Maybe you could use some of your materials to synthesize the next rank.
Like x number of shards to make a stone.
x number of stones to make a gem
    etc.

This would give you something to do with your leftover materials, as well as help obtain more expensive pins. Like for example, there are 4 pins requiring a shard, yet 6 shards. Even if you purchase all of them, you still have left over shards.

That is a great idea. In theory. Because the same thing is possible but vice-versa.

Here's the problem. When I opened pin shop, I thought it would be easier keeping track of people and materials? But it's not. It takes a lot to verify which person used which, ect.

As such, I'm going to have to keep it as simple as possible. Because it's easier for me and for other staffies to award a pin which costs a shard, without looking at special things? For example, I know the Bulky Medal costs a Shard, I can simply list you up for a shard.

But if you use two shards to buy another a pin that costs something else, it just makes it really hard to keep track of.

I WILL keep your suggestion in mind, but right now I'm still trying to make it work properly and basically finding out how to make it practical to work with.

But even if you have shards left over, there will come more shard type pins in the future? So there's that! lol.

I'm sure and thank you so much for offering and presenting the idea! But only Super Mods and up can work with pins (because we can enter the control panel to manage them)

At the moment, the pin shop is only beginning. There's a LOT more in store~

I meant more in the way of keeping track of materials.
I'm good with that sort of thing.
