Hi everyone! It might seem a bit out of the blue to announce something like this, but I'd like to start being more proactive about keeping you guys updated on new features on the site -- the staff is constantly doing little work that may go unnoticed. What we've got today is the ability to submit videos in bulk to our Video Portal. Until now, you could only submit videos one by one. For lively YouTubers, this can be a nightmare! Now, when you go to submit media, you can choose Submit Bulk Playlist from the dropdown. View attachment 37478 A pop-up will appear asking for a URL to your playlist. You can grab this from your YouTube page -- for example, the URL to our playlist for Kingdom Hearts II is https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL39CC1162037CE63F. If your playlist contains more than 25 items, you should increase that value -- if you have less than 25, you can leave it be. When you hit submit, you'll be brought to a new page listing all your videos. You can add them in bulk to a pre-existing playlist of yours, as well as place them in a certain category. You can also edit their information individually, and uncheck the videos you don't wish to submit. Once you're done, all you have to do is hit Save Media and it will be uploaded to the Portal! We hope that this will encourage more activity on our Video Portal. Please note that videos must be manually approved, so you'll have to bear with our staff as we sort through. We tend to be pretty prompt. Right now the Video Portal may seem like nothing more than a nice place to showcase your videos, but we hope you'll all look forward to some updates coming to the Top 5 in the future. ;)

Recently, an internal Square-Enix Europe document (pictured below) has been circulating on the internet, containing information about their soon-to-be-released titles (like Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII) and titles still in development (notably Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III). View attachment 37471 No doubt in impatience for said titles, The Game Inquirer took the change from a TBC release date to 2014 as confirmation that the game may out sooner than anticipated. Square replied to these rumors shortly after: Suffice to say, Kingdom Hearts 3 won't be hitting the shelves anytime soon. From interviews and appearances, it's safe to say that the final chapter of the Xehanort Saga is still in very early development -- it's far too early to consider a release date, but that won't stop us from speculating! Chegg always throws in promotional stuff with textbook rentals, usually it's all crap but I'm a Hulu Plus subscriber and I enjoy it. Basically the code is good for at least one month, with the chance to get up to six. Pretty sure you can just cancel when the trial is over. I'll message it to the first person to reply~
Hi everyone! This has been a busy past couple of days for KH-Vids, with a new style and our annual Castle Oblivion event. This is a feature I wanted to launch with the former, but we had some troubles with the installation that prevented us. I'm sure you can all forgive such a short delay. For those who were with us during our vBulletin days, you may recall our Canned Replies or Post Templates feature. Basically what they allowed you to do was save certain text/formatting, which could then be automatically inserted into your threads and posts. We lost that feature when we moved to XenForo last year, but we're now proud to finally bring it back! You can edit your macros like you would any other part of your profile or preferences, or just click this link. On the Macros page, you can hit the Create Macro button at the top right. Save your macro and you're good to go! From this page, you can also edit or delete existing macros. When you've created a macro (or macros), there will be a new dropdown box where you can select the macro to insert on your posts. The macro will be added to the text input field, and you can do what you wish with it. If you don't want to use the macros functionality, the dropdown won't appear at all, so don't worry about it cluttering up your page. You are allowed up to 10 macros at a time, though Premium Members get an extra five (15 total). I would like to remind everyone that macros are not intended to allow you to use the same (or similar) replies over and over again, particularly within the introduction section. Any user seen doing this will be contacted by the staff for spamming and face the necessary consequences. Now, onto the Video Portal! We've updated our video portal to the newest version, which brings a lot of fixes and improvements. Some of the changes: Performance enhancements & bug fixes Submissions: We now support submissions from not only YouTube, but also 1UP, DailyMotion, GameSpot, GameTrailers, Justin.TV, Metacafe, NicoVideo, Revision 3, SoundCloud, Twitch.TV, uStream, Veoh, and Vimeo. If there's another site you upload to a lot, feel free to let us know and we'll look into adding it! Responsive design to fit in with KH-Vids 8.0 Every media/playlist listing page can now be sorted by a myriad of extra sorting options. Including date, most views, likes, comments, etc. There is now a new Trending sort option. This trending sort is similar to the Popular sort, except that it penalizes older views. It basically lists recent popular videos. There is now a "Your Media" subsection on the media subnav. Users can now view a summary of media/playlists they have created and run batch processes on them. Users can also bulk add media directly into a single playlist with these pages. High quality thumbnails Playlists now have views and likes counters Playlists can now be made public/private/unlisted. Naturally, private playlists will only be viewable by the owned user, and unlisted playlists will not appear in the public listings. Keywords no longer have their own static pages. Instead, Keywords act as "filters" in all existing listing pages. You can add keywords; multiple if you wish, to filter results. and much more! We've had users report issues with the Video Portal tab leading you to a Page Not Found error. Users experiencing this issue should clear their browser cache and, if that does not work, their cookies as well. If you need help or more information, please ask. View attachment 37119 Hello everyone, and welcome back! First, I'd like to apologize for the length of today's downtime. We had some very unexpected server issues hold us back. There will be some temporary residual effects (which I'll explain below), but the site is in working condition. As you can see, things look quite different. I took the site down to update to a new version of Xenforo, as you all know. Xenforo 1.2 is a major update to our forum system, ushering in a great deal of new features, which I will outline later in this post. It makes some fundamental changes to the way the forum is coded to allow for a responsive design. To take full advantage of that design, I set out, with the help of @Llave and @libregkd , to create our brand new KH-Vids 8.0! Basically, along with all the new functionality and features Xenforo 1.2 adds, we’ve got a new style to boot. I’m sure you all will discover some of the changes in due time, but I’ll highlight some of the most exciting ones for you. A New Editor Many of you were upset after the move to Xenforo with the editor, which was significantly less functional (and more buggy) than the CKEditor on vBulletin. We now have a new, Redactor-based editor that not only looks better, it functions a lot better too. Optimized & Mobile Friendly: Much lighter code and faster to load. Redactor depends on jQuery and benefits from that. Formatting: When pasting, most formatting is removed (though some is kept). However, if you're pasting within KH-Vids, all formatting is maintained. Pasting Images: If you use Chrome or Firefox and have an image in your clipboard, you can simply paste it into the editor Drag & Drop Uploads: Provided your browser supports it, you can now drag files into the editor to upload them. View attachment 37124 User Tagging: You can now tag users in posts, like you do on Twitter. Tagged users will receive an alert when they're tagged (if you want, you can disable those alerts). Smilies: Gone is the smiley dropdown! Inserting smilies is a lot easier now. Auto-Save Drafts: While you are typing a message, every 60 seconds a draft of your message will be saved. If you reload the page later, your message will be automatically re-shown. Drafts will be automatically pruned over time, or you can delete them manually. Conversation Improvements Private Conversations have also seen a few improvements. For one, you can now star the most important conversations (like email filtering), manage conversations in bulk, and filter by starter and participant. New Member List (“Notable Members”) The member list has been significantly condensed and redesigned to enhance its performance. Now it displays the “top” members in certain categories (like most posts, likes, trophies, etc.). It also lists today’s birthdays and has a separate tab for staff members. View attachment 37122 KH-Vids 8.0 This is the most exciting change of all. It’s best explained visually (so just browse the site), but I can still show off some of the biggest changes! Responsive Design KH-Vids 8.0 employs Xenforo 1.2’s responsive design. What that means is that the site will “respond” to the width of your browser window. That means that KH-Vids 8.0 is completely mobile friendly, without having to switch between mobile and full styles. Note: Not all of the site's pages are updated to respond to browser width. They will be updated gradually in the coming weeks.Responsive design is best displayed by just adjusting the width of your browser window. Notice how the site automatically changes to compensate! A New Logo KH-Vids 8.0 features a new logo. The old logo, while it has seen updates between versions, has remained essentially the same since KH-Vids 5.0. To fit with the new color scheme & direction, we've replaced it with something brand new! In addition, the new logo will also respond to the width of the browser window, shortening to a condensed version. The mobile logo is also retina ready, so it'll look crisp and clean on your iPhone & iPads. Usergroup Banners In order to better differentiate between the usergroups of KH-Vids, you can now clearly see it labelled within posts. These banners are color-coded and display for every group (including Premium Members, though theirs is slightly different than the staff's) except Normal Members. Back to Top The new style features a back to top button on all pages, similar to the one on sites like Tumblr. When clicked, you will get a nice scroll animation that will quickly return you to the top of the page. The button is on by default, but you can disable it within your preferences. View attachment 37121 The back to top button will shift to a horizontal design when the width of your browser falls below a certain size (usually on mobile devices). View attachment 37123 Default Avatars Finally, something hardly anyone will notice, but that adds a nice touch all the same. If a user doesn't have an avatar (whether they never added one or they removed theirs), a preset image will display. On 7.0, it was a blue crown. We needed a new one for 8.0, and so I decided to recreate a character from the KH mobile art... View attachment 37120 And much more! There's quite a bit more visual appeal awaiting, but there's only so much I can describe! What broke. As I said, the errors during our upgrade caused some residual effects. We're working to solve them, but as of now, there are three things to be aware of: first, the add-on that automatically sends messages & alerts when a moderator edits or deletes one of your posts has been temporarily disabled while we work out some errors with it. Secondly, our search is currently non-functioning. That may take a few days to repair, as it requires our owner to toggle something for us, and then we'll rebuild the search index (which will take a while, but the site can remain open while we do). On the plus side, that means that search results will be accurate and cover all of KHV! Thirdly, all of our site pages will need to be recoded to fit better with the new skin and the responsive design. This will be my major project over the coming weeks, so please be patient! The Cutscene Archive landing page has already been redone, so if you want an idea of what's in store, take a look at it. ;) This style has been many months in the works, so we hope all of our hard work has paid off. Its feature was merely part of their "Previews" section, so it's no in-depth look at the title. Within the Feedback & Assistance forum I've been promising for some time now that we'd be updating to a newer version of our forum software (Xenforo 1.2). After months of diligent work (or as diligent as a full time student/part time worker can be without losing her mind), we're finally ready! Unfortunately I cannot provide any specific time frame for the update, as it is rather extensive. The downtime will likely commence midday on the 20th (GMT -5) and continue for a few hours. We'll likely be back up by the late afternoon. Because this update has been long in the works, I promise it won't disappoint! It will bring a lot of new features and functionality to the site--but I'll hold off on detailing them until the update is completed. I don't want to ruin the surprise! I woke up this morning to find I had 12 unread emails, which is quite a lot more than usual. I trudged through several offers for "final Black Friday" sales to find that, early this morning, someone added $140 in funds to my wallet on the PSN (I already had $10 in there), and used that $150 to buy points in FIFA14. I have never played a FIFA game. I changed my password and then I called Sony's support line (800-345-7669, if anyone else has this issue, might be US only). They asked me a couple of account information questions, then questions about my last legitimate purchases, how old my PS3 & PS4 were, and so on. I explained the situation ("uh yeah I did not buy $150 worth of items for a game I do not own or intend to ever own") After that the person I spoke to said that they would be putting in a refund request, to be processed in 5 to 7 business days; the money would go back into my wallet and she could leave a note to have it returned to my bank account (which I wanted). After that she tried to sell me a protection plan but I've learned from my days at Best Buy that you get in trouble if you don't try to sell it so I wasn't too mean when I turned it down. v: While I was waiting on hold I did some research and apparently this has affected lots of users. Sony has already prompted people to change their passwords. Some of the early people to have charges on their account seem to have had some trouble with Sony support, but as the issue has become more widespread it seems that Sony has been more standard in their replies. Not to fear monger or anything, but I wanted to warn everyone to review the security on your PSN account password, and to watch your transactions closely for a while. You should be automatically notified of transactions via email so that's quite easy (if you regularly check your email, that is...). I don't think the issue is that widespread, but $150 is a lot of money to be out for potentially a week.
Okay KHV SO as some of you know I work in a movie theater. Part of that job is cleaning up after movies, so I end up listening to a lot of credits music. I liked two of the songs in the Catching Fire credits so I grabbed the soundtrack, which has some other solid tracks. I thought to myself "hey maybe you should go see this movie," having had a passing interest in Hunger Games just because I wanted to see what all the hooplah was about. I'm also intrigued by its having a female protagonist, though I have heard some feminist critiques of where the sequels go (but I'd like to judge for myself). I'm also going to school for adolescent English education so I figure I should get an idea of WHAT DA KIDZ LIKE 2 READ People tell me to watch the movies but I like to read (a lot) & would rather read the books first. I've always been kinda stopped because I don't like the way they're written, though I imagine they'd be a pretty fast read. sooooo my question to y'all is: if you have read the books, would you recommend them? Or should I just watch the movies? Is the narrative structure of the books as irritating as it seems, or did you get into it? edit plz no spoils even though i think i know the basic plot of the first book
For the past uh... few years (?) I've been driving a 2001 VW Cabrio (not my choice). The thing was a nightmare, by the end of it I'd sunk around $4k (well over what I paid for it) into fixing it. Just two weeks ago I had to replace the entire air filtering & exhaust system. Brakes are definitely about to go and there's a coolant leak. The roof leaks. SO AFTER MONTHS OF SEARCHING... As Krowley posted earlier this morning, D23 confirmed the release of Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix. Along with that big reveal, a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 was shown. Because the event allowed no cameras and had no livestream, we won't have footage until they put up an official version. However, event attendees of course went to Twitter with their thoughts, and you can view translations below! All translations are thanks to the diligent work of SQEX☆GAL. We'll of course keep you all updated with further impressions and reports from the event. Here's hoping the trailer is uploaded soon! What do you all think? Might we see a Toy Story world? Hey everybody. As you might have noticed, we had some downtime lasting a little over an hour. There was a small security issue with our Social Groups add-on. I couldn't get on immediately so I took the board down, and a temporary fix has been applied. Everything should be okay, but if you notice anything out of order, please post in this thread or otherwise contact me. Those who utilize Social Groups should be aware that, in order to fix it, I had to disable their moderation privileges within their social group. This will hopefully be a temporary fix as we look for a permanent solution to the problem. If, in this time, you need threads moved, posts deleted, or any similar moderation, please just contact a Super Moderator or an Administrator and we'll get right on it for you. Likewise, if anyone finds anything they feel might be a security issue with the site, please message a member of staff immediately.
