Speed? Great. As if you weren't irritating enough already. Just as he hit dirt, Shin quickly got to his feet and raised his lance against Grey. Whether he was a traitor to the others or not didn't matter to the boy. Grey needed some sense knocked into him. Literally. But even if he was knocked unconscious, there would still be Fenrir to deal with.
OOC: Shinryu doesn't actually speak or say anything, but I'll take it that he got his message across to Grey. BIC: He decided to bite. The blades of his lance flipped back out. Challenge accepted. Shinryu approached Grey while keeping his distance from Cid and Shiva. I don't care about your situation or who the hell this Jenova is. I will not risk another time crash by letting some delusional, power-blind idiot run around. He looked at Fenrir fearlessly and wondered if the wolf knew who he was. Focusing back to Grey, he pole vaulted into the air to slam his lance into Grey's skull. Maybe that won't do anything, but at least it'll close the distance between them.
OOC: Changed the last bit of what Omega said in my last post. BIC: Although it's been such a long time since he's done this, Shinryu quietly laughed his fatigue away. He did his best to hold it in, but couldn't help himself when Ryou mentioned the "mastering fate" part of the speech. True, he didn't listen to what Grey had to say, but that repeated part is what caught his attention. Fate's master? You? Fate would rather die than have a master. And do you know what happens when fate dies? You don't get free will. No one does. No. All that would happen is that the future would vanish out of everyone's reach. The past and present would also disappear, leaving time to warp into itself. Do you know what I'd call that event? A time crash. Don't let being a l'Cie and acquiring an Eidolon get to your head. I have a friend, who's also my rival and enemy, that battles Eidolons on his free time. If he heard you say what you did, you wouldn't have your head or your Eidolon right now. Shin stopped laughing towards the end of that thought. Grey started to annoy him, irritate him even. Although he only knew him very briefly, just looking at Grey disgusted him. The boy shot him a dark look that said, "Just shut up, please. If you think you're saving yourself, you really aren't."
Omega smiled all throughout Linegia's starting rampage. Out of the crater he was in echoed out a laugh. "What power words can have on things! I was starting to worry that you were never going to break," he cheerfully spoke from below. Inhumanly, his legs rose up, walking backwards towards his upper body that was still in the ground. Then in a very fast, fluid motion, the rest of his body slithered up to a standing position. "I don't claim to know you or what you went through and I never will. But at least now I can give up that act." He rose back into the air, more or less on her level and continued his laughter for a bit before returning to his usual calm, serious demeanor, eyes and brand now glowing white. "But seriously, what you went through really was a bit laughable from what I saw of your development. It must be like the Void, though. Seeing and feeling it are completely different from experiencing it first hand." He paused to wipe the dust off his clothes. "And I don't need to 'show' you anything. 15% should be just enough to whittle you down, even if it is like a blunt chisel to a mountain. No one knows what happens when this form 'dies' because it never has unlike the others. Will you be the first to do so, I wonder?" He began to provoke her further by attacking with Light Pillar from underneath.
Omega withstood her attack, shrugging off the pain. "Don't want me to use it? Then consider it gone." The ring glowed white and quickly evaporated through his glove. "I really wanted to avoid this, but it's the only magic I can do without transforming. You drove me to use it, you know. If they all kill each other it's not my fault." He stretched his arms out to his sides, palms outwards, and casted Mass Drain on everyone. Numerous streams of life energy burst out of his hands to latch onto the targets and started sucking away equal percentages of their individual lives for a good ten seconds before they returned back to him. "This is an ancient life, after all. Were you expecting it to be fresh?" he asked with a chuckle, re-drawing Blood Sword in the process. "The biggest difference between us is that, like Cid, you are human or human-based. To this day, I've yet to see an advantage to that. Does having a soul instantly make you superior? And, yes, even clones have their own souls different from the original. Wave Cannon: 10% Power." Channeling his power through the sword, eyes now glowing an icy blue, a blinding white beam of destruction was fired at her. "I, too, am a weapon and embodiment of destruction. But what have you done to show it? The project that converted you into what you are was never even complete, because you simply couldn't endure the process. I don't even think you were ever released for use until now. And sure, I'm not truly 'complete' either. But at least I can grow, learn, and evolve until then. You've never changed nor will you ever change, like the half-made antique doll that you are. And your glass fillings? They don't do you justice." When the life energy hit Shinryu in the chest, it was...electrifying, to say the least. There wasn't anything he could do but stand there and take it. This seemed like the longest ten seconds of his life, and when it was over, he was fatigued. Sleep never sounded so good right now.
100% magic resistance, huh? Omega sheathed Blood Sword and pulled out an opal ring from his pocket, something he keeps with him at all times ever since he bought a few and learned of their function when he was stuck in Ivalice before becoming Omega Weapon: Model XII (Or Omega Mark XII as the people there called it). Wearing the ring converted all magic into its Piercing variant, which would normally ignore the Reflect status. But as Reflect isn't a naturally occurring effect in this world, Piercing magic ignored magic resistance instead. Of course there were magic attacks he could do that naturally did this, such as Flare Star and Mass Drain, but they had their set backs. Using Flare Star would be like using Heartless Angel earlier that day, pushing him past his limits and becoming Omega Weapon: Model VI, while Mass Drain would affect the entire area and is only used as a last resort. Pulling off his left glove with his mouth, he put the ring on his middle finger and then placed the glove back on. "Now for a test..." he said to himself. With a snap of his fingers, he set off Piercing Ultima on Linegia. In the distance he felt the otherworldly presence of the Eidolons. How I would so love to join them over there, battling the Wolf and the Sisters. What fun that would be... As soon as he touched the ground Shin leaped into the air as the turtle raised a leg to attack with Jump. But it soon disappeared before his eyes and he only hit dirt. That didn't matter now that the Twin Sisters made their appearance. Pulling his lance from the ground, Shinryu twirled it and set it out of battle mode, now using it only in defense. He knows better than to attack Eidolons. The only thing he hoped was if the others knew the same. Based from what he saw, other than Lightning, they were all still fresh and a bit naive. Grey's arrival with Fenrir didn't help to improve his opinion on them.
Omega dropped the Blood Sword when he got slammed all the way into the side of the mountain. The blade pierced the ground and ripped open a hole in the dimension. Over at the mountain, he sensed multiple sources of dark energy moving in his direction at fast speeds. Seeing no other way out, Omega looked at the magically charged Masamune. He stabbed into the rock with it, releasing the magics inside to open a portal to the Void, and fell through before getting blasted. The portal closed as soon as he entered. In the Void, immediately, he felt a wave of nothingness wash over him as he fell from the roof of a dark cavern but he payed no mind to it. As he was lying on the cold rock, the only sounds he heard amidst the silence was the sound of rushing water and its echoes in the distance. He knew exactly where he was. "Of all the places to end up, I end up here: The caverns where Model V first fell." Omega got up on his feet and nearly dragged himself to the nearby wall. "But at least...at least it's not that desert." Walking to a small waterfall up ahead, he plunged head into it. After all that heat and fire from Oerba, the freezing cold water pouring down on him was nice change. Moments later he started to cough up very small amounts of this dark, black substance. His body, instead of building resistance and immunity to the poison, was outright rejecting it. When it all left his system, Omega rinsed his mouth with water and waited for the side effects to leave. It was during this waiting period that he noticed the tip of Blood Sword poking out of another portal from a rock platform below. "And there is my exit. How convenient." As soon as his strength returned, he jumped through the portal below. Back on Gran Pulse, almost literally no time had passed during his absence. No sooner had he gone through the portal over at the mountain side did he reappear flying out of the one in Oerba. Taking hold of Blood Sword as he exited, Omega tackled into Linegia as she was speaking. "A stray would have smelled this coming half a world away," he said while leeching off her life wtith a steady stream of Drainga castings to the head. With his free hand he grabbed one of her ankles and whipped her at the still open portal to the Void. Following that he raised his hand into the sky, calling down Meteor directly above the village. He looked down at her and whatever parts of the village around her with cold eyes. Shinryu landed on his feet after being knocked away. His attention was now towards the Adamanchelid...and was disappointed. This was the "baddest" creature he could bring out? The thing was an but an ant compared to its superior brethren, the Shaolong Gui. But whatever. It was just another thing to kill in the end, along with the chance of getting some gold dust as well. The important thing here was to stay off the ground because of its stomps. With that in mind, the boy swiftly climbed up one of its legs to get on its shell. Once there, he ran straight towards the head while dragging one of the bladed ends of the lance into the back of its neck.
Linegia's poison kicked in, severing all processes and leaving Omega greatly disoriented. Though he's been poisoned before, he never expected anything this strong. He could feel his strength leave him along with his defenses. "It's like...being hit with Grand Cross all over again..." he weakly muttered.
DNA Seqencing: 13% Complete All Omega needed to do was to buy enough time for this to finish. Once it did...well, he could clone her if he wanted to. Or perhaps form some parasitic bond with her. Or maybe he'll do nothing at all and only keep it in his mental record. The possibilities were endless. "Well, since I'm feeling generous..." he said while taking a more defensive role, "...Have at me."
"Just because you deem it a failure does not mean it is one. You don't know how corrupt the inner workings of that theocracy was. Exilement was a much needed blessing. And what I do with your sample now is up to me." Sample analysis complete. Subject, renamed "Linegia", confirmed. Preparing DNA sequencing process... As she was a long range target, he struck first by attacking with an upgraded form of Baptism in Ruin, firing off multiple Ruinga spells in quick succession and ending with a Ruinja that detonated into five Ruin spells. After that he teleported directly behind her with Reverse Polarity and swung his blades all around him in a fashion similar to this world's Zantetsuken. Shinryu, ignoring the pain, pole vaulted high into the air towards Alice. Sure, she was a l'Cie. But being an archer, could she fight in close combat? As he was nearing the ground he held his lance over his head to slam it down on her skull.
Omega chuckled at Linegia's attempt to pin something on him. "If you're going to use something against me double-check your information next time, would you? I was the heretic monk, Omega, who was exiled off the mainland as punishment for rebelling against Yevon. My hatred against Yevon grew so great that I not only obtained a new form for myself, but one for her as well. And defeat me you must. Realize that it's only going to be in my favor if you do, so make your choice wisely. You do have a will, don't you?" His eyes changed color to an icy blue. Scan lines started to run across them, though it did not obscure his vision. Sample detected. Beginning analysis... While that was going on inside him, Omega slowly distanced himself from her and took in the view of the burning village. "But if you still want to play, child..." Both Masamune and Blood Sword began to resonate with dark magic. A single strike is all that would be needed to get banished from this dimension. "Then let us play."
A very short amount of time had passed and Omega's brand cooled off, returning to normal. He soon broke out of his ice prison. "Fear? Fear is just one of the many things the Void exploits to get inside your mind, corrupting it. I was not made to fear anything nor could I even have the luxury to fear because of the Void. Whether your lack of emotion is a way for you to cope with whatever you had to deal with, it is meaningless. Absolute apathy is just another thing the Void can and will exploit. A weakness one might call it." The blood flowing in his body instantly grew cold, becoming liquid crystal. The moment this happened, something about his attitude changed slightly. He carefreely glided behind her to whisper in her ear. "Such a shame, though, that you had to be based on a human subject. All of that effort put into that one, single project and for what? You? This sorry toy of a weapon? They would've gotten better results from using a stray dog." While he was speaking to her, Omega plucked a loose strand of her hair and ate it.
"[Anti-Air] Wave Cannon: 5% Power." Numerous lasers of white light burst from the ground to vaporize all incoming meteors coming his way. That did not stop Cid's ice to completely encase Omega, though. While frozen his brand glowed a bright red and looked watery, as if it was about to melt right off his face at any moment. This body was just another form of Omega Weapon and it hadn't been broken down yet unlike the others. All he needed to was the right trigger and that trigger was to "die". This was his perfect chance. Shin walked over to Lightning with a slight limp. He didn't really know what was going on, but he didn't care. This place burned down once before and was rebuilt. What would make this time any different? Unless, of course, Omega decided that this place was beyond saving and threw it into the Void. Then it couldn't be rebuilt.
"Leave. Or I make you leave. I have no time for this," Omega threatened. If nothing he could do work, the last resort was to purge the entire village and everyone in it to the Rift just like the Phantom Village of another world. There it will be preserved in time, immune to both destruction and restoration. He's never had to do it in the past nor did he ever want to, as once it's done there's no way of returning it back to the world, but he was always willing to do it if it was absolutely necessary. Prisons. Shin's had enough of them ever since his recent release from the chamber underneath Taejin's Tower. He's gone through the ultimate prison, the Void, and broke out after a millennium of confinement. Sure that was back when he was the Divine Dragon, but this airship should be a piece of cake compared to that place. But for now, he'll play it cool.
Memories Dreams Time Fate Crash
Feeling a disturbance nearby, Omega quickly turned around and swung Masamune downward, unleashing Ultima in the form of an enormous, bright green blade beam directly at Alice. As it homed in on her, any and all structures that got in its way were severed in half so easily it was as if they were never there. Not forgetting his own situation, he returned back to Cid and Dahaka with a horizontal swing from Blood Sword, releasing that Ultima in a similar manner. As this beam streaked through the air it veered slightly, narrowly missing Cid but still hitting the intentional target: Dahaka's head. Cue the massive ethereal explosion upon contact. Shinryu regained consciousness. His vision blurred for a bit from the blow to the head, but quickly cleared up. The pain from his wounds in his arms and legs returned, but he's gone through worse. As he got himself up, he saw that he was back with the others. After retrieving his lance from a soldier's body, he glared at Argent coldly for a moment. Omega's attacks in the distance, which clearly stood out from the fires, diverted his attention. So he's here too...
"Focus or not, it's hard-coded into my body and mind. That is something that will never change even after billions upon billions of brandings," Omega protested. He felt his bones converting to crystal but after going through this process so many times there was no pain. "I'm not interested in your gods or your plans. They can go rot in the Void along with Cocoon for all I care. As long as the planet continues to dream, I will see to it that it survives until the day it wakes and my final function is fulilled. I don't have time to deal with you, Cid. The fal'Cie will die just like all the others before him."
The Cavalry soldiers began to approach Shin for capture, pushing him back. A nearby burning house collapsed and blocked off any possibility of backtracking. Cornered. Fight or give in; those where his current choices. And his choice? Spray and pray. In response, they fired back in light bursts. As he's never fired a gun, the recoil took him by surprise and put his balance and aim off. Only a few stray bullets actually hit any soldiers. Shin did his best to use his meatshield to take in all the fire, but he was easily overpowered. Though having the shield did help, only a couple shots to the legs and arms were enough to disable him. A final blow to the head was all that finished him off before they confiscated him and his weapon.
OOC: I realize that. I actually just might let Shin get captured and brought to Argent. BIC: Shin raised the soldier's body off the ground while keeping him on the lance. Though he's never used a gun before, he took his victim's weapon with his free hand and aimed it at the other members of the Cavalry behind him, using the corpse as a meatshield. Countless laser sights from their guns were all aimed at him. He never realized how many of them were there in Oerba. Did they bring in everyone? Oh. ****. Talk about facing impossible odds. But even with that, there's always a way to survive. He just hasn't found it yet.
"Hello again, Dahaka," Omega greeted the fal'Cie as he reappeared on the ground in front of it. He looked around to see the Cavalry already making their move. "I don't need to explain myself. You know why I'm here. This is classified as an attack on Pulse, as you already know. It's in my very nature to end this one way or another." He drew out his other sword and charged it with Ultima. "If everyone dies, everyone dies. I don't care if I take the blame for it. I've taken the blame for many happenings on this planet and some others. What's one more?" Omega pointed Masamune at the fal'Cie, infusing it with Ultima as well. A few members of the Guardian Corps that were clearing out the central square tried to get Shinryu out with the other civilians, but slightly hesitated when they saw he was holding a lance. The boy looked at them coldly with his golden eyes. There's no chance of him leaving unless he got the word from Lightning. His grip on his weapon tightened. As they were soldiers he figured that they would drag him out if they had to. So as soon as one approached and placed a hand on his shoulder, Shin elbowed the officer hard in the gut and quickly turned around to impale the man in the throat, staring at the soldier in the eyes without expression or emotion. Guns were then cocked and aimed at him. Nearby civilians witnessing what he did screamed in horror. I mean, who would've expected a 15 year old kid to do such a thing in a time like this?
