    I have no ideas. :/
What's the actual issue? A virus?
Unless I have some more details... I dunno what I can suggest other than backing up any data you want while in safe mode and then wiping your laptop and starting from scratch.

Viruses mess with your laptop while it's on. What's happening is that it freezes when I try to do anything once it's on the desktop. It's very much like the issue Nick had, but while I can sort it by trial-and-error disabling things on System Configuration, I don't know what anything is, and don't want to mess things up further.

Ah. I had a similar issue myself.
It's actually sorta like a virus but isn't. I believe it's more Malware based.
I had to go into safe mode and manually find the infected file to delete it... but that was a long time ago and I no longer no how to fix it.

The most I can suggest is to try downloading some programmes such as Malwarebytes (just google it) and to run it while in safe mode of course.
Otherwise, you may have to consider taking it to a PC shop and explaining the issue. They should know the files to take care of anyway. :/

I wish I could be more help... but at the time when I had my own issue, I had a friend (a fricking genius with comps at that/like he can fix any issue) help me out personally, but I haven't been in contact with him in ages. :/

I have malware bytes, and did try it. I guess I'll try it again. The issue with that is that it's really godawfully slow, and sometimes freezes.
