Holy cow! I was so impressed with what I saw. I only saw one trailer a few weeks ago, and it was my father who was dying to see it. I knew very little going in, but it was so great. Five minutes in, I knew I would enjoy this movie and would want to buy it on blu-ray.(and all that is character stuff).

And if you couldn't tell, I haven't read the book.

This movie is living proof that you can tell a great, meaniful, and powerful story that involves mindless fighting between aliens and humans piloting machines.

Posting my halloween costume. It's an interpretation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. My sister did the make up, and I think it came out quite well.

I'm probably not going to trick 'r treat this year. My town is doing a cool festival kind of thing; three haunted houses, two scare zones, and live music sounds pretty fun for me this year. Although, I would have fun terrifying children.

I've tried to do it a number of times before. I took a computer class both in high school and in college that focused around tricks of using stuff like Word and Excel. I mainly wanted to use the spreadsheet to keep track of my DVD collection (since I am really into movies). I'd list the titles, what kind of format I had it under (DVD, Blu-Ray, digital download, etc.) and other stuff. I would mainly use it for things like Black Friday, when I'm looking for movies that are cheap and are not in my collection.

This should be a good year if I really get to work on it.

Had a couple of classes: Creative writing (covering creative non-fiction) and British Lit (covering Dracula, how appropriate). My dad treated me to lunch today, so now I have extra cash left over for a Halloween festival tomorrow. Just got back from watching Trick 'r Treat (great movie; a necessary watch for this time of year) and am about to head to play rehersals in less than an hour.

    Can't wait for tomorrow!

I have yet to pick up my bandanna, but I've already seen people running around, and all I can think is "HOLY ****ING CHRIST! WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?!" My school doesn't allow Nerf guns, and I'm not sure if the school will provide us with "weapons" (balled up socks) upon pick up. I'm half tempted to use the socks on my feet, but that just seems very odd.

So, any tips on how to outrun people who are taller and/or quicker than me?

This poem I wrote a while ago, but posting it today because it is the one-year anniversary of my heart transplant. A while back, I named the heart that I received since I don't know the identity of the person who gave me my heart.

    Her name means...

    By Joseluis Solorzano

The name I gave her means Village Protector,
The warrior, whatever the challenge may be. She
battles whatever attempts to harm her village, let it
be disaster, disease, or demons on the inside.
She has become my protector, a guardian
who appeared as sudden as a lightning spark through
the Heavens and the Earth, creating a beautiful
but terrifying image that attracts our eye. She comes
to those who need her the most, taking on
the identity of the person she guards.
The name I gave her also means "mass of fire"
similar to the fate of the Phoenix.
The chick rises from the ashes of the world. Before
she can rise though, the scarlet bird must set fire her
majestic wings, inclosing itself in a ball
full of flames and pain. Through this, life
starts again, allowing the new body
to fly higher than before possible.
That's why her name is Homura,
which translates to "heart of fire"
The name I gave my heart,
Homura, in order to save me, caused a scar
that will be a constant reminder of her sacrifice.
I gave this name to a woman who is a perfect stranger,
to honor her with a name that matches
not my own struggle, but the power of her love.
My constant guardian protects me, becoming a
"Heart of fire" that never stops beating, always
going, headed on the next adventure,
Because of her, our wings will soar, blazing the
blackened skies with a fire that may outmatch
the terror and beauty of the lightning.

I told you guys that I was getting my new heart. It's hard to believe that time has moved by so quickly. While not every day has been perfect, I'm glad that I got my new heart. I'm also glad to be a part of a supportive community that help me through this as well as helping with the healing process. Thanks a lot KHV!!

Yeah. His adaption to the new world was slightly touched on in The Avengers, but I can't wait to see how exactly that it will effect the character in general. I don't want a dark Captain, I just want to see him more explored.
