The Orphanage

"No!" the boy yelled, extending his arm toward the crowd of guards. A wall of lightning shot out, reaching out in attack toward the guards as electricity ambushed them from the ground.
"We're not useless! Damnit, we're not!!"

"We're not..." Elevir muttered under her breath, drawing the knife from her poket, still stained with blood. She kept her wings hidden, but jumped over Larz to defend him.
"Don't even try!" she yelled, and the guards seemed to struggle a little as they moved closer.
I'm getting better at that... she thought.

 

Larz's eyes fluttered. all of this excitement weakened the drug's effect on him. looking to his left he saw the back of someone, someone he knew, but couldn't remember her name.

 

Just then some of the guards started to get headaches some of them struggling to move their bodies

 

Elevir looked around at the crowd of guards. What was wrong with them? Was there another Reader working to stop the onslaught? She didn't have much time to think about it, however. The two assigned to take Larz were drawing closer.

"You must really want to die," she spoke, aware that she was the one with lower chances of getting out alive.

 

Rek growled and launched a volley of fireballs at the guards, and a few Christina's way as well. "You will not take Larz!" OOC: Wasn't Christina ordered to get Rek as well?

 

ooc: she was to interrogate you.

 

After a few more steps, Reiji stopped and leaned against the wall. He didn't want to be locked up again. He sank lower on the wall, he couldn't think. His rescuers, his escape, and that girl, none of it he could remember. He remembers the door being opened and then nothing.

Huff... huff... the storm ended, leaving Famous exhausted. He could barely stand up... everything seemed like a blur.

'Famous!' he heard someone yell, and felt himself zoom to the side.
He also felt a bullet zoom pass his head. Looking back to where the voice (that still seemed to echo in his head) came from, he saw a dark-haired girl fighting off a couple of guards. He channeled electricity to the guards through the ground until they couldn't stand.

"Thank you!" he yelled to the girl.

Elevir nodded a quick 'no problem' to the boy, turning back towards Larz. She had a headache from using her Gift so intensely.

"Larz," she said, shaking the man gently, "Larz, you have to get up."

 

weakly, he began to crawl. The pain and loss of blood had sapped him of his strength. He made his way to the door slowly. He was pathetic, Like a new born babe.

 

Rek grinned wildly as he set the guards on fire. He thought their gear may protect them, but there's nothin equal to the fear that overcomes you when you're on fire. He turned to Christina as the guards burned. "What have you come here for? Besides to take larz?"

 

A sound awoke Reiji from his empty thoughts. Guards He began to run down random halls, he knew he couldn't fight beacuse he had nothing to draw with.

 

Aly called herself twenty different kinds of stupid. Of course there were gifted guards. She knew it as well s Eva had, but they had been stupid, and captured. She winced at the blade touching her neck, looking helplessly at eva.

 

Legend winced internally. How had the melodic guards known that she'd frozen time at that specific moment?

Concentrating on the prisoners around her, she began to sing again, almost silently.

"He's a stranger to some, and a vision to none;
he can never get enough, get enough of the one.
For a fortune he'd quit, but it's hard to admit
how it ends and begins.
On his face is a map of the world.... A map of the world."

Now, they were with the rest of the gifts, in the interrogation room, as they had been before. However, now, some gifts were fighting, as there were guards everywhere. Looking around, Legend took a sword from a downed guard and jumped into the fray near her brother.

"Larz, wait... where are you going?" Elevir asked calmly, fighting off guards as the manic approached them. It was a hassle protecting Larz, but Elevir owed it to him...

BIC: Aly used the moment that Legend had to elbow the guard. Taking his dagger, she coldly stabbed him, then freed Eva. "Fight or Flee?" she asked, grinning. Eva gave her a sideways look, then grinned the same way. "Fight." they said together. Eva lifted up Aly and threw her into a guard, then shifted into a panther and tackled another.

 

Larz attempted to get up. His arms buckled and shivered as he tried to stand up. The pain, the pain hurt so much. Why did she give him hurt? He was only doing what was fun. Again, Larz collapsed and hit his head on the cold, hard floor of the interrogation room. What was she called? what was her....thing, that thing you are called by. Eye floating upwards in its socket, Larz looked up at the girl who gave him hurt, who was making bad sound. She was like the others, but not like the others. She was...interesting.

 

Christina smiled, hearing Rek's voice but staying still and silent. She thought to herself. Was there anything more that she had come to do? A scowl crossed her beautiful features and her eyes narrowed. No. She had really only come to fulfill orders. Orders. Always orders. She walked further away.

 

Rek watched as Christina walked away, then went over to one of the writhing guards, taking the guard's knife. He began to slit their throats, quickly and efficiently, leaving them on the ground. There was no blood due to the flames cauterizing the wounds, but the guards had no air supply now.

 

Most of the guard suddenly started to attack each other. Each of them trying to control their body but failed

Seth weakly walked up to the others using the wall to balance. He looked extreamly tired

 

The guards.... Elevir thought, looking around. It was as though the Gifts weren't even there... the guards held a war within themselves. What's happening to them?
Her eyes wandered back to Larz, who had collapsed on the floor a second time. However, she couldn't see him. Something was in the way... wait, no. Nothing's there....
The grip around her knife loosened absentmindedly, and it clattered against the bloodstained floor.

Her hand reached to her neck shakily, her eyes wide, but not staring at anything. What's going on? Was I shot? No... no, I would be bleeding... I would be dead if I was shot... Am I?
She didn't know what it felt like to be shot... but she imagined if she were shot in the neck, it would feel like she did at that moment. Her back, and her wings hit against the wall, though she didn't even know she'd been stumbling backwards, and she didn't even know her wings were there. What's going on?
"Make it stop..." she said, sinking to the floor. Her eyes closed, and her lip bled from being bit down on.
"Make it stop..." she repeated, and the few guards remaining stopped fighting. The pain softened a bit, but she still remained in a heap on the floor when they noticed her there, not guarding Larz, and vulnerable to attack.

Legend had backed away from the guards fighting amongst themselves when they regained their focus.
However, the few that were left only aimed their weapons at the manic and his... well, it seemed former protector.
They're only attacking the weak... the girl thought, the easy targets.
She rushed in to attack, but didn't get far. One of the group of guards, which then appeared much larger, took out a handgun and shot at her, rendering her left and dominant arm useless while ripping a scream from her throat. The stolen sword clattered against the floor while her other hand fled to the wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding and the pain.

"No!" Famous yelled, seeing his sister shot. Almost instinctively, he began to run towards her, but had only taken a step when the guard's gun was pointed at him next.
"Move a muscle," the guard spoke, "and the two of you are dead."

What choice did he have? He didn't have enough energy left to kill the guards with electricity... Any action he took would only result in....
No, I can't even think of it...

 

Aly rolled her eyes. "Humans and their drama." She stabbed the guard holding the gun to Famous' head from behind, then jerked her head. "Go get her. Eva and I got this for that long, at least."

Eva growled, then launched herself at a guy behind Aly, tearing out his throat. She snapped at another, almost taking his hand, then launched herself at him, taking him down.

"No fair, Eva! I was helping someone!" she protested, running after her sister to slash at another guard. "Let's steal some guns, shall we?"
