Is it a bad thing? I wouldn't say so, all the time. Sometimes you have things you're uncomfortable telling others, and that's okay. Sometimes it'll worry or upset them if you tell them, so it's better to stay quiet about some things.
It's also a natural thing to do, so don't worry about it.
