Death Note

Near laid Rhyme on her bed.
Rhyme smiled and hugged a pillow. "Beat...." She mumbled.

 

"That doesn't mean you can lick me!" She was as red as she could go.

"Don't waste food" He said "And you seem yo be enjoying it"

Toshiko paused then flopped next to him on the sofa and let him eat the honey.

 

Near watched her for a bit then left again. Coming back to L's floor, he sat on the sofa and started reading the list again. He started highlighting names.

 

"Near?, what kind of people are you highlighting?"She asked.

 

"I'm highlighting the ones that have high skills at maths, english, geography and media." Near replied. "Might not get us too far but I've highlighted 6 from each country on teh lists. From there, were ever Kira is, I want speical people to trail these 6 people."

 

"Don't you think we should at least wait until we've figured out where Kira is before we start tailing people? Otherwise we're just wasting time"

 

"Thats what I said. WHEN we find out where Kira is, I want handpicked people to tail these people in that country." Near said.

 

"Oh, I thought you were just gonna randomly tail the people you just highlighted" She laid back. "My mistake"

 

Near nodded. "Your bad." He looked back at the pages and suddenly stopped, staring at one name for England.

 

Ryuzaki looked up. "what is it?"

 

"Daisukenojo Bito." Near frowned slightly, looking at the name.

 

"what about him?" Toshiko asked.

 

"I didn't see his name being on the list...." Near took out a different colour highlighter and highlighted his name. He then carried on flicking through the list again.

"What?, did you think he was too stupid or something?"

 

"Negative. I didn't think he would be that smart." Near replied bluntly.

 

"Well 'assume' makes an 'ass' outta you and 'me'" she smiled.

Ryuzaki stared at her. "Less of the language please"

 

"Assume never came into that sentence." Near said. "But as a child, I must say that-"
"YOU SHOULD GO FORTH AND MULITPLY!" A voice shouted. Rhyme stormed into the room, glaring at Near.
"Yes?"
"Why did you do that?"
"But you to bed?"
"You could have woken me back up!"

 

"We needed to talk seriously without being distracted by ridiculous hair bobbles, speaking of which, Matsuda-San, take them out"

"Huh?, oh yeah" Matsuda fumbled around trying to remove the bobbles.

 

Rhyme sat next to Near, her arms folded, frowning.
Near watched her.

 

Ryuzaki picked up a mars bar and offered it to Rhyme. "Eat this, we need happy people on the force, not grumpy, brooding ones"
