1) Because it's necessary? A game needs mini-games. Where else would the mini-game world go? Series staple. Do people really not like that? Hmm.
4) Ooh, I do hope so! Remember how they hyped up the battle of the 1000 heartless, advertising it with behemoths and wyverns and whatnot, but it ended up having system limitations? Bet there ain't no system limitations this time. Yeah, baby.
Final boss could be Gothel. She has a dagger, and is ambiguously a witch. Kingdom Hearts could just make her less-ambiguously a witch. I mean... probably not, it's been ages since they gave magical powers to a Disney character that didn't already have them, and they've never done that for a villain, but... a guy can hope...
Either that's not Mandy Moore, or that is Mandy Moore and she's really out of it. Kinda hard to tell with Kingdom Hearts' standards of voice work. The direction has never been the best. I'm disappointed to see them just reenacting moments from the movie, but at least they're doing it a lot better than KH usually does; they definitely put a lot of work into doing so.
Deep Space is currently the only KH world to consist entirely of the original cast; I think the Tangled and Frozen worlds have potential to join it. Peculiar that Mandy Moore wasn't mentioned, though. Maybe they're having trouble working it into her schedule, I remember one trailer was almost fully dubbed into English but Rapunzel wasn't.
Buzz Lightyear's current not-Allen voice actor since the Toy Story 3 video game has been Mike MacRae, so that's probably our guy here.
I'm not surprised. I think every series-original character will come back. I mean, it wouldn't make much sense at all if we didn't at least get to shed some light on Larxene, Marluxia, Luxord, and Demyx. Not KH's style to just leave them as the enigmatic outliers of the Org.
Fun tidbit: Shanelle Gray and Ariel Winter, who played young Kairi in BBS? Sisters. Total coincidence that they both became KH cast members.
Ah, good. Wouldn't be the same if we had the finale without him. Horrible man, James Woods, but a good performer, we do need him to be Hades. The one time he couldn't make it in, House of Villains, Rob Paulsen played Hades and he wasn't even close.
And of course he doesn't even know the title of the series. Not surprising. To be fair, he's not the first person I've seen assume the somewhat Engrishy title is Kingdom of Hearts.
Still, though. An inordinately horrible man. But I've come to terms with the fact that a lot of great artists are bad people and not let it impede my enjoyment of genuinely enriching art. At least video game acting doesn't pay royalties so we're not paying him by buying KH3.
Fantastic new theme song, and the new footage is spectacular. Although if Hercules is the only returning world AND the only traditional-animation world, that's... well, it's a bit lopsided. I'll be a bit put off if that's the case. Also if it's the only world with one guest party member. I mean, having Woody and Buzz along simultaneously is great, but Mike Wazowski is someone I'd class as a non-combatant. I'd have gone with only Sulley. And also only Rapunzel.
And I just about laughed out loud when I realized Sora, Donald, and Goofy completely don't recognize Marluxia. Never even learned about him after the fact, eh? And Vanitas and Sora finally get some interaction... I can't wait to hear Haley Joel Osment knock that out of the park, he's so good and unique in both roles.
And did I spot an Ariel summon? Intriguing...
This year, people. It's really happening this year...
Ah, so Big Hero 6 was the last world they decided to feature, even though it was only the third revealed. That makes a lot of sense. I just realized that Big Hero 6 didn't even exist when the first KH3 trailer came out.
Fewer worlds than KH2? Awww, that's disappointing. Denser is nice, but... still. If it's really going to be as massive as they claim, so massive that all three titles on 2.8 were originally intended to be part of it and yet it's STILL the biggest game in the series, I kind of wanted that to mean bigger quantity. So... 4 Disney worlds down, less than 8 left to be revealed. Not enough... :'(
As an aside, I've been watching a lot of analyses and reactions to the trailer, and they all seem to be pleasantly surprised that the Toy Story world doesn't take place entirely in Andy's room. It's like... they know that every Toy Story movie involves leaving Andy's room, right?
Ooh, I hadn't thought about. About an actual established character we haven't played as yet. I meant an entirely new character who gets introduced in KH3... we haven't had any hints of that yet, but given how impossibly huge KH3 is shaping up to be, completely new characters wouldn't be unexpected. But maybe it's better off without them. Unless you count human Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, and Larxene as new characters, and they gotta do that before the saga ends, right?
My impulse was also either Riku or Aqua. But... we've been both of them fairly recently, as KH3D turned out to be Riku's day in the spotlight and we've just been Aqua in 0.2... perhaps it'll be someone entirely new, an equivalent to starting out KH2 as Roxas. It's been a while since new characters have been introduced into the mix.
