Kaxar found herself standing on a circular plate, almost a mosaic showing different aspects of her memories. There was the day Rufus beat Kara up, the day Kara made the gift for Glen, and finally the day that Glen gave into the darkness. Kaxar also noticed that there were three pedestals, each with a floating object above them; a sword, a shield, and a staff. She wasn't sure why, but she wanted to take one of them. She cautiously approached the shield. In her mind, it was a simple choice, she didn't particularly enjoy fighting, she had little interest in magic, but she wanted to protect people. Maybe the shield would help with that. She found a voice telling her she had to give up one aswell.

She leapt off the pedestal and onto another one; the one with the sword. While she had little interest in magic, to her the sword represented death. She would not be one to deliver death to people. Quickly, the sword began fading until it dissappeared altogether. The pedestal she was standing on, as well as the other pedestals, began sinking into the ground. Slowly they sunk, until eventually all three of them were gone, and only a figure in the center of the mosaic remained. She let out a gasp as she realized who the figure was. At first, the dark coloring of the figure led her to believe it was just an ordinary heartless. Then, the human features made her worry that it was Glen taken over by darkness once more, before finally the details came into fruition as the figure turned around to face her. She was not facing a heartless, she was not facing Glen, she was facing herself; corrupted by the darkness of her own heart.

Caleb opened his eyes, having shut them to stop the darkness from getting into them. He appeared to be standing on a round mosaic of some kind, which was split into three triangular sections; sections that represented his memories. He saw his friend Gaius and him in one, he saw his family in another, and the third showed his most painful memory; an image of his village on fire with bodies everywhere. It was only then that he noticed the three pedestals around himself, each with a weapon on it. He heard a voice telling him to choose one of the weapons. Naturally, he began walking towards the shield. However, he stopped just short of it. "No, knowledge of how to defend against the darkness is nothing without.." he began. He turned to face the pedestal of the sword, and hurried over to it. "Nothing without the strength to defend with" he finished.

He didn't jump on the pedestal, he merely reached out and took the sword. It felt heavy in his hands, as though it had great strength in it, or a great burden associated with it. He then felt the voice say again in his head that to accept the power of the warrior, he had to give up something in return. He turned to look at the one with the staff on it. "While a warrior must be wise, he must not let down his guard so easily" he said, as though he were explaining his decision to the voice. He ran over and gently touched the staff, causing it to fade away until it was gone altogether. It was then that the three pedestals began sinking into the ground quite quickly. Once the sinking had subsided, Caleb noticed that there was a lone figure in the center of the circle.

Caleb cautiously approached the figure. It had human-like features, yet at the same time it had shadow-like tendrils flowing off of it, little wisps of darkness. The body shape and general pose of the figure reminded him of Gexln, the man he had fought at the old mansion. He gasped. Could this be the man that had attacked the town? No, no it couldn't. Kaxar had told him that it was a heartless that had destroyed it, and as dark as Gexln was he certainly wasn't a heartless. "Wh-who are you?" he stammered, trying to find his voice in the moment of tension. The Shadow-Gexln merely held out a hand that held darkness' sorrow. It then let out a noiseless, silent laugh.

Caleb tried to summon his weapons, any of them, but none would come. "What's going on?!" he exclaimed in shock. The Shadow-Gexln lunged forward with the blade, attempting to stab Caleb. Caleb leapt backwards and tried to summon yet another blade, however this time all he succeeded in doing was creating a few sparkles of light before that got snuffed out altogether by the darkness in the air. Once again, Shadow-Gexln laughed at him. "What's so funny? You find killing things funny?" Caleb questioned, clearly angry. Shadow-Gexln began laughing harder, still soundless. Caleb looked at the Dream Sword that lay at his feet. He picked it up. "You want to laugh at something? Then you can laugh at your dead corpse you darkness freak!" he yelled out angrily as he prepared to engage in battle with Shadow-Gexln.

Gexln's attention was caught by the movement of the small stone inside his pocket. Knowing there was little else in that pocket, he was almost certain it was the stone. What would happen now? Would they have to pull out? He didn't want to, he held no obligation to the other darks. Was there a way he could tell R that he'd be fine alone without giving it away to Roe? Maybe there was.

"Agent R, since my Communications Device is going off its nutter, I would assume yours is too. That would mean that HQ needs us back there. Why don't you go and deal with it while I finish up our work here?" he asked. He congratulated himself after saying that; it had sounded far more convincing in his head but hopefully Roe would buy it.

Kaxar wasn't sure whether or not to trust the words of Beuce. Although he seemed to speak them seriously and honestly, could you ever completely trust someone that spoke to voices that weren't actually there? Thinking about it a little more, she realized that what he had said did in fact make sense. Was that enough to gain her trust completely? Not a chance. It was, however, enough to convince her that she was right in trying. Once again, she repeated her words that she had spoken. "I'll do it"

Caleb held little fear for the darkness. He had a firm belief in his willpower and his mental strength, and no amount of 'failing it could kill you' would change that. His resolve to challenge the darkness within himself only strengthened as he saw Kaxar once again agree to try it. The girl didn't seem like she was a natural fighter, and he knew that she had experienced sorrow because of darkness, yet there she was willing to risk her life for the good of others. He had to respect that courage, many of the bravest warriors would not be willing to do the same. He too stepped forward. "She's not the only one, I'll do it too" he proclaimed.

Caleb listened to the explanation. He was unsure whether he wanted to try the technique or not, if he fell then who would protect everyone? In the end, the decision turned out to be rather simple. In his mind, the best way to combat darkness would be to understand it. He already knew of the pain that physical darkness could cause, he now needed to understand the nature of the darkness within the heart. What made it difficult was the fact he was somewhat wound up after hearing that something as simple as a heartless was what he had let slip by him.

His mood only worsened when he heard Louvel's outburst upon hearing about the darkness. Caleb's left arm hung by his side, but he quietly summoned a tomahawk in it. He raced into the tower and ran up towards where Louvel had been heading. He caught the boy, and hurled his tomahawk at Louvel, so that it stuck into the wall near him. "You say you've seen what darkness can do? You have no idea how threatening it is. You know nothing about darkness, how do you expect to fight something you can't even comprehend?" he hissed. "Get back down there, learn this technique, and use it to help your sisters!" Caleb finished. He then turned his back to Louvel. "If you abandon your sisters to the darkness when they need you, then you're no better than the heartless themselves" he added in an extremely serious tone. He began walking down back to where the others were then.

Kaxar let out a small gasp as she saw the weapon Caleb summoned. Did he mean to kill someone? After a moment of panic, she came to a realization. If Caleb had meant to kill them, he could have easily done it earlier when the others had just returned. She breathed a sigh of relief. No, he probably didn't then. She thought of what Eon said. After seeing what had happened to Glen when he had been overrun with darkness, could she really allow them to fill her with darkness? Part of her said no, she couldn't, but part of her knew that if she was to stand any chance whatsoever of returning him to how he once was, she would have to do it. She stepped forward and looked Eon straight in the eyes. "I'll do it" she responded.

The heartless waves seemed unending, every time they took out one heartless another one would just take its place. There's gotta be an end to them..right? Glen thought to himself. He focused his attention on a small group of shadows in front of himself, coming towards him with no organization like the beasts they were. He could probably take them out quickly, but he would risk injury, and there were still a lot of heartless left. No, better to prevent injury where possible so that he could take down Shan-Yu. Reacting quickly, he cast his gravity spell to cause the four heartless to float in the air, followed quickly by hurling his keyblade at them, utilising his Strike Raid ability, as all four of the shadows were destroyed simultaneously.

Glen turned to look at Karina. "You may have been able to handle it alone, but you're too slow. Don't show these scum mercy" he said. Glen then heard a scurrying sound behind him, sounding as though a shadow heartless was behind him. He whirled around and swung his keyblade lightning quick, slashing through three shadow heartless. "They don't deserve any mercy, all they do is prey on the weak" he added coldly. He stepped forward and stabbed his keyblade straight through a heartless, dispatching it quickly as it turned into black vapor.

Glen cursed quietly to himself. They'd been led into a trap, and one filled with heartless at that. Well, not a lot of choice here, we'll have to kill them he thought to himself. Thankfully, he still had his keyblade out from when he had hit the mouse out of the cave. "Screw hitting him into snow, I say we just end him" Glen replied. He was being more grim than usual, possibly because being trapped against a large amount of heartless was exactly the way his father had died. And as much as he missed his father, he wasn't eager to join him in the afterlife.

As Karina ran forward and attacked one of the assault riders, Glen decided that teamwork would be the way to survive the encounter. He ran over next to the assault rider that Karina had attacked, and was unprepared for the attack that came from it. Thankfully, his reactions were quick enough that he managed to dodge out of the way of the weapon, and after sidestepping around it he swung around in a 180 degree arc, delivering a violent swing at the Assault Rider. "Kill the riders first, they're the ones that will do the most!" he shouted as he braced himself for a counter attack.

Gexln was relieved when R spoke. He had seemed to catch on. If Gexln were to play the part of secret agent though, he'd need one more thing. He reached a hand into his coat and fumbled around until he found what he was looking for. Pulling his hand out of the coat now, a pair of shades came with it. He put them on smoothly and casually, as though he really was a secret agent. He looked at Roe with a sly grin on his face. "Well, If I told you that then I'm afraid I'd have to kill you" he said in response to Roe's question as to why they were there. He was having far too much fun with it.

As Roe said she was going with them, the grin on his face vanished. If she hadn't been taken by Ansem, then it was almost certain she would meet him later, what if Gexln being a Nobody of the darkness attracted Ansem even faster? At the same time though, what was he to tell her? That it was classified information? He had just asked her for information himself, and he knew that she clearly didn't belong in the world they were in. He made a decision, he would hope that R allowed her to go with them, and then he would help her as far as getting off the world, and then that would be it.

Kaxar decided to follow Azurite. She wasn't someone that aggression came naturally to, but fighting was something she knew too well, something she didn't like at all. However, she knew that if she was going to stand a chance at combating the darkness and freeing Gexln from its hold, she would need all the experience and fighting prowess she could get. She still had her keyblade out as she walked behind Azurite.

Caleb was intrigued to see what Eon was going to show them. From what he could tell, a few of the people if not most of them had some kind of weapon that resembled a key. The way they carried it made it look as though it wasn't just a key though, that it was something of great importance. Caleb himself wondered if he would be able to create one for himself, but he decided against it. It would just be another weapon that he had no idea how to wield, it would make things harder for himself. He, too, followed behind Azurite.

Gexln found himself in a completely black and white world, something that struck him as very strange. Have I suddenly gone color blind? he wondered. He then noticed noticed his change of appearance. His arms were deathly thin, as were his legs and it seemed his neck. Thankfully, he still had the same clothing as before, though it too was in black and white (not a particularly big difference there). "The hell is this place R?" he asked. He noticed R seemed a little wary of the huge swirling cornerstone, which sort of made sense seeing as how if what R said was true then it was of light and the heartless himself was darkness. He followed R as he they both walked a short distance away from the cornerstone and was about to ask again where they were, when yet another surprise showed itself.

The girl, Roe she had called herself, looked remarkably similar to Xero. Although, she looked a bit younger and wasn't quite as tall. Was this past Xero? No, she had definitely called herself Roe. Did that mean that this was Xero's somebody? Had she been taken over by Ansem yet? He decided to test it. "Roe, what is all this bullshit you be spewing out of your mouth?" he asked in the language of the darkness. He waited for a response, but didn't seem to know what he was saying. So she hadn't met Ansem, not yet.

Gexln held out his hand, and in it created a small colorless dark firaga, as if to prove that he definitely wasn't normal. Maybe he could find out where he was through Roe. "You're right, we are indeed secret agents. Normally we would have to erase your memory, but I think if you can give us all the information on this place as you possibly can we can overlook protocol just this once, can't we Agent R?" Gexln asked, hoping against hope that R caught onto what he was doing.
Caleb was somewhat surprised, but relieved. He was very relieved to see that Satsujin was fine, although he seemed somewhat..different. As though a weight was lifted from his shoulders almost. "You owe me nothing, Satsujin. Thanks to you, I know more about R now than I did before, and how much of a threat he is" Caleb replied. In his mind, what he spoke was true, and Satsujin indeed owed him nothing.

What Eon had said before was playing on his mind though. Was he as pure-hearted as he tried to be? It was true that he strove to protect those that can not protect themselves, as he always had, but he couldn't deny the fact that there was a small part of him that felt like if he ever met the creature that had destroyed his home all thoughts of protecting others would vanish, to be replaced by fury and bloodlust.

Gexln had been standing there, just listening to the conversation. At the mention of Xero not going, he had to stiffen up a little bit though. He'd grown somewhat used to having her around, and he was partially surprised that he wasn't that one told to stay behind, especially after he flat out told Merlin that he shouldn't trust him. Although, he was the only one that specifically knew where the stone was located, so he reasoned that made him essential, but Merlin didn't know that.

He understood what R had said to Xero, speaking the dark language fluently himself, and wondered just how he planned on getting a message to her should she be needed. He was somewhat dissapointed in R's hesitancy to kill, although he tried not to show it. R was too peaceful for his liking, and while it would certainly help him in his goal to achieve peace, peace was definitely something that Gexln himself didn't like. He saw R nod to him and open the door to the past. He waited until he was certain R wouldn't be able to hear him anymore, before he too spoke in the dark language to Xero. "I'll try to find a way to get you inside, maybe there'll be a way to help with your Ansem problem in the past" he said to her. He then too turned and proceeded through the door.

    [IMG]/center]
Caleb listened to the people there as they spoke. So it seemed that they were in a war over something called Kingdom Hearts, and whatever it was it seemed very important and powerful. Could it have the power to grant wishes? If so, there was a definite interest in Caleb's eyes as he listened. The opportunity to restore his destroyed village was something he most certainly wanted. Caleb summoned a 'Shirase Sword', a blade that symbolised friendship, and showed it clearly to Eon as well as Mickey. "The darkness took my family and friends away from me before, I won't let it do the same to all of you. My blade fights alongside yours" he spoke, allying himself with the lights.

Kaxar watched as first people spoke of the war, and then Caleb offered himself to the lights. Like Caleb, she too knew how much devastation the darkness could call. The girl summoned her keyblade, True Light's Flight, and held it resting on top of Caleb's sword. "I lost my closest friend to the darkness, as well as the only place I ever knew as home, I too will fight against the darkness" Kaxar said, eyes full of hope and determination as she spoke.

Gexln was about to go and get R, so that he could convince Merlin to help them. He was about to, until he saw Xero stomp over to Merlin and demand the old wizard help them. The Nobody couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. Somebody's been hanging around me too much he thought to himself. He turned around and looked over in R's direction. "Hey, R, you might want to come over here before Xero here kills the guy that we need" he called out.

Zane was flicking around the Buster Sword, testing its weight. He was right, Caleb had made an exact replica. Heck, if he hadn't seen Caleb create it in front of him he would have sworn it was the same blade. He walked back around, over to where Fae and Marlene were. To his surprise, Fae was already up and about. "Well, someone's a quick healer" he remarked, impressed at how fast the girl had recovered. It was then that he noticed Marlene grab the table, as though she needed it to support herself. She appeared very unwell. The fact that Fae seemed very worried about the girl was another cause for concern; she looked as though she thought Marlene could die at any moment. Damnit, I used every last drop of my magic trying to slow down Fae's poison! he thought to himself.

"Know about what exactly?" Caleb asked, conveniently arriving back to the area that Marlene and Fae stood at that time. He had been following Zane without a word, still unsure whether he made the right decision to temporarily remove Zane's banishment. The first thing he noticed then was that Marlene was struggling for air, the second was that she seemed to be struggling to stand. Caleb quickly summoned a small stool, big enough for Marlene to sit on, and moved it next to her. "Here, take a seat" he said. He had to remain calm. If the Resistance saw its leader panicking, it could send everyone into a flurry of panic. If only he knew what had caused Marlene to get sick like she was. Maybe the poison that had afflicted Fae was contagious? Had he just put Marlene's life in danger?

In the entrance of the cave, the first thing Glen noticed was that it was a little dark. He didn't like it. He wasn't afraid of the dark in the slightest, but it meant that if Shan Yu was in the cave, then he could probably get the jump on them. He needed to make sure everyone grouped up, for safety's sake. Glen turned around as he walked. He was about to go over and ask Karina to group up a little more, but he stopped as he noticed a small shape whizzing past Karina's feet. Karina jumped a little but made no sound, but if the others saw what it was would they react the same way or make a noise giving them away?

He decided he would grab the mouse and set it moving in a different path. He quietly knelt down on the ground. He then attempted to scoop up the small mouse in his hands, which he succeeded in. "Hey there little guy, easy does it" he said quietly. Suddenly an intense pain shot through his hands; the mouse had bitten him. He dropped it on the ground as he cursed loudly, removing all possibility of entering the cave quietly. "IT BIT ME!" he yelled out. He summoned his keyblade and stabbed at the ground, but the mouse was quicker than it looked, dodging the strike easily. He stabbed again at it, but once more the mouse dodged. He changed his tactic, swinging his keyblade like you would a golf club, and he hit the mouse sending it flying out of the cave at high speed. "Bloody rodent" he muttered, as he turned around and continued walking as though nothing had happened.

The thing is, I'm not asking you to trust me. I'm asking you to trust him" Gexln said, pointing towards R with his right hand. "That guy isn't like me, he doesn't seem to believe in pointless violence. He's working towards a future of peace, and as boring as that sounds to me i'm trying to help him achieve it, now either tell us what we need to know, or get out of our way" Gexln said.

"So we capture the big bad guy, get recognition for it, Ping gets honour or whatever, and we get to leave? Sounds good to me" Glen said. He followed behind the group, hoping that he could at last fight someone he saw as worthwhile. He needed a way to test his strength, and what better way than to take on what was supposedly the strongest guy in that world? Glen certainly couldn't think of one.

As they headed towards a cave, an idea sprung into his mind. "Are you sure that it's actually him in the cave? I mean, have you ever even seen the guy Mushu?" he asked, continuing to walk and keep up with the rest of the party.
