I'm not sure if anyone will ever truly understand the crazy that is me, and I know a few of you were hesitant with the new pictures and wondering what was about to happen, so I have to say...This is the most fun I've had editing a chorus video since Still Alive. When I enter a routine, I end up in a slump and my creativity and effort kind of decreases. This is why from time to time I try to shake things up with KHV Chorus. Sometimes that may annoy you all, but I do truly hope you understand. I had a lot of fun with this, so thank you to everyone who participated and trusted me. Here you go. F A Q ★ First of all, yes. Anyone can join. You can even invite friends to sign up for KHV and join the chorus. As long as you have a microphone, you are welcomed to sing with us. ★ KHV Chorus is a community project, but not one SET group of people. If you sign up for one song, you are not in any way obligated to participate in any more. That being said, if you never signed up for a song before, there is no special process you have to go through. All you have to do is pick the lines of said song you want, sing them, send them and then you're done! ★ You also don't have to know how to sing. NO ONE is judging you. No one. If someone says something rude, I'll beat them up for you. But I truly don't see that happening. We're a loving bunch. Don't be intimidated! <3 ★ Don't worry about your microphone quality, either. It's all for fun, after all! You don't have to feel pressured into buying a microphone for the project or anything. Whatever you have is cool. If you have anymore questions for me, let me know. This is because my main email account is flooded with KHV Chorus things, haha. ⬈ I will now only be accepting MP3 files. WAV files are humongous. For example, for Time Warp, the largest MP3 file I got was 4.26MB. The largest WAV file I got was 16.2MB. ...Yeah. And my hard drive space is in the red right now. There are various audio converters on the web. If you MUST record in WAV, please convert your files before you send them. I won't have time to convert everyone's WAV files. ⬈ All MP3s MUST be sent in ONE file. No zip files, unless you need to. Just ONE MP3. This MP3 MUST BE TIMED TO THE INSTRUMENTAL. I explain this more in the information thread. I figured it couldn't hurt to ask for some advice. I'm thinking about getting a new computer. I've been using laptops for about four years now, and as awesome as that's been, I'm considering getting a desktop... I haven't ever been computer shopping with my own money and I'm kind of freaking out. For the purpose of this thread, I'm going to say the highest I'm willing to spend is around $780, because as soon as I spend this money I'm back to nothing so I'd like to save a bit of it aidhaiod lololol. ...Also, I'm pretty sure almost anything will be a step up from my Compaq Presario that's already died once. Anyway, I'd like some suggestions, I guess. I use my laptop for a lot of digital stuff. Music production, video editing, gaming. It could run Portal and Portal 2, but not Amnesia. It has an intel integrated graphics card. I'll post more specs when I get home. I'd like a desktop capable of playing games...MMOs (my laptop was pretty decent at those, though it'd lag easily), video editing, multi-tasking, and internet smoothly without major lag. A webcam would be sexy, but isn't necessary. It'd be cool if the monitor was included, or it was all-in-one. I don't have any specific desired specs, so long as it can do these things. I hope that makes sense. If you can do any of this stuff nicely what kind of computer do you use? How much was it, if you know? Any links I can check out? If you have general knowledge of this kind of stuff, do you know of any cheap (or cheap enough) but capable manufactures or ...whatever that I should be looking for? I don't really know how to phrase this so I'm sorry if it's just a mess. Any help would be appreciated.

I am proud to say that after taking in Misty's setting suggestions, and some other advice, this video only took thirty minutes to render and it's still beautiful and fitting the screen and such. <3
For KHV Chorus and my own personal covers, I've been uploading them at MAXIUM QUALITY. ...Which literally takes my computer like four hours+ render, which is ridiculous. Because I really don't -need- it to be in the greatest quality since rarely anyone bothers to switch the quality from 340p to begin with. Yesterday I uploaded a cover of mine ("Sayoko" on my Youtube in my sig, since I don't know if it would be advertising to post it) using different settings. Instead of rendering in WMV, I switched to rendering in MP4 and lowered the quality to 720p HD ...or something. It worked out pretty well, rendering in 20 minutes instead of 2 hours like the instrumental did, but the video doesn't fill the screen and the better the quality you watch it in, the weirder the text looks. [/sob] Anyway, if anyone uses Sony Vegas, do you have any setting you use specifically? Any tips on getting faster rendering with still-pretty results? If you need anymore information, let me know.

No back to back lines meaning singing "the seaweed is always greener in somebody elses lake, under the seeeea, the carp plays the harp" etc, please stop. Sing your lines, and only your lines, and let the silence stay there. Please don't sing lines that aren't yours unless they're in another file that you send. Just sing your lines. Only your lines. Gray lines = sing them please? ;c It's a hassle to pick apart who sang them and who didn't and then only show those who sang them instead of showing everyone at once, so I usually just show everybody--which is stupid because it's obvious when everyone is not singing them, lol. Please sing them. Pay attention to the notes at the top of every song. I will tell you if it's okay to sing along with the original singer or if you should try to sing with the instrumental only. If you ever need a reference, just ask and I'll sing you one. If I provide a reference for extras like harmonies and stuff, please follow it. That's why I provide a reference. Not to be a control freak, but just...sometimes it sounds really bad. Really, really bad. Harmonies should be in-sync and they're more technical than ad-libs. Ad-libs you can have fun with and be individual about. Harmonies, however...Uniform and leveled, otherwise it's silly. It's like the difference between a solo and a quartet. You can be as unique as you want in your solos, but if you're singing with someone else and decide it'd be a good idea to go full-out screamo then it sounds bad and it's unfair to whoever you're singing with. There's a time to be uniformed, and a time to break free. I try to balance out the 'uniformed' and the individual parts. I've been lax about the renders, but it's really helpful to pick one where the character is standing up. Head to toe is the best. It's better if there are no weapons or unnecessary...accessories. A good example is the 500 miles video. So awkward when your render has a sword or something. There should be absolutely no background. Noooo backgrounnnnd. I'd render our images myself, but I'm horrible at that so please help out. ;c I've considered just drawing everyone a render to use because that would be a lot easier for me in the long run--but would take much longer. For those of you who aren't sure how to go about recording yourself singing it, there are several different programs you can use. Audacity is a free program. I use Reaper, which is also free for evaluation. What I'd like to ask if that you sing along with the instrumental/main track for timing, but your finished track not have the instrumental. For example, if you make two different tracks in a program, and record yourself singing on one track and have the instrumental on another track or playing on youtube or something while you sing your part, when you send it to me I would like to just hear your voice and not the instrumental. It is MUCH better for you to be too quiet than too loud. If you're quiet, I can turn your volume up. If you're too loud and your mic peaks, I have to turn your volume way dowwwn. You can sing along with the instrumental, and it's okay if the instrumental/main song is heard faintly in your recording, so long as it doesn't overpower you. For those of you who decide to use Reaper, I can show you a detailed tutorial on how to do it. Here's an Audacity tutorial written by P for Mulan, but whatever; Spoiler How to Use Audacity Getting the Stuff Go here and download the version for your computer. (Use the 1.3 series.) Install it in the manner appropriate for your OS. Go here to download and save the Mulan instrumental to somewhere on your computer. (Or whatever instrumental you may be using.) Opening the Instrumental Open Audacity. You'll should see this. Open the Mulan instrumental with Audacity. In a Mac, it's File>Open. Navigate to where you saved the Mulan instrumental, and open it. You should now see this. There are two tracks, for the two stereo tracks. Recording Open the Audacity preferences and look under the 'Recording' tab for the Overdub option. Make sure it is ticked, so you can hear the instrumental as you record. Mine looks like this, but yours may be slightly different. Press the red button up top. A new track will begin to record, as can be seen here Listen through the instrumental until you get to the part with the lines you need to sing, at which point, sing them. When the song is finished, press the yellow, square stop button. You should end up with something like this. Fixing Errors Of course, you'll probably screw up somewhere. That's why you can do it multiple times. Click mute on the mistake'd track, as in here. Next, click before the area where you made a mistake and press the record button. You can now sing the part again. When you're done, press the stop button. You'll end up with this. You can do this procedure as many times as needed, until all lines are correct on at least one track. Editing Now we have to delete everything except the lines you're gonna use. (You can now unmute any muted tracks.) We want to use the Split Delete tool. You do this by selecting the unwanted lines, as in here, and using Split Delete on it. On a Mac, the shortcut for it is Option+Command+K, but on a PC, at a guess, it would be Alt+Control+K. It will yield this result. Continue doing this until you've only got your lines left. Mine looks like this. Now we remove the instrumental track too, by pressing the X on the top-left of those two tracks. We're left with this. Sending to Jayn Now the hard work is done, we just need to export it. Go File>Export, and choose where to save the file. Make sure it is in WAV format. It'll look somewhat like this. Ignore this metadata thing that pops up. Just hit 'OK'. Likewise, hit OK on the Mono Channel warning. You're done! Now go and upload your file to some filehost, or email it to Jayn. Rules? Have fun! Sexuality: Not specified, although would normally answer with pansexual. Personality: A timid a quiet girl who can get embarrassed rather easily. She doesn't do well with people at all because she's has a bit of social anxiety. In her underlying personality, she's a bit of a masochist, but won't go to great lengths to experience pain, seeing as though there are only certain types of it that she likes. Alexandria dislikes it very much when people refer to her as Alex, and this is the only time where she will speak boldly and rather rudely to correct them, but soon resumes her actual personality. Most of the time she only speaks when spoken too and will often mumble her replies, cause a bit of frustration to those who talk to her. It seems she has a knack for getting herself lost without knowing it, and she's often curious about what lays outside of her home, which she often leaves to explore quietly. Calls himself a Faerie, though hardly the Tinkerbell sort. There seems to be some human in there, although it is often stifled. Powers ~ "I daresay you'll want to stay on my good side." DOMINION. Dona exerts varying levels of influence on others. This can be anything from forcing their obedience to inducing certain emotions in them. He can direct this force, with much effort, but as long as he is conscious (Bear in mind that he is tricky about sleep) it remains in passive effect around him, in which case the effects tend towards exposing or magnifying existing emotions in the affected. It seems to be dependent on his will versus the will of his target, and the strong-willed can resist it more reliably. PHANTASM. Dona is capable of frightening feats of illusion, and he can make them ever-so real for the one experiencing it. In fact, it's questionable if he's forcing a skewed version of reality on his victims, or simply tapping into what already exists. He may use his powers to aid him in sleight of hand, to launch an all-out assault from the shadows, and anything in between--and, perhaps, some things beyond. His one limit is that he can only employ what his victim would believe... but you'd be surprised what sorts of things you can convince someone to believe, under the right circumstances. WALLACHIA. Dona has a unique relationship with the castle; he seems to believe it is alive, although as with his other powers, it's a wonder if he's wrong or if everyone else is. In the ever-shifting manor, he always seems to know where to go, and is quick to discover new passages and wings. He may even be able to control the changes. He sometimes combines his first two powers with the third, to terrifying effect; even the other residents may be taken aback. Appearance ~ "Oh? Would you like a closer look?" Rather tall, averaging 6'2", though it seems to vary. Cut, but not buff; his strength would surprise you. Always clean-shaven, always... at least, everywhere that's polite to display in public. Obviously, his eyes must be a piercing, incandescent hue of green; for them to be otherwise just wouldn't be right. Likes to play with his hair color, though he seems to be naturally black-haired. Oh, and although he'll deny it up and down, he blushes candy-red, starting from the ears. Dresses variably from wild and technicolor to functional and brown, sometimes blends of those. For those of you who aren't sure how to go about recording yourself singing it, there are several different programs you can use. Audacity is a free program. I use Reaper, which is also free for evaluation. What I'd like to ask if that you sing along with the instrumental/main track for timing, but your finished track not have the instrumental. For example, if you make two different tracks in a program, and record yourself singing on one track and have the instrumental on another track or playing on youtube or something while you sing your part, when you send it to me I would like to just hear your voice and not the instrumental. It is MUCH better for you to be too quiet than too loud. If you're quiet, I can turn your volume up. If you're too loud and your mic peaks, I have to turn your volume way dowwwn. You can sing along with the instrumental, and it's okay if the instrumental/main song is heard faintly in your recording, so long as it doesn't overpower you. For those of you who decide to use Reaper, I can show you a detailed tutorial on how to do it. Here's an Audacity tutorial written by P for Mulan, but whatever; Spoiler How to Use Audacity Getting the Stuff Go here and download the version for your computer. (Use the 1.3 series.) Install it in the manner appropriate for your OS. Go here to download and save the Mulan instrumental to somewhere on your computer. (Or whatever instrumental you may be using.) Opening the Instrumental Open Audacity. You'll should see this. Open the Mulan instrumental with Audacity. In a Mac, it's File>Open. Navigate to where you saved the Mulan instrumental, and open it. You should now see this. There are two tracks, for the two stereo tracks. Recording Open the Audacity preferences and look under the 'Recording' tab for the Overdub option. Make sure it is ticked, so you can hear the instrumental as you record. Mine looks like this, but yours may be slightly different. Press the red button up top. A new track will begin to record, as can be seen here Listen through the instrumental until you get to the part with the lines you need to sing, at which point, sing them. When the song is finished, press the yellow, square stop button. You should end up with something like this. Fixing Errors Of course, you'll probably screw up somewhere. That's why you can do it multiple times. Click mute on the mistake'd track, as in here. Next, click before the area where you made a mistake and press the record button. You can now sing the part again. When you're done, press the stop button. You'll end up with this. You can do this procedure as many times as needed, until all lines are correct on at least one track. Editing Now we have to delete everything except the lines you're gonna use. (You can now unmute any muted tracks.) We want to use the Split Delete tool. You do this by selecting the unwanted lines, as in here, and using Split Delete on it. On a Mac, the shortcut for it is Option+Command+K, but on a PC, at a guess, it would be Alt+Control+K. It will yield this result. Continue doing this until you've only got your lines left. Mine looks like this. Now we remove the instrumental track too, by pressing the X on the top-left of those two tracks. We're left with this. Sending to Jayn Now the hard work is done, we just need to export it. Go File>Export, and choose where to save the file. Make sure it is in WAV format. It'll look somewhat like this. Ignore this metadata thing that pops up. Just hit 'OK'. Likewise, hit OK on the Mono Channel warning. You're done! Now go and upload your file to some filehost, or email it to Jayn. Rules? Have fun!
