The human race is capable of doing and did much worse things then this murder, as for the bystanders just watching and not doing a thing, pretty natural in my opinion. Most people wouldn't risk their life to save another person, even if it is someone close to them. It is in our nature, like it is with animals, to protect our own skin first and then help others, if you say otherwise then I am afraid that you are nothing more then an idealist and I highly doubt that most of you, if you were on that bus, wouldn't behave like the other bus passengers. I mean c'mon the murderer went Hannibal/Dracula on the fellow and you say you would jump unarmed and try to help the victim? I highly doubt that, most of you would run off like the rest of those people, so don't judge them too harshly for saving their own life.
