I tend to ramble on when I have ideas so I'll try to be brief this time around. I'm interested in hearing what you guys would think about tweaking the signature size rule a bit. I'm asking for suggestions, as well, because I don't even know how to phrase what I'm thinking of correctly. Currently, there is a limit on how large your signature can be. 500 x 500 (in total). I don't find this entirely unreasonable. The amount of signatures over that limit, however, has been increasing lately. (I would give examples, but that feels like calling-out somehow, haha). My issue is that if I wanted my signature to look like this (screen zoomed out), it could. If I want it to look like this (and I don't, lol), it isn't allowed. Simply put, in my opinion, it makes more sense to judge by how obnoxious your signature is in regards to others (for example, stretching the page, or a huge block of picture, gigantic bright pink marque text.) I believe a set of dimensions is convenient because then there's no debate. It's simple, but I don't know. Like I said, I'm asking for thoughts and opinions on this as well, since telling someone to change their signature because it's annoying to look at isn't really a better method than the 500 x 500 thing, but I would like to be able to...yeah. Change that. I may also have a problem with this because I have the habit of using PNG transparency a lot, which ends up taking more room than the actual image is. Just an offhand suggestion. I won't fight to the death for it, I don't want to argue, etc, etc.
Not to be confused with invitation only role plays.There is a rule in the RP Arena against 1 x 1 role plays, which, simply put are role plays only involving two people. In my experience with them, someone usually posts a thread saying they're searching for a role play partner, and they list what they're interested in role playing, etcetc. Members respond if they're interested, then they either make a thread (or RP on MSN/VM/PM) and role play there. I'm not sure who wrote this rule, or why it was implemented originally, but here it is; 'Kay so obviously I didn't write this rule, but it got me thinkin'. Very recently, one of our fellow RPers asked me where they would post a thread asking for an RP partner for a 1 x 1 role play and I had to remind them that 1 x 1 (or two person) RPs aren't allowed. I suppose I wanted to know your thoughts?I understand invitation-only role plays not being allowed. I think they're exclusive and unnecessary. But I'm wondering if it would be a decent idea to eliminate this rule, or not, or what you guys think about the idea/concept.

It's a bit unfortunate that some of our RP Idol regulars are away (or really busy), but despite that we have a bunch of great members participating this round and quite a few new faces to welcome. I want to take a moment to congratulate the last two winners of the past RP Idols, P (or Pika_Power) and Maddie (or TheOnly9One). You must try your best to introduce your two characters to us for the first time and get us familiar with them while hopefully keeping the scenario interesting and creative. With MeDeadline: Before April 3rd. What is Duet Roulette? How can I join? Notes; ★ This one will be a duet. This part of it is only half generated, by the way. The project is meant to be mostly duets, but I take the following into consideration; Is it a really well known popular song? Would it make more sense for two, three or four people to be singing this when I split the lyrics? Is it romantic, inspirations, fun, silly? Is there a main chorus going on? etcetc? I decided Defying Gravity should be a quartet due to the fact that I wanted as many people able to participate in our first project as possible. That kind of thought process going into figuring out how many people should sing it. I figured this would be a really cute duet, and a little break for a lot of us before the next big chorus (which'll be after this). On a more important note, originally two boys were pulled for this song. Then I realized there was something I hadn't really thought about because it doesn't matter to me, personally...But if you would be uncomfortable singing romantically with your gender, please do the following...Click the link. ★ Sigh. The instrumental isn't official. I've asked the uploader for permission, and the version is acoustic. I even tried to buy it on Amazon, but it wasn't there so. :/ We'll just go about it and I'll PM the uploader and send the video and re-ask for permission if I don't get it in the next four days. That being said, it may take a day of listening to the song on repeat until you can sing it with the instrumental. Warning; Death, blood, horror. Also I apologize if this thread exists, I tried to search. Anyway, the series isn't over yet. I was originally not going to watch this anime because the first episode was awkward, in my opinion, and didn't exactly leave my feeling curious about the series. I thought it was going to stay awkward and creepy but non-exciting. I feel I should explain how I choose what anime to watch. When I finish a series, I watch a lot of first episodes. I mean like 20+ first episodes. The ones that I enjoy the most, I put priority into watching. Occasionally, I'll watch an anime due to hype. However, RvR and a couple of others told me it picked up and actually became interesting so I gave it a go. I don't even know how to describe my feelings. It turned into one of those animes that I couldn't stop watching. I started about a week or two ago, and spent nearly an entire day involuntarily catching up with the series. It became gripping and interesting to me to the point of just, oh gosh. Spoiler: taglinederp WHO IS DEAD. Anyway, I really enjoy this series. It's pretty dark and...shockingly disturbing, but I really enjoy a good horror anime so I highly recommend it if any of you are as into that sort of thing as I am. Part of what made it so entertaining for me, also, was probably the fact that I was watching it with someone and we're highly dramatic people and there were a lot of high-tense scenes that made us flip together. There are definitely some parts that are a little confusing (or something you'd yell at the character for), but it's made up for by the fun of it, in my opinion. Anyone have any thoughts on the series? If you're thinking about watching it, do that so I can freak out with you.
Role Play Idol { Season Three } Introduction Welcome to Role Play Idol! An original role play competition! 'Original' role playing (on KHV) is the acting out of a particular character you create yourself, from scratch. From name and age to bio and personality, you create this character and act them out in a story-like format with other players. So, do you enjoy role playing, competitions, or just writing in general? What about if you need help sharpening your role play skills, want to get back into it (or start it), or want to meet and interact with new people or role players? This competition may be for you! We're finally back for a new season. It's been a while, but during this 'hiatus' I've reorganized some things and tweaked a bit to help this run smoother so pay close attention. Based on the feedback of the last couple of seasons, this season will be highly interactive. The themes will be more like scenarios in which the judges will also be role-playing with you, giving you tasks and missions to complete. At the end of the scenarios (which will be like mini-role plays), you will be critiqued like normal and we'll vote. <: More information and examples to come with the first challenge. The competition will last however long it lasts, at this point. There will be several different challenges and themes, and this will work in an 'American Idol' style. There will be four judges. You can not compete and be a judge at the same time, but no matter who you are, you can apply to be a judge. There will be no more than 12 contestants a season. At the end of each challenge, the panel of judges will give their critiques to each member on their performance, and there will be a voting period. Contestants and judges will be able to vote for their favorites, with no voting for themselves of course. The winner will be crowned KHV's Role Play Idol and you also receive a pin! Okay, so I can just sign up and do whatever I want then? ...No, lol. Here are some guidelines/rules. ♣ There is no voting for yourself and when you vote, you must put a valid reason for why you're voting for who you're voting for in a post. ♣ Please be original. Your character cannot be from another anime, game, etc, unless the challenge causes for them to be. ♣ Your entry OC must be as simplified as possible. That means no powers or anything weird like that. Why? Because some of the challenges might conflict with that. Don't worry, the competition isn't that straight edge. You'll get to play with some powers. ♣ No god-modding. Yes, this still applies. No power playing. ♣ Do not ignore the other contestants. Interact with everyone fairly. ♣ Activity will be important, but you have three days to post between challenges and voting periods. ♣ Try to stay in character. ♣ A judge cannot be a contestant. ♣ You must have two characters. A girl, and a boy. They can be the same person, just gender flipped with different names if you want, but you'll see why this matters later. ♣ Don't bring drama into this. If you're paired up with someone you dislike during a challenge, and/or you get voted out, don't rage. Just deal with it, or try again next time. ♣ You cannot have your friends vote for you. I think I said it before, but people outside of the competition can vote for the contenders, but must provide a valid reason for doing so--like everyone else. If I find out you've asked your buddy to go vote for you and BS some reason, you will be disqualified. It is unfair and dishonest. Same goes for constantly voting for your friends, and for not voting at all. If you are a judge, your job is to read the posts, and follow the competition. Before the poll goes up, all of the judges will critique every contestant on their performance, and state who they think is the winner. You guys aren't actually apart of the competition, but you help with the voting process, and eventually, crowning the winner. Your sign up is nonexistent, anyone can be a judge, even if you don't role play. Just be fair and send me a private message. Anyone posting on this thread about wanting to be a judge will be tsk'd and denied. First come, first serve. You can NOW be a judge over and over, if you want. This was originally different, but due to the inactivity of the last judges, I think it would work out better to have those who are really dedicated and wanting to be on the panel able to be on it. I would prefer the judge have MSN, because that's where most of the discussion will be taking place and it's the easiest. This is actually somewhat of a requirement now. Please have MSN and be active on it. Getting in contact with people through KHV is near impossible when they vanish. You'll have to write for each person. Twelve in total, and you can't be lazy about it. You must post ON TIME. ON TIMMMME! This is so that all members get equal feedback and equal footing and chance to improve. If I can't get in touch with you for judging, or you don't get online, or you don't post your critiques, or aren't there for the group discussions without adequate reason and discussion with me, etc, etc, you will be dropped and replaced as a judge with a back-up judge and also be placed on probation for future seasons. (Which pretty much means that if you judged for Season Two, you're on probation for this season, excluding Tummer. |: ) Probation is more of a detention period, in this case. Meaning that you also will not have access to becoming a judge until later Seasons when enough time has passed. The reason for this is because it is entirely unfair to me, the other judges and the contestants for you to be inconsistent, or deem the work is too hard for you and just leave, lol. Please do not sign up for this job unless you can stick with it until the very end. Of course, this all excludes EMERGENCIES. So if something suddenly happens, like someone dies, or your power blacks out for a month or something, or your falling wayyy behind in school or something (and you don't have a history of claiming so and remaining super active everywhere else) then okay no punishment and it's understood. The last competition took two months for reference on how long you'd be committing. For this season, judges will also be required to be active participants in the challenges. It's not a particularly special number, but it is a pretty good number to get a sort-of CD out of. Once we're all finished with the song, I'm going to be compiling a zip file of all of the songs we've done so far including some bonus tracks (RAW vocals, bloopers, silly adlibs and such). All of the files will be in high quality MP3 format. The ZIP file will also include Album Art, a message from the singers, AND instructions on how to actually burn yourself a physical CD that you can play in your car and...other places people use CDs. ...This is obviously where you come in. If you have participated in KHV Chorus at all, ever, you can PM me a written message you would like to be included in the package/zip. I will put all messages together in a pretty fashion so that when you download the CD you can see what everyone wrote. I'll only be including POSITIVE messages so please don't expect to show up if you're being a jerk. If you are either a traditional artist or a graphic artist, you can PM me some examples of your work and any ideas you have for the album art and an estimate of how long it would take you. If you draw it, you don't have to draw the art electronically, but if you do choose the pen & paper method, please make sure you'll have a way to capture it digitally and send it to me in high quality. :) The current deadline for the message and the artwork is set to April 1st. As I stated in the casting thread, my original plan for this video was more elaborate ...But in the end, it didn't feel very fitting due to how gentle the song is and I thought it was overkill. /hehe So I started over and decided to save the more 'intense' video ideas for future choruses. After our next chorus (our 16th release), I plan on putting together a sort of 'CD'/Zip-File of all of the songs we've done so far in HQ MP3 format. As you all know by now, we have a really, really, really long pending list and we can't open up suggestions again until all of the songs are done. The purpose of this project is to help up us variety to the chorus as well as power through that list so we can get a chance at some other songs and keep the chorus alive and active! WHAT IS THIS? Duet Roulette is a project in which you can sign up to sing a duet, trio or quartet with other KHV members! Maybe you'll make a new friend, hm? All you have to do is post in this thread after filling out the small form at the bottom. As usual, I'll be composing the video and mixing the vocals for you, so all you have to do is send in your parts to chorus@kh-vids.net. The finished product will be uploaded to our Youtube and posted on KHV. The songs for these duets/trios/quartets will be pulled from our Pending list, helping us get through it faster. Songs that are done in a duet/trio/quartet can be re-suggested for our full chorus (everyone) when suggestions are opened up. (Which will also eliminate songs that no one really wants to do and are thus never re-sugessted, lolol.) These projects will be complied in between our full chorus songs. For example, during our voting breaks, or when I'm receiving help with one of the full choruses and have more time. It's like a KHV Chorus spin off that'll ultimately bring us down to a more personal level while still maintaining the main idea. HOW DOES IT WORK? Our pending list can be found here. When you sign up, you will be given a number and put on the 'participants' list. When a new project is going to happen, I will randomly pull a song from Voting and Suggestions (they are numbered as well), as well as 2-4 participants from the list. The purpose of the randomization is to introduce you to new people, make sure every song gets a fair chance as well as everyone getting a fair chance to participate without the awkward...'Friends chose friends everyone else is left out' thing happening. I will PM the members randomly chosen and 'invite' them to participate in the project. This is so that if you're busy, having technical problems or out of town/etc, I can chose someone else before posting the casting thread and revealing who everyone will be singing with and what song they got. Also, these things are all for fun, so please try not get all self-conscious, we all love you and no one is judging you. If the song is in another language, I will translate it if requested (by anyone in the singing group). If you just absolutely cannot do the song, you can let me know privately, but please stay open minded. The potential challenge is part of the fun! I am offering my services as a permanent 'fill-in', which means that if someone drops out after a bit of time has passed, instead of redrawing and giving someone a total disadvantage with time, I'll fill in for the drop out regardless of the song. If you would like to be a permanent fill-in as well, you may state so in your form. After we get some participants (lol no one signs up and Jayn cries), I will cast for an example mini-chorus to be worked on/deadline set after You'll Be In My Heart is over.
