If I remember correctly, Trillix was the one who was sitting on files that were needed back when crazycatz00 and co. were the ones running this; after basically disappearing, progress slowed and here we are.

I'd suggest talking with one of the moderators about getting the new thread made. Before you do so, make sure that you guys have info about what your build is, what all it has and why it's different from the ones floating around the internet. This thread is impossible to navigate just about with so many people coming and going over the last few years.

Are you still looking at a 4:3 and widescreen release? My old tv would appreciate it.

To kind of piggyback off of the above user, I'm also trying to make use of that 4:3 code for crazycatz00's build. However, I'm hitting snags due to how I'm set up and I'm hoping someone here can help.

Near as I can tell, I should just be able to use the master/enable code in the OP and then use this code:
... to more or less remove the 16:9 patching, minus what/window adjustments were made. My problem is that I am using OPL 9.2 (on a fat PS2) via usb (a flashdrive to be specific) to play the game as of right now and don't really know of a way to apply the codes to the game. I did find an older build of OPL that included a cheat engine called ps2rd but it requires the codes to be formatted in raw format to work as well be saved as a ".cht" file along with the enable code; as far as I can tell, it already IS in raw formatting, but it doesn't work. So I'm stuck; any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I don't even need to use this method to work, so long as the end result is the same.

KH1 just isn't flexible to work with like KH2 turned out to be and a small team of fans isn't Square Enix. The tools are still available online, as far as I know, so technically anyone with the knowhow could probably iron-out the issues if they wanted to.

Try that one. Click where it says "Import" with the down pointing arrow, then click download. Same exact files as the ones posted in the OP. Follow the directions in the OP and you should be good to go! Just be wary of the issues like the buggy treasure boxes not saying what's inside them, and Ursula's cauldron bug and you *should* be set.

Also, just remember that Traverse-Town and Hollow Bastion weren't released in that build of the translation, so all the text will be scrambled blocks. Supposedly Sora (the user) has a more "complete" version of the translation available on his blog but I can't speak for the quality or if it's consistent with the team's work here.

    EDIT:
Oh, and Oogie's first boss fight. Apparently there's a bug with it too with the roulette floor.

Been kind of passively wondering this myself.Sora's not posted anything on his Youtube for some time, Crazycat's not been around for longer still. Dunno. It's finished enough to be service-able if you feel like switching between the iso files but it still bothers me that the crashes are happening and the boss glitches happen for some reason.

There was progress. The original team had done a large chunk of it, too. Then, some of them suddenly lost interest and/or disappeared with the files they were working on and the project stalled and died. Sora kept having his own version going alongside it for whatever reason, and now he's decided to start all over again.

    I don't even.

    I'm disappointed too.

While I do like seeing progress, I'm just confused as to why exwctly you're starting over. That was a lot of work done by other people and unless your font and elf are going to be totally different from what's already been done, I don't understand why yo can't at least reuse what exists already.

Are you going to leave the cutscenes cropped or will you make them fullscreen like crazycatz did?

I'm just asking because I feel like with a little foresight the project can get finished quicker and you won't have to redo a lot of work.

Heh, I feel stupid now. I had a playthrough goimg where I saved every time I encounted a save point (trying to not backtrack), I suppose your way of one per world/revisit is better.

If I remember right I didn't have (m)any crashing issues on my Ps2 when I last played. Just a lot of strings missing or showing incorrectly.

I know that, I'm just saying that KH3 will more than likely be my jumping off point. My personal fanon discontinuity.

If it continues on like Final Fantasy where there's similar themes but it's own arc and story, that's fine. I'm just impatient after so many years, is all.

I never said it was surprising or fair. I know it's been a comon trend for a loooooooooong time now but I personally don't like it being done on relatively recent games. When the Last of Us was ported over to PS4 I felt the same way I do now.

And no, I don't expect people to watch cutscenes on their own on Youtube.

I'm just a fan boy who is upset wiyh something he can't change and I'm sorry. Honestly I am just exhausted with Kingdom Hearts as a series and I want the Xehanort story to be over so I can finally be done with it. This 2.9 stuff just feels to me like a holding pattern to drum up even more money and hype on something that already has buckets of cash and over a decade of built up hype.

I for one am not thrilled in the slightest. I really truly feel like they're just wasting time now.

I absolutely don't regret buying my portable KH games. DDD was my first 3DS game, in fact. But I feel annoyed that they're bundling and rereleasing a game that, honestly, isn't that old. When I saw the announcement I let out a sigh of "really?"

It's just my inner Nintendo fan, but I honestly thought that if DDD were to be brought to a console that the Wii U was a shoe-in for the console destination. Disappointment comes again. :\

Not to mention the naming scheme. Final Chapter Prologue. 2.8. Back Cover. Geez.

For the sake of full disclosure, I've been doing a playthrough of KH1 with one of the Sora retextures, and the facial expressions do work for the most part but the seams are visible when being used.

Also, I missed the chance to snap a picture, but Sora has his eyes closed when he and Cloud meet at the Games in Herc's world.

Just a minor bug for those who might use the mods.

Which file is responsible for abilities? A few of Tarzan's skills overlap like this. Edited with more unrated pictures.
