The Rurouni Kenshin shows were the only anime shows I could ever stand. It's not on T.V. anymore, but I'm pretty sure you can find episodes online of some sort. It's worth it.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. You'll love those if you liked Lucky Star.

Under SCI-FI: - Toward the Terra - Planetes - It's not on the list, but PLEASE watch Infinite Ryvius! Please! One of the most amazing shows I've ever seen! Under SLICE OF LIFE: - I don't see anything very appealing. Watch K-ON xD. Under SUPER ROBOTS: - Gurren Lagann Under ROMANCE: - His and Her Circumstances - Honey and Clover - Clannad (Also, Clannad After Story) Under SLAPSTICK/COMEDY: - All of those look decent IMO.
