Looking for work. Currently waiting to see if I got a job at one place.

We were never in any danger since we're in town, but we've been dealing with several wildfires in our state (and note that this is the third summer in a row we've had wildfires, so I think we've become California, haha) -- there were, I would say, at least five in our county alone, though they were able to be quickly contained. This latest one that got contained burned a few structures, including homes, but nothing too bad overall for all of the wildfires we've had in our county this summer so far.

However, there's a wildfire near Wenatchee, which is about an hour and a half away from us, that's been burning for a little over a week. Cooler weather (it was over 100 degrees for a few days about a week or so ago) and rain has helped make a lot of progress on containing it, and it is now over 50% contained.

It's caused a lot of damage, though. As of today, 153 homes have been destroyed and 250,136 acres (390 square miles) have been burned. It's one of the largest wildfires in our state to be recorded in history.

Geez... I hope you're okay. D: I'm glad the fire didn't hit you. I have three friends in Seattle I worried about myself.

Yeah, we're fine. We were never in any danger since we live in the city, like I said. In fact, none of the wildfires in our county were even close to the city. They were all out in the country. :)

I don't think wildfire danger is really high in Seattle (it's more earthquake danger there) since there's not really any sagebrush, which is what really burns fast.

    Seattle's only a two-hour drive from here.

I still remember that earthquake that happened there when I was a kid and caused roads to crack and caused some damage to buildings in the main part of Seattle.

Wow... My state had an earthquake about two years ago. I think a 2.2.

Wow... That's pretty bad. All we did was feel it. lolz... My state never gets earthquakes so even a small one you would really feel.

    Same.

I was in school in the third grade when it happened, and we felt the room moving from shock waves, but nothing too bad.

Regarding the bad wildfire, further investigations, now that the firefighters and other emergency personnel are able to get into areas that were burned, confirms that about 300 homes were destroyed, double from what I mentioned yesterday.
