Thanks. I think... I'll keep trying. =)
Well, I mean... it was a chance meeting. I don't know for certain if the guy WAS flirting with me, and what are the odds of him even remembering me? At least, that's what part of me thinks. I just sometimes feel like it's completely stupid to hope to see the guy again and for something good to come of it, when it was just me having bought a strategy guide and met the guy for like 5 minutes.
I went to a GameStop a few weeks ago with a few friends. While I was there, one of the workers was really friendly; my friends think he was flirting with me. I recall leaving and happening to turn around to talk to one of my friends and the guy was watching me, chin in his hands while he was smiling. Now... I've gone back to that GameStop a few times, kinda hoping to see the guy. His nametag was backwards so I couldn't see his name, so I don't know it. And... I don't know, it's been nearly a month, and I haven't seen the guy again. The chances of him remembering me are slim, as are the chances of him being gay and having actually been flirting with me. I feel kinda stupid for even hoping to meet him again and maybe have something come out of it, but... I don't know. Is it so moronic to want to go back and possibly run into him again?
He didn't seem to necessarily slam on Twilight; he doesn't think the writing is all that great, but he understands and admires why people like it, it seemed.
I still find it amusing.
It's possible they'll be released simultaneously. I remember seeing a statement from the president of S-E that he wanted to move toward simultaneous release dates for their games, though I think it's somewhat unlikely. Then again, CoM was released very close together originally. So, we'll have to see.
Freedom of speech is still around. For instance, it's pretty much the only reason why, say, the Westboro Baptist Church still can legally function. =P That being said, there are things that some will find offensive and some will not. For instance, you mentioned "that's so gay". I have mixed feelings about this. I've said it only a few times, and some of my friends say it; in that case, I can overlook it. (It actually annoys me more if they do it, remember that they're around me, then overapologize.) But, I'd prefer people didn't use it; while it doesn't mean 'happy' anymore, it doesn't mean that the word 'gay' will mean stupid. I think, it seems like it's an insult to gay people. Like, sure, people may not think "Well, I have nothing against gay people!" (and some gay people use worse 'gay' insults, anyway), but to me it looks like it's saying "That's so stupid! And gays are stupid, so it's gay!". It's not literally saying that, but that's sort of the connotation, especially because people DO use "gay" to mean "homosexual". If it were a word that is falling out of use, it wouldn't be as bad, but "gay" is still widely used. As Harlequin said, it sounds rude, childish, and stupid. (though I will admit, it can be used to make things funny. for instance, my friend Chi says, "That's so gay it makes Yuki go 'daaaaayum!'" and things like that.) But all in all, it's not an issue of freedom of speech; it's an offensive phrase. While people may think it's being 'too politically correct', I disagree. I think that, for one, it's 'too politically correct' to stop people from saying stuff like that because they aren't gay and don't agree with it. And second, it's not like people are telling you not to say a ton of different things; they simply want to try and stop the use of an offensive phrase. You can voice your distaste for something far more eloquently and intelligently than "OMG THAT'S GAY!".
I would think you should ask him to pay you back or something like that. But, don't demand it; depending on your age that could possibly work out for the worst.
True friends are the people that are there for you. They support you and accept you (even if they don't agree with you), and even if there are misunderstandings, you're able to trust them.
I highly doubt your friend 'changed' his sexual orientation; instead, he just came out to you. Most likely, he's always been bisexual and just realized it, and trusted you enough to tell you. My advice? Treat him exactly the same as you would normally. He's still the same person.
I wouldn't care. Besides, it'd be cool to see more gay characters in games.
I enjoyed Ring of Fates more, to be honest. I've not beaten III yet, but it's just... well, to me it's not as fun as IV was, by a longshot. I'd say Chrono Trigger or Ring of Fates.
I thought the Pope's statement was rather rude, to be quite honest. Gay people are same as regular people, and their actions don't hurt anyone, so why on earth is it some horrible thing? Then again, I'm heavily biased, being gay and all XD
I tend to prefer blond guys. Dunno why. I myself am brunet. Though my friends say I'd be a better blond XD
... and almost every other MMO gameplay isn't the same?
So far, Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online is good. It's only in Closed Beta, though, and signups are currently closed.
I enjoyed Lunia. And Shin Megami Tensei looks like it'll be cool.
It kinda makes me wonder, with the camera, if they could port cell-phone games to it. Specifically, I'm thinkin' about Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII; didn't they use a camera in part of the game...?
It's not that it's a "better name". Her name originally WAS "Aerith"; it was a mistranslation in the first place to call her "Aeris".
The World Ends With You.
