What are your most noticeable moments/mistakes in games that made you stop playing a game that you thought was amazing before? I post this after recently quitting civilization because of naval battles based entirely on luck, (Today I attacked a Galley with my cruiser and lost) and the fact that it doesn't give alerts when enemies land in your territory from sea. Not to mention giving an enemy civilization like 10 techs and declaring war on me when I don't want to give up Superconductor, when they have the nuke. Plus Angor Wat always giving me the pyramid when I'm the Greeks and already have the best tech/wealth government, which I always use. That shitpile made me say fuck this game. And I loved this game.
Assassin's Creed. When I wasn't killing people and how it took forever and a year to get ANYWHERE, and that was just riding on a horse.
Strangely enough, Digimon World 1 on the PS!, when you get to a certain point, you find this digimon and you have to leave this place at the exact right time, but I was like 5 seconds too slow. Annoyed me soo much. It also gets really hard after a while.
call of duty 4 whenever i play with a certain friend i always end up kill stealing his meant to be 7th kill to get a heli i stopped playing it when there was a person in last stand so i shot him with my sniper and hear over the microphone "OMG you stupid little noob you stole my kill again and i needed that for a helicopter" the following day i was beaten up in school :\ i dont really play much cod4 now some people can be just so stupid and take a game so seriously
Call of Duty 4 aswell, however it's because I find myself in the matches which have people cheating in them. I stopped playing around February and I'm now waiting for Modern Warfare 2. Also Final Fantasy VIII. I was switching to the fourth disk when it said that it wouldn't work. I didn't play the game for a month before playing it again from the beggining, all that hard work lost.
Socom 3. This was probably the most amazing ps2 online game, I used to play it everyday. But as many people began moving on to games like Call of Duty (which I also did eventually), the cheaters on Socom came to the point where there were at least one in every room. I don't mean like lag switch cheaters either, I mean "can boot/freeze the room" and "have machine gun sniper rifles" kind of cheaters. Coders had to ruin a fun game. I don't think I've played my ps2 since.
The frame rate of Shadow of the Colossus, i mean it was never bad to have me turn off the game but it was really the only flaw of the game and for Kingdom hearts is the camera placement is horrible and how you move it by the R1 and L1
The Simpsons Wrestling on my old PS1. Seriously, by the time I got to fighting Smither & Burns, I felt invincible with Willie. Then I find out that while I'm busy beating the crap out of Smithers, Burns throws in plutoniom bombs to stop my beatings. Great. Then when I'm getting my Ass kicked by Smithers, he throws them in to be an ass. I played this level for 5 hours before I managed to beat them (across two days), and then I find out that I DON'T EVEN UNLOCK THE *******S AFTER I BEAT THEM!! Even though I won, I stopped playing for while. I knew there'd be something harder along the way...
It was sort of like this for me, except that I realized I was just watching a movie but I held down the X button and moved the thumbstick around for 10 hours. Waste-of-time.
