I think that first pop up ghost at the door in fatal frame puts the players on edge the whole rest of the games. :)

Same. At least we have the movie to look forward to.

Perhaps. I'm also drawing a bit on Inception, in that a member of the occult subconsciously tries influencing Trent with images and stories of their God, so that he can be controlled, his psychic powers used to conjure a new deity to bring about Paradise. Maybe. Its just an idea still.

I've gotten one of my friends really interested in a possible project for a spiritual successor to Silent Hill. He's a student at DeVry, and he's got Unreal Engine with knowledge of coding. The hard part (besides coding, obviously) will be coming up with an original plot that doesn't contradict any of the original games' plots, and takes the series in a new direction that would work. I had the idea of making my male nurse character have dormant psychic abilities, akin to Alessa, so that the occult (not "the Order") will pursue him and try dragging him into the town to do their will. Whatcha think?

Too bad I have no experience at all in making games, nor am I that good a writer. The most I could do really is keep the story accurate, and do character and monster design, if even that.

Yup. A man can dream...or make a fan-made game which could gain the attention of Konami and receive a high-budget remake :D

And I'll be the creative director and it'll have relevant monsters and a story without plot-holes and intellectual puzzles and inspired locations and interesting characters :>

I have no hopes for Book of Memories though, unlike I did for the HD Colection. I had no hope once I learned that it would be a multi-player dungeon crawler with absolutely no relevance to the series.

Hopefully they'll get smart and not release it at all.

Oh, in all honesty I don't really know much about the game (don't want to for that matter).

I hope someday, some team will finally bring the series back to the glory days. Til then, the series is over for me, and has been over since 4.

They pretty much slapped the name "Silent Hill" on a dungeon crawler. Its pathetic, and a spit in the face of Silent Hill fans.

Oh God...I'm remembering the travesty that will be "Book of Memories"....stop raping the series Konami

And also, I find that, a lot of the allure of the Silent Hill games is that they force a player to enter the nightmare. You don't move forward unless you make the character do so. A movie pretty much does it for you. Different experiences have to be done in different styles.

Thats the difficulty of making a Silent Hill movie though. The reason the games are so creepy is the constant isolation. More than half the game, you're alone...besides the monsters. That's hard to keep interesting in a movie with no interaction. Also, quote a lot of the plot for Silent Hill is found from reading memos, not something that'll translate well into a film either.

I just hope it doesn't screw around so much with the plot like the first movie did (as much as I enjoyed that one.)

Gaaaaah, I'm getting even more ideas on a new, original Silent Hill story that wouldn't contradict the original 4 games, and would present a new view of the universe.

16 years of working with Konami, I can't blame him for wanting to try something new. The latest game I know of him working on is "Shadows of the Damned." Mainly rock stuff.

Im a open minded person. I can play and watch anything that gets my interest. I love anime, manga, video games, and writing but due to recent events I decided to call it quits by putting a stop to them all which means I wont do anything anime, manga, or video game related things with the exception of Fatal Frame that will be the only thing that will survive after I sell everything. I was inspired by JesuOtaku to make reviews but unfortunately I haven't made such reviews on video yet but I have written some reviews on GameFAQs.
