    Download Kingdom Hearts Extractors here:
    http://hotfile.com/dl/89929144/a9c2cd6/Kingdom_Hearts_Extractors.zip.html

There is an extractor for every FMV from each Kingdom Hearts disc. This includes:

    Kingdom Hearts (NTSC - U)
    • PreIntro
    • Intro
    • Ending
    • Secret Ending

    Kingdom Hearts (NTSC - J)
    • PreIntro
    • Intro
    • Ending
    • Secret Ending

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix (NTSC - J)
    • PreIntro
    • Intro
    • Ending
    • Secret Ending
    • FFX-2 Trailer

    Notes:
    • Any other sequences in the games were in-game rendered and would require a video capture card and playing the game.

    • The filenames outputted by each extractor is the same name, so watch for overwriting (I was just too lazy to change that around).

    • Resolutions of the video files are approximately right, but you may want to compare to 4:3 standards to resize when encoding and muxing.

    • This extracts like a PSS, meaning that the audio and video are separate and require muxing into one whole file.

    • I have tested each one myself, but there may be bugs or errors so please report them to me if found so I can fix them.

    • This delivers the best quality these video files can ever be presented since you are extracting from the source.

Thanks, somehow i thought this would get attention from a forum based around a website devoted to KH-Vids. But I guess there aren't enough people interested in this kind of thing.

Ha. As I said, techy nonsense.

Why yes I do, and quite a few others. Maybe we can get a good recommendations thread going over in Movies&Media.

    Oh Hai Der

    Hi, i'm new obviously.

I've been a fan of KH since back in 2002, and have played through KH, KH:COM, KH2, and KH Re:COM. Regrettably i have not had the chance to play any of the Final Mix versions due to my lack of a japanese system.

I've always been interested in techy nonsense, so I find it fun to dissect the games. For example getting the 3D models or FMVs extracted from the discs, which isn't always easy. And extracting FMV's goes with the fact that i'm a video/audio -phile, so quality and bitrate mean way too much to me.

On a non-KH related note, I love electro/dance/house music, and aggregate way too many mp3's from blogs, so my music collection never goes stale.

Note: This topic is assuming you have bought your copy of Kingdom Hearts, stealing is bad mmk. Also this topic is probably only for tech-savvy individuals or those willing to learn.

This post is for the video and audio -philes out there that want to get their video and audio from the source, as far as I know these are the first extractors to be made that extract this many of the FMVs straight off the original game discs.

Thank you KHVids for supplying a wonderful cutscene archive, but understandably for the sake of bandwidth usage and getting the videos to as many people as possible, the video isn't identical to the source in quality.

Since release, I've been trying to extract the major (non in-game rendered) cutscenes from my copy of Kingdom Hearts, and since they used Huffman Compression instead of the normal PSS this was quite a challenge, but thanks to fao project, ffxdean (user from another forum), and myself; there is now a set of extractors so you can finally have those FMV's you've wanted from your NTSC-U copy of Kingdom Hearts and NTSC-J Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.

Kingdom Hearts (NTSC-U) and Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (NTSC-J) Extractors:
    >>Download Here<<

    Extracts:

--Kingdom Hearts (NTSC-U) (Original North American release of the first game)
    ---Intro
    ---Ending
    ---Secret Ending
    ---PreIntro

--Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (NTSC-J) (Original Japanese release of the first Final Mix game)
    ---Intro
    ---Ending
    ---Secret Ending
    ---PreIntro
    ---FFX2 Trailer

The programs belong to fao project and myself for authoring them.

These are extractors for the original US Kingdom Hearts and JAP Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, despite the misconception that it says "kh2mov" that means "kh to mov" just in shorthand since the second Kingdom Hearts wasn't even released before the first extractor was made.

Note: For both they extract to the wrong resolution, also some playing speed and duration time issues occurred, which also happens with KH2 FMV's but once the video files are re-encoded this is all fixed. (For example: I converted the video file to AVI in Megui making sure to also resize to the correct resolution, then muxed the AVI with the WAV audio using Megui and it all played at the correct speed, resolution, and showed the correct play time. The quality was well retained even at 2x resolution in Media Player Classic.)
    Re-encoding Programs to look into:
MeGUI (to AVI) - common video format
TMPGEnc (to MPEG-2) - retains original MPEG-2 format
    Resolutions:
Intro, Ending, PreIntro and Secret Ending JAP are PAL 4:3 resolutions
Secret Ending US is PAL 16:9 resolution

Extracting the FMV's from KH2(US/JAP/PAL), KH Re:COM(US/JAP/PAL), and KH2FM+(JAP) is possible, but the process is entirely different, if requested enough I'll post a tutorial.

Also Feedback encouraged, even just confirmation that they are in fact working.
