While I commonly miss very funny and entertaining threads in my absence, apparently I also fly clean over ******ed fads. [In other news, I had a wonderful night. Bought two Neil Gaiman books (Yes, the two you're thinking of), downloaded what I believe is a Candy Spooky Theater discography, jammed to The Fratellis, and met up with my lady friend and saw Sherlock Holmes. I hope that movie is kicking ass in the box office, because it deserves every penny. Also, apparently the prescription for ending this original movie dry spell we've been having is Nicholas Cage. Seriously, is this some kind of mass hypnosis!? He was in two previews in a row, and they both looked AWESOME!]

[The phrase seems to repeat itself over and over in your mind. Its beginning are small and subtle; you seem to notice you're using the phrase more than you should. Maybe it just seems to stick out when you write or type, when nothing's really wrong with it. You start mentally highlighting it. Then, one day, you're typing a message to a friend, and it slips out. GET HELP. It's right where it should be in the sentence, but for some reason it's in all caps. You don't even remember clicking Caps Lock, yet it's on. Then... you start to see it in places you shouldn't. In advertisements, on milk cartons. Maybe even in the contour of a wood floor. At the same time, you start having headaches. Sometimes when your head really starts to throb, you feel like you can hear it repeating, over and over in time with the pulsations. GET HELP. GET HELP. GET HELP. Now the headaches are becoming so bad you can hardly think straight. You seem to see the phrase written everywhere, like it's appearing just for you. You write an email to your friend, trying to tell him what's going on so at least someone will know. But every few sentences you realize you've been typing GET HELP over and over. Finally, you finish the message, just in time for your ache to reach a fever pitch. Everything slowly begins to go black as the words repeat over and over in your head. Then, the words appear in the blackness, written clear as day on your psyche: GET HELP. The next thing you're aware of is waking up in a room full of white. As your eyes adjust, you see that you're in a hospital bed. Your head has stopped aching, and the phrase no longer appears on anything. Your friend is next to you, saying he found you passed out by your computer after receiving your message. He says that the message just said GET HELP over and over. Then the doctor comes in and tells you that you had a brain tumor, but it was successfully removed before it caused you any harm. With a deep sigh you begin to lie back, hoping to get some rest for the first time in weeks. But as you're about to drift off to sleep, your eyes suddenly snap open as you see something written on the opposite wall. FINALLY! IT WAS GETTING CROWDED IN HERE.]

I have to assume this is either because (1) there is some manner of error occurring or (2) my posts are violating some rule and are being deleted. Either way, I'm not receiving any notifications as far as I can tell, it's just kind of happening. And I can't seem to find any missing posts so I don't really know which it could be. Hey, so, this is the first time I've ever colored a manga base. Ever. In fact it's the first time I've colored something. So I just wanted to get a little CnC, see where I can go from here, then maybe I'll move up to some real GFX designs once I'm confident in my coloring ability. Be merciless; I want to improve, not be coddled. Spoiler All done in Photoshop CS4. Yes, I'm aware the glasses look awful. I just couldn't get those to turn out right. After a few edits, I eventually dug myself into a pit and decided to leave it be. I think I'll just use a single color for the frame and lenses in the future. I'm also aware it's not finished, but I wanted to focus on the person for now. I might color the rest later. I'm specifically looking for tips on lighting/shading, smooth gradients (mostly for the BG), and making it look a little less grainy. By the way, in case you didn't know, this is Giovanni from Dogs: Bullets and Carnage. He's my latest obsession. <3 Only one for now, but I might add others soon.
