Taralynn's heart skipped with excitement; she had not expected Jack to say yes at all, and now she had to quickly think of a place they could go and talk. Would the Slytherin common room be too crowded and loud to talk right now? The Great Hall had a decent amount of people in it as well, but Taralynn didn't think Jack would want to be in such an open place if they were indeed going to share secrets.

"How about the common room?" she asked. "I'm sure we can find somewhere to sit in there."

Iris stood from the table as well and went to stand close to her sister. She was very intrigued as to what Elysia was talking so excitedly about, but didn't necessarily want to show it. She waited for the group to start moving so the discovery could be shared.

Aveline nodded to her head slowly to Sephiroth's harsh statements. I'm the student now, she thought determinedly. I've got to get into that mindset; he's not going to be the type of teacher I'm used to; this is how things will be, and I'm willing to listen to anything he says, no matter what.

"Yes, of course," she answered after a moment, her mind already racing with which weapon she wanted to choose to keep. "I just-"

"And you do realize that both of us will be watched," he interrupted, his cool eyes on the floor, looking at nothing in particular. "We'd probably be watched right now if it wasn't for the fact that this is one of Shinra's designated First Class SOLDIER safe houses; the Turks rarely watch or keep up with surveillance of them. In the future, though, it will not be this way."

"Then when will I see you ag-"

"We will both arrive at the training rooms tomorrow morning. I will arrive later than you. Train on your own for at least an hour and I will find you," Sephiroth cut in again. "If you arrive with more than one choice weapon I won't speak to you or help you."

Aveline shifted uncomfortably, testing several of her wounds. The potions were helping, yes, and another before she fell asleep would mprove her mobility even more, but practicing combat immediately in the morning... with Sephiroth himself? She didn't know if she could manage that.

Hey there, Twilightblader. Your OC is alright, but there are a few changes that need to be made in order for Garxena to approve it completely and for you to start posting:

    1. Someone (regardless of their race) would NOT be able to recover from any automail attachment in just a "couple of months," especially BOTH of their arms. Remember how Edward was barely able to go through the feat of recovering from an arm and a leg being put on in a full year? That in itself is a lot to go through, so you'll need to change that bit of your character to the usual required automail recovery period: 2 years. Considering that you have your character around 13 when his automail is attached and his current age is 20, this isn't a big change in his actual development.

    2. A foreigner (let alone an Ishvalan) would NOT be allowed to serve in the royal guard of Xing. The Xingese people considered it an honor to serve the princes and princesses of the royal family, something that was passed down through their own family lines for generations. They would not let an outsider, especially a foreigner, into this position.

However! There are two options to fixing this issues: You can change the nationality of your character to Xingese, that way having him in the royal guard of one of the princes of the country would be believable. OR... you can keep him an Ishvalan, but not a member of the guard protecting Ling. He could still have gone to Xing, trained under a master, and learned the arts, but as an Ishvalan foreigner, he couldn't occupy this position.

I'm relaying this information from Garxena directly because she isn't able to be online at the moment. You can submit your changes here on the OCC thread in another character form, or just PM the modifications to Garxena herself in order to get your character approved.

    Thanks!

Taralynn let out a small chuckle, but she could tell that Jack wasn't that interested in her right now. What if I go try out the spell right now? she thought illogically. I've got to do something; I'm tired of waiting around like all these stupid kids, as if I'm just as normal as them. I'm better... Jack's better. This whole place will be better once it's set the way it should be. But first... everyone that's in our way has to be gotten rid of. But... she stopped herself from thinking any further; Taralynn was desperate for approval, but she was not stupid. I have to wait... till it's dark and everyone's in their dorms.

With everything that was twittering around madly in her head right now, she wanted to write in her diary; her fingers automatically went to her book bag and rested on the spine of the little journal, but now was not the time or place to clear her thoughts. She'd have to wait till later.

"What about we play a game?" Taralynn asked suddenly, getting an idea. "We can find somewhere to sit down and tell each other secrets! To be fair, I'll go first, and then it's your turn. What do you say?" Jack always told her so little about his plans, let alone himself, that she was always curious. Maybe this time he'd play along.

Iris jumped a little when her sister arrived, yet she couldn't help but return Elysia's grin; it was extremely contagious. She wished she could be as energetic as her, but Iris seemed to think completely differently; like right now, her eyes quickly scanned the tables nearest them in the Great Hall, going over the other students that were close by.

If it's family business, something secret that Elysia wants to talk about and show us so desperately, she began in her head, no one else better be paying attention or following us.

"Lower your voice if it's so incredible," Iris whispered, slightly paranoid.

Taralynn stayed close behind Jack as they left their last class together. It was so crowded now that all the students were making their way to wherever they wanted to go with what was left of their day. She saw Jack give the ghost a dirty look and had to swallow a grin; Just wait till tonight. Everything's going to change...

"So," she began in Jack's moody silence, "what did you want to do now? Till later, I mean?"

Iris was jolted awake by the sudden, chattering, eye-grinding sounds of all the students exiting their last classes. Since her last period was free, she had been up in the Gryffindor common room, curled up on a big, fluffy armchair, napping. Her book bag was tucked under her elbow where she'd left it, and Iris grimaced when she shifted her arm, the muscles bent in a sore position from sleeping.

I had the oddest dream, she thought, sitting up and stretching. Iris yawned and pulled her compact mirror out of her bag, staring at her sleepy reflection. She wanted to cry when she looked at herself; under-confidence was her main problem, but it wasn't her appearance that bothered her, it was her brains. Her brothers and sister were so much smarter than her; she was the one that brought down the family name with her crappy grades. She shook her head, smoothing down her black hair.

My dream, she thought again. I don't understand it... maybe if I tell Elysia about it...

Iris nodded to herself in her mirror before putting it back in her bag. She stood, stretched, and headed out of the common room to the Great Hall. When she got there, she didn't spot Elysia, but did see Lulu sitting at the Ravenclaw table alone. She made her way over to him, tapping him on the shoulder from behind tentatively; he was bent over his books, intently studying, and she didn't want to startle him.

I think that starting when Ed is already the Fullmetal Alchemist would be good; that's how Brotherhood began and it really made the story start in a more interesting part and made things move along faster. If we need to go back to anything before that point, flashbacks are always possible with some coordination ^.^ But yes... that's my opinion on the subject. I can't wait till Webhead does come back so we can start! :D

“You realize I didn’t just learn everything,†he began quietly. “There’s more to it than that. One thing is certain, though; you will never make the same mistakes you did tonight again. Do you understand?â€

Aveline’s heart skipped a beat, and she cocked her head to the side, as if she didn’t understand what he’d just said. “You…†she began slowly, “you’re going to help me, then? I know SOLDIER members are assigned Mentors, but I’m not asking for official tr-â€

“Your weapons are a problem,†Sephiroth cut in, reaching inside his coat to pull out several potion bottles. He threw them casually at Aveline, who caught them clumsily with her bandaged hand. “You have too many blades, all over the place and in different sizes; it’s sloppy, immature, like you can’t make up your mind what you want. I can understand you being an exception to the rule of having a customized weapon before reaching first clas, but all your daggers are ridiculous.â€

    Claire
    [IMG]

"You-" Claire began, amazed that he'd said exactly what was in her head. Are we that similar? she thought suddenly. We can't be that in sync already...

She sighed, though, and paid attention to the next song that played softly in her ear, usually one that made her cry. The way things were right now, the cool blankets underneath her, Jaden's warm body next to her made her want to smile. Her father had first introduced this band to her, made her appreciate something that wasn't so mainstream.

The whole album is a story, Claire remembered him saying. It was one of the few times that he'd reached out and tried to talk to her, to be normal enough that she would hopefully accept and understand what he considered a proper moment. Remembering it now made her sad again: she hadn't replied to his outreach, nor had she even spoken to him. I just sat there and stared at the CD he'd handed me, a blank, melancholy look on my face, no reply or "thank you" or anything. I wanted to... I really did, but I couldn't. It was so much easier to just ignore him and let it go. She hadn't even wanted to listen to the damn thing at first but she did it anyway, and... surprisingly, she understood what her father was talking about.

Each song, in succession, told the story of two lovers: going from not being together, to figuring things out, to getting upset, to making things even better again... to an ending that could be taken either way: do they end up together? It's up to me, depending on how I look at it. This song, the eighth track, usually made her bawl like a child, but... now, she felt her lips rise in a small smile, and she shut her eyes.

Claire nodded against Jaden's chest, enjoying the way his soft shirt felt on her cheek, feeling the sleepy side-effect of her medication starting to bother her. "Yeah," she murmured, surprised how calm and soft her voice was; it didn't sound like her, but she didn't mind right now. "Thank you..."

Sephiroth gave her a small nod, as if patting a child on the head after it solved a simple math problem; in short the praise was not worthy of the deed.

Aveline didn’t know what to say; she’d thought that this was the truth, had even come close to admitting it or confronting her father with it, but she never had the guts. Hearing this man say it to her so easily, and admitting it aloud to herself was more than she could take. Tears kept falling down her cheeks, burning her bruised, scraped skin. I was given what I am not by my skill, but to keep me quiet and happy: let the useless girl of the family have third class and keep her there with no assignments, no hope of moving forward, for the rest of her life.

“I’m going to say this,†Aveline began, her eyes still on the floor, her vision nothing but white and grey blurry circles. “And I don’t know if it makes a difference, but here goes… I’ve got what it takes; I can be as strong as every other first class SOLDIER because I want to be; you can train me day and night, have them inject me with whatever they want, beat me and torture me till I’m perfect, I don’t care. That’s what I want to be, more than anything, and… I’m happy to die doing it. It’s my father and Drey that are at fault for all this, for treating me like nothing but trash my entire life; I’ve had enough. I want to see the looks on their faces when I’m strong enough to kill them both.â€

Sephiroth held her gaze as she spoke, listening intently; the girl seemed sincere enough, and he did believe her, but… the more he looked at her, he found himself getting an old feeling in his head, like a migraine that was coming on, but not quite in full effect. A memory, he thought suddenly, though his face held the same expressionless look. It was something he rarely ever felt, and… this time… it was a dull picture in his mind that flashed on and off, flickering in different shades of red and grey and sickly green… A lab, dully lit with test tubes and cords everywhere… and… a girl? He looked away from Aveline, down at the floor, closing his eyes, trying to focus on collecting the memory more clearly. A young girl, with white-blonde hair and pale skin, crying, screaming… she looks familiar… did I know her? “Know…†Yes. He frowned at the next image he remembered: She died in this lab… wherever it was, whenever it was. Did I care? Do I care? I don’t know. He opened his eyes and looked up… and made the connection: Aveline looks like her; that girl... who was she? Where was she? He didn’t know, but, if it was part of a key to his past, he was going to find out.

Claire froze, every muscle in her body tense, her tears even stopping; she wasn't sure what to do. Everything Jaden had said was foreign to her; no one had ever spoken about themselves to her, nor had anyone told her such kind words. It brought fresh tears to her eyes for some reason, because... she felt completely undeserving of his attention, let alone his affection. He has to have a reason, she thought, thoroughly confused. Everyone has to have a good reason to put themselves out there and say "you can rely on me" and "I'll do whatever I can to make you happy." That's just not something someone casually puts out to another person, especially a stranger. Or maybe they could; she didn't know. She couldn't understand it at all... but...

But... his embrace was warm, his touch comforting; another bunch of emotions she'd never felt and could now hardly understand. She didn't pull away, nor, when she thought about it, did she want to. Is this what normal people do? she thought suddenly. Just... sit, without words or actions or empty reassurances? Is this was helps people? Just silently knowing that, despite everything, you have someone else to just hold you and make sure you're alright? Why hasn't anyone done this for me before? I... I'm not even crying anymore.

Through everything she was feeling (her inexplicable sadness and tears, her confusion about her new husband, her betrayal by her family, her loneliness and isolation from any outside help) only one thought seemed to make sense. Claire focused on that, even though she was doubting it herself, even though she didn't see how she could come to this conclusion, but... she held onto the thought as she leaned into Jaden, wrapping one of her own, shaking arms around him:

This is where I'm supposed to be.

All RPs are the same as far as grammar is concerned; it's very simple to spell and make complete sentences. It has nothing to do with "This kind of RP."

Leonhardt sat upon one of the stools of a resident bar within Sector 6. The drink was pretty much horrible, but he couldn't expect the Slums to have the best drinks in the town., especially in the Slums, He just decided to come here by his own choice; Wall Market was as busy as always. until He rubbed his hair messily. If his family could see him now working with the terrorist group AVALANCHE that hated Shinra's ideals, including building those Mako Reactors to drain the Planet of it's lifesource... (INCOMPLETE SENTENCE)

"What a eye-opener huh, but everyone else just lives their lives out as normal here." he thought solemnly; his dream of being a SOLDIER was pretty much denied by the fact there was no demand for new employees or recruits but with all honesty, Leonhardt at least wanted the chance to meet a First Class. "Low chances of that happening, guess I just have to take things as they come." Leo thought, and pushed away the empty glass he had in front of him. Not many people questioned his intentions or his sword that remained sheathed on his hip. (NO QUOTATION MARKS AROUND THOUGHTS; THEY ARE NOT BEING SAID)

    Protecter212:

I don't know if you've ever been in one of Garxena's RPs before, but one rule you cannot break is grammar. I edited your post the way it should have been written. Please follow RULE #3 in all future posts. I'm sure you've gone through enough school in your life to know how to make complete sentences, use punctuation well, and have respect for those in charge.

As you know, by having your character accepted and making your first post, you have agreed to follow the RP rules; if you do not, you cannot play. It is that simple. Thanks.
