The title of this thread should be "Apple Suing Everybody." Apple is being a little noncompetitive, forcing competitors' products off shelves instead of just making the better one. As said before, aren't tablets supposed to look alike? If not, how else are they supposed to look like?

Samsung's defense is kind of silly but does make a point: Apple does not own the idea of a computer tablet, and should not have rights to it's design. Apple did not invent the tablet computer, portable media player, laptop or smartphone. What if they were denied the rights to create or sell one of their own?

I really don't care what genre a movie is. As long as it's good, I'll like it. I'm the kind of person that likes to go see a movie without knowing anything about it. I look at movie reviews though, but only for the star ratings, I read the rest after I've seen it.

I've finished reading Perfume by Patrick Süskind. Very creative and original, it has become one of my favorite novels.

Starting today I'm gonna start reading Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. You can download an audiobook of it here.

I've already contacted staff about trying to get my encodes of the Re:CoM cutscenes into KH-Vids' official cutscene archive.

Until they are (that is if they are) added to the archive you can download the cutscenes here:

    MP4
    Japanese
    English

    WMV
    Japanese
    English

You can download the videos one at a time or by floors/basements as ZIP files.

EDIT: I don't know if anyone is still going to read this, but the staff has taken a pass on these videos. Also, I've joined the videos together by floors/basements as single video files. They were encoded at half the bitrates as the last videos, so they're half in size, you can download them here.

We really don't have anything to worry about. If an object was on a course for Earth, we would know years in advance.

And also the Armageddon movie makes no sense, how could they miss an asteroid the size of Texas? That's just crazy huge, the debris left would be more than enough to destroy Earth.

The sign of a true tinkerer.

My desktop isn't at messy as yours, but that's because I put all my junk in my home folder. I would post it, but it's pretty much the same as last time.

You would be surprised. There are organizations that try to deal with issue of overfishing, and some of them try to spread awareness of the problem.

Maybe that's one reason why why people react so strongly to animal cruelty, once unaware of the problem and just want to help. People who profit from it try to hide it from view. When on the news they show so much human-on-human death and corruption that we have become desensitized to it.

I'm not saying what is natural or what is not natural, healthy or unhealthy. I'm sure the animals that are killed for food did not want to die. I'm saying killing animals is cruel. So unless they wanted to get boiled or gutted, I don't think there's a way to say it isn't.

    What a headliner.
This reminds me of the swine flu. It may be scary but the number of victims are so low, that it's really not something you should concern yourself about.

Fishing for food is indeed cruel as well. Fish suffocating to death, or worse, gutted alive for caviar. Not to mention the lobsters in hot water.

But the dolphins are not being killed for food, it's for money. They let trainers get their pick of the dolphins and buy them for their amusement parks, and the rest get speared. The dolphin meat is purposely mislabeled as a different type of exotic whale and sold at high price overseas.

When someone get's caught murdering someone, there's an arrest, inspection, court case, the whole shebang.
When thousands of dolphins get slaughtered in Japan every year, who punishes those responsible? NO ONE.
Don't think an animal rights activist is misguided when trying to bring something like that to light. Stopping human-on-human murders is already a priority, when stopping the killing of dolphins isn't. Should we just let this continue?

I believe if we want to live in a morally sound society we have to at least try to put an end to all types of cruelty, wherever it may be.

I lack the proper equipment or fast computer to be able to record actual gameplay. I can only do cutscenes because they're stored as FMVs on the Re:CoM disk.

You can extract the FMVs yourselves if you have a copy of Re:CoM, look for the link in my signature.

I don't play that many video games, and I don't own a high end computer or next generation console. I am sure that there are many games out there that I would have considered great if I had played them.

I will be listing five games in no particular order.

Braid: I had no expectations when I first played this game, which was less than a couple days ago. I only purchased it because it came as a bundle with a number of other games. With it's innovative and imaginative gameplay mechanics and puzzles it quickly became clear to me that this was one of the best video games I've played, and a new favorite.

Portal: Much like Braid, an imaginative platformer puzzle game, with a story and environment both humorous and eerie.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time: Yes, I love puzzle platformers. I also loved how the story was conveyed without relying too much on cutscenes.

Assassin's Creed II: I thought the gameplay was awesome throughout, even though I played it in slow-mo on a netbook. It never felt repetitive like the first and scaling buildings is always fun. I always thought Ubisoft was lame for putting that disclaimer about religion at the start just because some of the characters are atheists. It was only after I saw the secret video that I found the necessity for it. I can't imagine what the secret video implicates for the characters or how this story is gonna play out. I haven't played the sequel.

Shadow of the Colossus: One scales buildings, the other scales colossi, ancient armored giants. Little things like all the colossi being armored, sad music when defeating a colossus, or finding that when dead they turn to moss covered stone are puzzling. Curious questions arise when playing this game, and most answers are really left to the imagination.

Tom was more in love with Dickie's way of life than Dickie himself. And when he takes on his identity he's willing to do anything to keep it.

I've also seen Ripley's Game, Ripley this time around lives in a modern age and has already assembled his vast wealth. "Ripley's Game stars John Malkovich as a sociopath intent on driving an innocent man to murder." Ripley here is cold and remorseless when he murders, but still yet charming and intelligent.

    Both are wonderful films.

I'm afraid of underwater areas in video games. In Super Mario 64 I was always so afraid of dying by running out of breath. Same thing for Tomb Raider, why does pulling pulling levers underwater take so long! D: I'm also afraid of the shark in KH1 Atlantica.

I rented this movie from Netflix a few days ago and I thought it was a really good sci-fi/thriller, even though it's "science" is impossible! But that's okay, cause many science fiction's "science" are, and this movie's secondary genre measures up.

    Major spoilers ahead.

Listing some of the questions that popped into my head while viewing:
How is it possible to recreate an entire universe out of memories? Even the location of a hidden bomb?
Why is Jeffrey Wright's character in crutches?
Will Jake Gyllenhaal's character ever tell Michelle Monaghan that he's not the person she thinks he is?
What happened to the real Sean Fentress?

I've listened to the commentary and it mentions some of these questions and only answers one of them, and apparently it doesn't end well for Sean Fentress.

One of my favorite surprises was when we see that Colter was communicating with the lab through text. I had just assumed that they were being feed video of whatever Colter's imagining in his mind. It really pounds in the fact that Colter really is helpless, and is the victim in this story.

Not reading anything at the moment, but I do plan on reading (or preferably listen to) Perfume by Patrick Süskind, once I have some extra money.

I've read Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You by Peter Cameron three times already, but since the movie adaption it gonna come out later this year, thinking of reading it again, but this time I'll be sure to take note of any words I don't understand ;D.
