We actually have more than 5 senses, closer to about 21 lol But anyway, following the law of entropy all systems increase in chaos (or disorder) over time. This means that things break but don't spontaneously repair, actions waste energy and memories and knowledge is forgotten. This means that a mind (or any storage device for that matter) cannot hold a piece of information forever. Electronical storage devices degrade over time, they can't even hold information forever.

Also, as our brains are organic and by computing terms rather crude, I don't see us having limitless potential. The main candidate for this is quantum computing, coupled with molecular computing and the utilisation of light. This being where each and every molecule in the computer is used to carry out the calculations, but can exist in several states at the same time. This means that each molecule can carry out calculations in parallel. There is also much research into replaces cables and wires in computers with light conduits. These have very little data loss and are much faster.

I put more stock into electronic computers rather than the human mind for unlimited potential. But I am certain as to which one is better so to speak. The human mind will never be beaten on adaptability (something which computers are extremely poor at), ingenuity, evolution and the ability to think outside the box.

Reading this again makes me feel like I havn't answered it properly lol But I ain't changing it now ;D

    A Patriot

I honestly think that patriotism is wrong. As is any blind belief in something. People need to remember to think before they act and before they pledge their lives towards something. Don't get me wrong, I think that being proud of the country in which you live, but that country has to earn your respect. I think that being indoctrinated into thinking that your country is the greatest country in the world at a young age is dangerous and unhealthy at best. It is used by government to control the people by making them think that they are infallible.

However, I do think that it is important to be proud of your country if you think you should be. If people aren't then there could be dangerous levels of anarchy lol

On to the point as to whether a patriot should be for the country or its people. Always the people. A country is nothing without its people, in fact it wouldn't exist without any people. A patriot should do what he/she thinks is right for the people of the county, not the country (i.e. the government in most cases). Unfortunately, these two sides don't always have the same goals.

There was a news item in the UK about a mother who was putting a bunch of grapes in her childs lunch box. Then she saw the Black Widow spider on them >_>

It happens all the time, insects can survive on boats and planes across the ocean.

I always say that a group of people (whether it be by religion or music or whatever) is defined by the worst members of their group. If the other members of the group which are tired of being criticized for things that these supposed "black sheep" have done then they have to take active steps to purge these members from their group.

This being why I still have a strong dislike for both Islam and Christianity. No-one in either group seems to do anything to stop these things happening, and apathy is as bad a commiting the acts yourself.

A myth is a story which is not based on any sort of fact. A legend is a story which was originally based on fact but has been distorted by time.

In my mind, all religions are myths. Mostly anyway. The only thing making the stories of Christianity not a myth is the large number of people who believe it all to be complete and utter fact, no matter how much the evidence contradicts.

I hope everyone realises that even when you do come of voting age, the tiny bit of control you have makes little difference in the long run >_> Your vote cannot force politicians to do things, all it does is gently nudge it in the direction you want it to go (and even then this can backfire). As I've always said, the form of democracy that currently exists in the world gives its citizens the illusion of control.

Anyway, back to the main point. I think that it is vital for what is effectively the next generation (and therefore the next wave of leaders) to be as informed as possible about all that is going on in the world, whether it directly affects them or not. Otherwise, how can we be expected to rule over ourselves and the next generation?

I see the Bible and most other religious texts (as there is a great number of them) as important literary works, but little beyond that.

It is not that people feel the need to worship, it is that people naturally want to fill gaps. Gaps in knowledge or gaps in their very being. Some of these being "Why am I here?", "Why do certain things happen?" and "What is the point of it all?". Some choice to take the (in my opinion) easy option and say that there is a higher power or powers that control everything and decide on humanity's ultimate fate. Others choice logic, reason and ultimately science to answer the same questions.

Both methods seek truth, as through truth we are freed.

I presume such an option would not be retrospective and would be like "wiping the slate clean"?

I am pretty neutral on this one, although it could make the forum less casual. As in, making people feel as if they have to work hard to be part of the forum, when really we are here to talk about a series of games =/ (and of course there is the forum community to worry about).

At many points he must have represented the fair majority of Americans, considering he got voted in twice =]

As Douglas Adams once said "Those who most want to lead, are those least suitable for the job"

I also think that he is as ready as he is ever going to be (probably ;D)
