Yeah, Dropbox is pretty easy to use, which is a godsend for me tbh with how prone I am to ~technological incidents~. And you can just PM it to me...
With Dropbox there should be a premade, 'public' folder, and if you put it in there & right click on the file it should let you get a URL to give...
First comes hate, then comes whipping, then comes bodybags for the murder scene
Finished KH3D. Barely missed out on the secret message because I missed one ****ing letter in the dive. Final bosses were pretty nice. ABCN only got aggressive when you got in its face (and it dropped HP orbs after doing the 1 HP left move which was awesome). The penultimate boss was AGGRO AS ****. I would've lost if I were playing on proud lmao. new naruto chapter i had to read like 3 times to understand wtf was happening, but better than last week at least.
on another episode of i didn't mean to essay at 3 in the morning; I kinda disagree. I think anyone is capable of creating a strong character regardless of that character's sex/gender, since it has been done before and, even though it's not at the AAA level, continues within the indie sphere and indiesque games. One of the main themes of Transistor, which was designed by a prominently male team with the exception of Jen Zee [art] and Ashley Barret [vocals], is the main female protagonist's agency, and how even the player themself has control ripped away from them in certain very key moments to emphasize who is in control between the two. Child of Light (oddly enough by Ubisoft montreal tho, and the guy who wrote it is pretty chill from his AMA on the game) tells the story of a young girl which, while simple due to the fairy tale atmosphere of the game and its story, are still endearing and still highlight her maturation through the events she has to overcome and accept. Undoubtedly, I do agree it probably is easier for women to create female characters, as they are more equipped to knowing how to invoke tropes to support their female character, rather than use said character to support the tropes. Male writers I feel can similarly do it, they just need to take a step back first and really think about what qualities their female character has and how it is that this character is expressing them before moving forward (and vice versa for female writers writing male characters). That said, I do still think there should be a lot more female developers within the gaming business. They (and just new talent in general) are something I think a certain company developing a certain game series a certain forum is centered on sorely need, given its latest three attempts at a 'strong' female protagonist. :b Having more female devs will be good because women are very misrepresented in the gaming world (and other groups but the topic is currently laydeez) despite being a good half of the population. Female devs will very much speed up the needed progressive changes currently happenign within the industry, and I know that they can help in getting out a steady and well appreciated stream of non-white male protagonists in every single game (a few is fine, 80% of them is not). But I do think that these current developers are fully capable of making interesting female characters this very minute; they just need to start taking their time and actually think about what it is that they're doing with these characters and giving them a chance, whether it be a main role or even just a side role, to be someone.
I CAN ONLY WISH it ramped up the lameness x10 to become super naruto last week

I don't really have much to add that Misty already addressed, though on male characters in AC (and other games), I don't really see it as too much of an issue if the white male protagonist is continually the protagonist in the game series. Characters like Drake in Uncharted 1-4, Ezio (I have never played an AC so correct me if I'm wrong) in AC 1-3 (????), and Cole in inFamous 1 & 2 aren't really an issue since the first line of those games (and in Uncharted's case, all of them) follow their specific story. In the case of reboots or side games -- anything that leaves room for a new character, basically, the creators should consider telling the story of a different character, someone who isn't in the same...default? as what they've done. AC does have a host of cultural representation, but in terms of protagonists, it's been consistently through European males, when there are so many other people and places to go to in the world! History is so expansive and so wide, there isn't really an excuse to not consider taking a page and face from the Tao dynasty, or Ghana, or reservation life in America, or something else. I do find a lot of history generally interesting, and I'm sure the AC writers/directors do as well, but they shouldn't limit themselves just to what they may know best. They should expand into areas & people that haven't really been explored, and it'd very likely pay off in their favor. Using inFamous as an example again, Second Son and First Light, covering a Native American male and a white female protagonist respectively, don't/aren't going to mark some unholy shift in the game. They're still inFamous, they're still fun games with a good story, and those two are universally loved (on Tumblr anyway) along with Cole. You can tell an interesting story and have an interesting game with anyone or anything, so they (and other game producers) should take that leap and do it. which is why supergiants games da bomb SUNSET OVERDRIVE BEING EXCLUSIVE (for now) IS MY PAIN EA was probably the worst for me, ha. Still pumped for ME4, MiEd, and dat new Bioware IP. ...Whenever they come. They should've let Aisha play some of the games! She sounded excited about them (which is loads better than her telling dick jokes again), but it would've been a much better selling point to let her and the hosts play the games that had gameplay segments so we could get an honest, unscripted feel for the games themselves. Who better to get you hyped for a game than a fellow fan's passion for it? I THANKFULLY MISSED ALL THE TV STUFF, but I wish Sony showed more gameplay. LBP3 was super endearing to me because they actually played the damn game in front of us, lol. Bloodborne and Witcher 3 look sick [ AND I'M SURE CYBERPUNK WILL TOO WHEN WITCHER 3 IS FINALLY DONE B) ] Nintendo showed all gameplay and the Treehouse segments in the main E3 days were great, so they won the show imo. Still not too interested in a Wii U, but it's definitely looking more appealing after this.
EXCUSE U
From what I've read about it, it was to (apparently) keep the graphics for the PC version on par with, or close enough to, the console versions. But yeah, I agree. It's still a silly thing to do imo because this doesn't apply for the PS3 version compared to the PS4 version. They shouldn't downscale one version just to be able to laud another as 'amazing next gen quality''.
