I love English, but man, writing essays is so hard, at least for me. One of the things our writing in English 101 is supposed to reveal is that we understand the difference between summarizing (re-telling) and explaining or interpreting what we understand about the story with our own ideas. This is a problem I've always had, even in high school. I struggle with it and end up summarizing, but how can you not summarize while writing even near perfect essays? I have a hard enough time deciding how to start my essays and what to write. For our second writing project, we're using the "emerging understanding" process, and I chose to do "Araby" by James Joyce, one of the two short stories we read for this particular project, and I just finished my rough draft on it since it's due tomorrow, and I'm just not sure if the area I mentioned above (understanding the difference) is okay. However, I feel like the other areas meet the assessment criteria for the most part and I'll get at least a satisfactory on them. @Misty, I know you're studying this field; maybe you can provide some insight.

When I woke up it was around 3:00 AM the next day and I didn't feel like coming on and marking the forums read after viewing things, as I do when I intentionally go to bed, because I didn't want to make it appear like I was up late on a college night, so I just shut everything down and went back to bed. May 7: My body once again betrayed me, but when I woke up around 1:45 AM I viewed content posted between my last activity of 10:27 PM the previous day, marked the forums read, and then shut everything down and went to bed. May 9: Once again, my body betrayed me. I laid down just for a few minutes to rest my eyes as they were tired, and you can guess what happened. I was going to go to bed in a little while, anyway, but not that early. I woke up around 4:00 AM and was too pissed off to view content and mark the forums read accordingly, so I just shut everything down and went back to bed. I mean, all of these -- 11:35 PM, 10:27 PM (although this one didn't happen, thankfully), and 12:07 AM -- are reasonable bedtimes and those times (or around those times) have intentionally been my last activities before, but these weren't intentional. So that's a total of three body betrayals last week (May 3 - May 9), but I'm willing to let May 7 go.

So I uninstalled McAffee on my laptop last night because my subscription trial expired today and changed to Windows Defender, which comes with Windows 8. I can't quite figure out where to go to set up scheduled scans
I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I think everything's good to start now. For this project, I'm also trying something new by adding subtitles to the videos. The only reason I didn't do it for Kingdom Hearts is because there's a lot more going on during battles--they're faster-paced--and it would have likely been almost impossible to keep up.
Which means it's @Mike's birthday! Happy birthday!
For my upcoming Kingdom Hearts II - Allies vs. Bosses project -- first video will be posted tomorrow -- which will also include the mini-bosses like the nobodies at the train station in Twilight Town after Sora, Donald, and Goofy wake up, I'm going to try something new by adding captions (or subtitles), and I'm trying to figure out what colors are typically associated with Sora, Donald, and Goofy. For the world characters, I'll likely just use a generic color for all of them. White for Sora, blue (clothes) or yellow (beak/feet) for Donald, and green (shirt) or yellow (hat/pants) for Goofy, perhaps?

Say hello to Baltimore I liked how the major and chief of police noticed they have a pattern they need to change, and I also liked how many citizens were against the rioters' actions. Protesting peacefully is fine; rioting is not. And the people who riot don't even care about the key issue, they just take advantage of the situation. Under Arrange by, there's: Folder (Default) Album Artist Song Genre Rating Under Sort by, there's: Name (Default) Contributing Artists Album # Title Right now I'm doing it the long and hard way by manually adding numbers to the file name, such as: Song (3:34) Wax (4:21) Apple (5:16) However, and especially if I have lots of files (e.g., 100+), I'd have to redo everything if I added more files to that folder, which would get tedious.

Now I'm having problems on my computer. It's working, but I cannot get it to find Ellensburg. Up until today, the gadget said Ellensburg, WA, but upon returning a while ago, I noticed it said Ellensburg, Washington. Even though nothing was wrong, I re-inputted the information thinking it was a glitch, but when I put in our zip code (seen below), it shows only Kittitas, but that has a different zip code -- the last three numbers are 934, which also brings up Kittitas, so there's something going on because the other one should bring up Ellensburg. Furthermore, upon searching for our zip code, it just shows the zip code in the bottom instead of city and state (the same goes for the current location -- it'd show the city name followed by the state abbreviation) and if I try searching for city names, nothing comes up, and that was working before. View attachment 41928 Kittitas weather isn't too different for Ellensburg since it's about a 10-20 minute drive from here (usually a few degrees colder in Kittitas, though weather sites like Yahoo! usually say the same), but still. I'd like it to display Ellensburg. I tried restarting my computer to no avail, though when I have issues with Huggle, a tool on Wikipedia to deal with vandalism, it usually lasts the day and is resolved by the next day, so I guess we'll see if the same happens here.
