...for now. Riku looked, seeing row of boats on the docks. "People must have fled here when Gexln and the beast arrived..."he said.
