It probably didn't glitch on Ansem 1, you need to do a good amount of damage when he taunts Riku to perfom the Reality Shift.

As much as I'd love to see Dream Eaters again, I doubt it'll happen.
Dream Eaters can't get out of the Realm of Sleep except for that specific case with Sora and Riku, where

they actually came from Sora's dreams and managed to stay in the Realm of Light because Sora was still sleeping.

And now that there are no sleeping worlds(well, at least soon there will be none, which is why Sora had to hurry into Traverse Town), there won't be Dream Eaters anymore.

He said either could make the X-Blade, as in, if the 7 protectors choose not to fight, he'll just get the princess instead.

As for my guess, Mickey, Riku, Aqua, Ven and Kairi are definitely in, though I'm sketchy about Sora, Lea and obviously Terra.
Sora seems more special and yet not special enough to fit in the group, I mean, MX said fate would choose 7 lights by itself, but everything Sora acomplished was through the bonds with the fated ones, so he might not be part of the lights, and instead he's the one that breaks the tie between the two groups.
Lea might be in if Roxas and Xion don't get restored, otherwise, I'm sure either of them, preferably Roxas, would take a spot, sinnce all of Lea's motivation is to save him and Xion, and that's probably his part in all of this.
Terra's on Xehanort side, and while he will get saved, by then the world will probably have found it's 7 lights, and he could perhaps still count as one of the darkness even fighting for the light.

Everything resetted, including paths unlocked with dispositions (Unless you loaded a save that had that disposition, then that specific path will be open).

And yeah, affection levels are permanent. Unless of course you let that DE die or go away, when you recruit it again it'll be back at 3(or up to 6 depending on the command you use while making it).

If you're using Sora, keep distance and use Baloon/ga whenever he's far, when he starts with the thunder things, superglide for your life until it's done and repeat.
With Riku it gets a lot easier, just doubleflight at the middle of the arena and spam Firaga Burst, he'll most likely jump to the building and into either platforms on the sides of the arena, but he won't hit you. When he starts with the thunder, Dark Barrier can block all of it, then just Dark Roll until it's safe to use Firaga Burst again. Dark Firaga and Meteor Crash also do a lot of damage if you don't got Firaga, just remember to doubleflight before using anything.

The special ones, as in R&R Seal, Kab Cannon and Frootz Cat, stat off at Star rank and give amazing abilities for little price at the start.
R&R Seal can give you the cheapness that is Baloonga, as well as 5x HP Boost.
Kab Cannon is the only source for Dark Firaga, which IMO, is the best damaging Magic for bosses after Firaga Burst, and he also gives plenty of resistances and Salvation. You also can purposelly kill it and rescan endlessly to get Bright Fantasies, which are otherwise only obtainable randomly from special portals at the last world.
And lastly, Frootz Kat gives Attack and Magic Haste x5 as well as ANOTHER Salvation, Reload Boost and Triple Plasma.

Sudo Neku, Meowjesty and Ursa Circus aren't really amazing compared to those 3, but they still give some nifty abilities.
