It's the fictional setting of the video game Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. It's a big castle with lots of pointy parts on the outside and lots of rooms/floors on the inside. Sora and Riku have memory cards and use them to transform each floor into whatever world they choose to enter. Also, lots of people die there.

You actually battle Marluxia in the room in question. Why you battle him in a regular room and get transported to a distant battle arena for everyone else is a weird mystery.
In the Japanese version of the GBA Chain of Memories, they'd have their original voice taunts. Larxene would go "Pikachu" which means "lightning" and "kunia (or) kunia" which is her weapon. She'd also say "oraora" when she did her teleport rush, but I don't know what it means. I just finished it in about 2:21:44, not including credits. I intend to bring that time below 2:10 very soon.
Don't forget the whole Organization XIII plotline - Sora and Riku wipe out half of them.

This was written by Koneko: Axel killed Zexion because he knew too much. At the point when the event occured, he was one of the last (if not the last) Organization member in Castle. Axel would have to take him out in order to keep him from telling Xemnas what REALLY happened. (And I think it's safe to say that Xemnas never really found out...though he might have suspected it.)
Namine was probably thinking "Wait a minute... he... smelled me?" And then Riku runs away so he doesn't have to explain himself. I actually like him better than Sora, especially in Chain of Memories.
What makes it even better is that after that last piece of dialogue, Namine says nothing and Riku walks away, as if thinking "oops".
Hades was a pretty good challenge and actually killed me about twice before I realized that I was letting him corner me and flame me to death. Once I stopped that, it was alright from then on. Vexen was a pain in the arse, not because of heavily damaging attacks, but because of that stupid shield of his. You had to hit him from behind... every single time... in order to do damage, and it didn't help that he flew around like crazy and made it very difficult to do that. Sure you could get a hit in from the front if you did a card break, but chances are he would follow up right away with a shield bash to your face or go back to blocking again. Riku V4 was fine if you knew when to attack and when to go on the defensive. Breaking his sleights and dodging at the right time was the key. Larxene V2. Now here was a tough one. She was fast and extremely deadly. If you didn't have a good deck, you could kiss very large chunks of your health goodbye. She'd ALWAYS follow up one attack with another (including one that stuns you for a good while), and to make matters worse, was hard to hit during her card recovery period. What also made things really tough was that she had a heavily damaging attack called Teleport Rush that she began to use repeatedly once you got her down to one bar of health. Whats more, is that it leaves you no time to cancel it and she'd most likely follow it up with another one! I had a lot of trouble with her, but I love a challenge, and it was one heck of a great battle. Axel V2 was one I didn't have any troubles on at all, and I still don't see why so many other people do. Marluxia deserves the title as the final boss of the game. He's powerful, sneaky, has many high level cards, and a ton of health. Attacking him directly usually means you'll take some good damage, and he can attack continuously if you don't know what to do. He'll break almost every single one of your sleights too. Marluxia on the Nobody was a complete joke since he couldn't make sleights anymore. The problem was that the process used to beat him took so long. Plus he had a lot of low level cards - nothing above a 7 in fact - which made him really easy to beat. So if I had to choose, it'd be a tie between Larxene V2 and Marluxia.
Come to think of it, he does say "I can sense Saix. He's using something to boost his power." It'd be funny if he said "Better be careful Sora, I can smell a very powerful Saix beyond this portal!"
