Seriously. How I can keep pulling these yet I can't do a simple sketch from my mind? <_<

I should take drawing classes or something to see if I can replicate my copying-from-an-image ability to a copy-from-my-mind ability.

    150+ Layers of pure work.

GEE, I SURE LOVE BEING ABLE TO COPY EVERYTHING WITH EASYNESS (With a MOUSE of all things, because the pentool does most of the work), YET I BOUGHT A DRAWING TABLET AND I CAN'T DO EVEN THE SIMPLEST SKETCH FROM MY MIND.

Eh, some people have the knowledge and experience and some not, maybe I need some drawing classes to learn to draw from my mind. Because I consider it a waste IMO that I'm able to copy so easily drawings yet I can't draw something myself.

Also, using title names from my original compositions? lolol

CnC please and thank you very much.

    Thanks a lot!

Alright thanks, I'll make sure to post all future Vectors in this section. c:

Yeah the thing I forgot to mention is that the original picture barely had any shading at all, being an anime screenshot and such.

The original picture in question: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/...LPs DigiArts Vectors and such/KLKOriginal.png

Yeah some outlines are a bit messy, but that's because of lazyness, I just selected pixels and outlined instead of redoing the pentooling lol.

I don't know what it clearly means either, I just saw someone once do a "Vector Render" and I was all "Wow this is cool, I should try it someday.", and here I am.

Yeah I tried shading her bow but my brain went "LOLNOPE", I guess I am bad at doing drawing things when I'm not copying. :l

Anyways, new version up, added more shading to her dress, fixed up her sword-thingy, and other stuff.

For all you Kill la Kill fans out there, because I haven't watched the anime yet because as I mention again, the Devil Survivor 2 Anime disappointment-ton leaving a horrible taste in my mouth for animes.

I still don't know where to post these, they don't count as sketches from my mind, and are done purely on Photoshop, so...

Another Vector of mine, 100+ Layers, did this today while waiting for 3DS to charge. c:

Tried to give it a cel-shaded look given how thick the outlines are in the anime (Or atleast in the screenshot I picked).

Original screenshot is literally one of the first things that came when I typed "Kil la Kill" In a search engine lol.

For those who don't know what a Vector is (Because you didn't look at my first one), I take a screenshot and recreate it using only the colors as a base and the image as a guide, but I took a few liberties.

And for those who want to know, I usually start with the face because that's the hardest part for me to make. lol.

CnC please and thank you. c:

A person who came by the request of another member, eh? Welcome!

Hello, I am Laplace, a person who likes engaging in artistic activity (Graphic design, drawing, composing music and singing, sadly I'm not good at 2 and I just started learning 4).

Being honest, all your talk of KLK is making me want to go watch it actually, but I haven’t watched any anime since Devil Survivor 2 anime disappointment-ton and that left a bad taste on my mouth. <_<

    Anyways, back to you.

Make sure to read the rules and follow them and yougetit.

I know your feeling of shyness and awkwardness, as I’m myself that way too, but that’s natural, as we are all mostly afraid of new experiences, and that includes meeting new people.

May you find enjoyment and positive experiences and memories in this place, and if you have any questions do not feel afraid to ask.

    HAvE A nIcE DaY.

*100 layers and hours of Photoshop later* Finally, I'm done...

Goodness gracious that was an amazing experience to be honest. To watch as this thing unfolded upon my eyes, bit by bit, pixel by pixel.

I don't know where to post this, I made it purely on Photoshop and it isn't technically a drawing made from my mind soo... Anyways if a staff feels like moving it please do so.

    Who wants some Vector Art?

Original render: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z193/twilith_master/Signatures/LPs DigiArts Vectors and such/DS2Original.png

For those who can't grasp it (I won't blame you), I took this picture, colored all over it, part by part, and remade it using only the original image as a guide (No copy-pasting parts, just using the same colors).

I may be horrible at drawing from the mind but when it comes to copying stuff even I don't believe myself. c:

This literally took me 100 layers and several hours to do so please give me CnC.

Actually that's a pretty amazing Aegislash moveset you got there, but I think I'll stay with Doublade, most of my Pokemon aren't for online due to horrible natures (Only Talonflame, Gengar and a random Sandile I caught have neutral or positive natures to them).

On another note, Kamina (Gabite) is just less than 10 levels to evolve into Garchomp, too bad I looked it up and Earthquake TM is behind a giant puzzle that needs Strength, Surf AND Waterfall. :l

But I'll get it anyways, because GARCHOMP. That and I had the intelligence to catch a Bidoof and a Ducklett, so I don't need any other HM Pokemon.

But I still dislike the concept of HMs themselves and how they were shoehorned in this gen for shortcuts and extra stuff. Atleast they are not mandatory for progress anymore but... Yeah, Gen V (B/W & B/W2) had the best example how to do HMs, even if they were pretty irrelevant in that gen.

Honestly, the only thing stopping me from doing this it's the fact I haven't done a vector art in God-knows-how-long, and the only times I did them I did them with cartoon/anime characters, who had their shadings being pretty marked on, this is a real person's picture, so I don't know if I can accomplish it.

But I'll probably give it a try sometime.

Anyways, thanks for all your critique!

EDIT: Actually, I pulled something decent before I go to sleep, I'll post it here for the sake of experimentation:

EDIT 2: Looking at this Vector... I better move the light source to the left lol.

Yeah, it's amazing how a common Gen I Pokemon like Gengar became so insane with Mega Evolution (Then again with the introduction of all these new things old powerhouse of Gen V, Hydreigon, got punched straight into low tier because x4 weakness to Fairy lmao)

Yeah, I heard the pros and cons of Doublade evolving to Aegislash (Aegislash being a "Niche", it not being able to take a hit in Sword Stance, the move spot that must be decided on for King's Shield), and honestly, I might go with your suggestion because of how late in the game I can get a Dusk Stone because I didn't touch Super Training at all yet.

    Welcome, welcome!

I won’t tell you to read the rules because everyone else already did and you already did that, and I won’t remind you to follow them because you read them for a reason after all.

    Anyways…

As a follower of artistic things (Including singing, though I barely post that stuff because on-board sound card <_<), I can understand your curiosity for KHV Idol and your joining of the forum just to be in it. Don't feel afraid to post your artistic things.

Anyways, hopefully we can get along well. May fortune and happiness be brought to you by the winds of change.

    HaVE a NiCe DaY.

On the text editor, there's an "A" with an line under it, click it after selecting your text and you'll get to color it.

Wow that Fairy Gym got destroyed in half by Doublade and it's IRON HEAD.

Also, Mega Gengar is nuts. Doesn't helps it has an insane movepool. So far I have in mind for moveset Dazzling Gleam (Dragon and Double Battle Counter), Shadow Ball (STAB), Sludge Bomb (STAB and Fairy counter) and Destiny Bond (Mega Gengar's ability is Shadow Tag, so, troll tactics).

Also, went to my first class, was kinda nice actually and I was totally paranoid to think it would be a horrible experience.

    Garchomp: LOLFAIRIES *Poison Jab/Iron Head/Earthquake*

Still not feeling the musical inspiration so let’s do this in the meantime.

Listened to “The Call of Ktulu” by Metallica while making these.

First one I opened one of my .PSDs to study and followed it loosely (Did not have the same resources, did not use the same stock, had some liberties, etc). I find the background... Interesting, on top of my head, I took a sand picture, added some star brushes and smudged it, then lots of weird gradient maps and adjustments, then added a filter and blacked out what I did not like. It actually feels more of an experiment than anything lol.

Second one is a typical Laplace colorsplosion because well, I like making colorsplosions and if I’m not having fun or learning something new while making these I don’t see the point lol. It's really something I made out in 10-15 minutes. Sorry if it looks too bright too, tried turning down the brightness but then it turns out too dark for my taste.

Comment and Critique as usual appreciated and thanked for. I know these may not be my strongest pieces ever but even with the dedication and habit of making these everyday but without the inspiration and CnC I can rarely get out of the first steps.

    Oh wow, this is amazing.

    First piece:

The first one could use some slight more blurring on the front C4D, or maybe change the hue/saturation a bit (CTRL + U or just go to Image > Adjustments while having that layer selected if anyone is wondering how to do that). IDK, my attention isn't still fully focused on Spidey himself. I feel that C4D in special sticks out like a sore thumb, probably because of how the entire piece is colorful and that thing is in such a gray-ish dark color.

Also there's the problem with the light sources, you got a cyan light source BEHIND the C4D while the yellow ones aren't (And if they were, it would make the C4D stick out more lol). For fixing that I recommend either bringing the lights after the C4D layer, or make a clipping mask to the C4D layer, brushing in a color, and set it to Lighten or something, and then play with the opacity to give it a "Back light" effect.

Speaking of light sources, you put a negative light (The black purple I think dot) on front of a light source, and that makes it stick out a bit too much.

    Second piece:

Second piece could use some relocation, it's not following properly the Rule of Thirds (Or maybe it's me looking at it wrongly?), it's not such a hard task, you can either try to crop the left side or make the entire thing bigger horizontally-wise, place it on the left and smudge a bit (But I feel that last one idea might be stretching it), or maybe put on a huge border?

Also Maaaaybe on an Apply Image layer burn the sides and lighten the center where Master Chief is located to draw the attention more to him.

Sorry if I'm too rough or not too helpful, I haven't given critique in a long while. :l

But really, this is amazing, really nice work. c:

KHV, I'm too nervous, tommorow is the first time I step into a classroom since around 6 months. I'm afraid I'll get a panic attack of sorts in the middle of the class or something of the sorts *Paranoia engage <_<*

Also I'm nervous because I haven't been outside all by myself since a long time, so it's going to take a while to get used to.

Oh well, I'll figure out a way, I usually do.

Alright, thanks to both of you for your kind and honest critiques, I made a third version with the drop shadow slightly blurred, faded and made it match the lightning.

Honestly I don't see an easy way to fix the text, and indeed getting it removed would not only be a waste, but would make the foreground seem more empty.

Anyways, thanks to all of you again!

Honestly, this one started out with me randomly smudging Yveltal on a gradient background lol.

    "You're in my head
I pray for your voice every time I slip away
    Though I don't understand
The reason I'm grounded here in eternity"

This song is amazing, also hooray, I finally make sense in a thread title.

The source picture itself is Low Quality because I took a screencap of one of his performances, because I couldn’t find a good HQ picture of him holding THAT TRIPLE-NECKED GUITAR and I really wanted to make this.

As before, this is an experiment to step out of my comfort zone.

CnC is appreciated, welcomed and thanked for, as usual.

Yeah I know the colors are probably too strong (Because the original’s picture’s colors were kind of washed out) and the Pentooling probably takes attention from Vai himself to the guitar. That’s why I’m posting this, so I can get some critique and improve on this piece. Or at the least take some notes for the next piece. c:

There we go, added a version with the text with a drop shadow. Looks a bit nicer IMO.

Surprisingly that thought didn't pass over my head before, so thanks a lot for the suggestion!
