Details: The video was very upbeat and the flow was very pleasant. The connection between a ‘new life’ and the roles between Sora and Roxas has an uncanny feel and fits the song perfectly.

Details: This was surprisingly amusing, a very upbeat and vertigo-like video. Fits perfectly with Roxas’ confusion about who he is in Twilight Town.

Details: Very powerful and deep video about the struggles between Sora and Kairi, as if everything is a ‘hurricane.’ Really beautiful transitions, and marvelous use of in game quotes.

Hello there KH-Vidians. Mixt here as a first time Top 5 host. And what a week it was. I'm always impressed at what our editors can do, and this week was not an easy pick. We ran the gambit from upbeat and flashy to slow and pensive.

Details: A nicely done collab where both parties melded together very well. It would have been nice to see some video softening to mask the aliasing (particularly on zoomed shots), but that is easier said than done without just making it blurry.

2. Ocean Avenue

Song: Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard
Details: A rather overused song in the AMV world, but this video did a very nice job with it. There were a few points where it felt to me like the video's flow was out pacing the song's, but the lyric matching and beat matching were very well done. Plus it managed to cover a wide array of story angles and tie them all together without feeling too much like it was jumping around. I would mostly say to tone the effects down a bit as there is a fine line between pretty and distracting.

Details: A very fitting song to the KH series. The flow was a nice match and there was a nice consistent tone. However I would have liked to see more variety in the clips, and the flash effects often seemed too frequent and strong especially on the black.

Details: A very serious video to tug at your heartstrings, and some of the better audio editing I've seen in awhile. Unfortunately the clips seemed to mostly be there to match tone and not meaning. And despite the text being minimalistic it's placement and constant presence made it hard to not just read through the video.

Details: This video had some nice effects, and good beat matching. There were just two issues I found that stopped it from being higher on the list. First is that the video was too short focus on three characters, and thus there didn't seem to be much meaning behind it. Second, some of the effects seemed hastily added and ended up breaking flow more than adding emphasis.

Details: I really liked how the scenes matched the lyrics (e.g. transition to BBS when the star was falling). I also felt the song was very fitting to the KH as a whole -- Sora depending on his friends and everyone supporting each other nomatter who or what got in the way.

Details: SoKai video hnnnnnnnggg. That being said, the video's contrast seemed pretty high with the darkened lighting, but the video was very well done! I especially enjoyed the breaks that used Sora and Kairi's final lines in KH1, it was a very nice touch.

Details: I thought the video was good. Some of the scenes seemed to drag a bit, such as Aqua talking to Ven in radiant garden. The music was very good with the scenes, however, the audio from the games had the game BGM in it and together it sounded a bit awkward. Nonetheless, very cool!

Details: I felt the song was very fitting with the focus of your video Sora & Kairi)! The editing was well done, and I think my only qualm is the purple tint to the video -- it made everything a bit too saturated, but very good!

What an I say? There was drama, there was action, there was comedy and there bass... lots of bass! This week of judging for the Top 5, something I've only done once before, has really shown me the progress the community here on KHV has made over time. The individual creativity of every participant was obvious, everyone had their own style and voice, and what they wanted to bring forward to the table. This was really tough, it's taken me a while to weigh up who was slightly above the other for me. IN the end I got there and here we have our Top 5!

1. Kingdom Hearts Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Song: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Theme
Details: This nostalgia filled video from the title alone made me stop and think 'Well this is going to be bad' and I was so far away from that in the end, as is obvious by being number one on my list. This video faithfully recreates the the opening of the original Power Rangers with Kingdom Hearts character counterparts, and they all fit in really well to the Power Ranger theme. I smiled throughout, even laughed near the end when Roxas was the Green Ranger, ha!
It was also well put together, the scenes chosen were appropriate for the theme, the edit remaining faithful to my childhood series, I just love it and it deserves the top for its pure quality deliverance and great ability to work with two conflicting entertainment mediums.

Details: The grainy filter and pumping bass really set up the intensity of the potential this video was giving off. The key cutscene of Sora and Riku first together was made especially dramatic by the fantastic use of drum and bass, the foreign kind of song to the KH universe ended up being a good match! Siri dictating the beginning of a Kingdom Hearts fuelled rave set me going, and if this is a preview, I can't wait to see the full thing!

Details: I enjoyed the amount of combinations here of editing techniquea that helped this video be dramatic and powerful, from the filttering, use of zoom, lyrics being in time with the music, and many others. It lights up the conflict in Sora and how he deals with it in a way I've never properly seen in the games and makes this something of an eye opener to me. Great work on it indeed!

4.Perfect Two- Riku and Aqua

Details: Now this video took me aback at first. I'd never seen a pairing of characters that have never met in the games properly, not to mention the age difference, ha. Yet, the song, the use of scenes that are reminiscent of TV hows where couples are really meant for each other actually made me think this was highly possible and lovely together. That feat alone meant this vid was going to get somewhere on this TOp 5! However, the posing of Riku and Aqua into scenes the other is in, though good for a majority, looked very cut and paste like at times. Though with the restrictions in place this is understandable, along with the ambition to try something this ambitious made me put it up in the charts.

5.Hᴏᴘᴇ

Details: This sweet and almost tragic video encompassed friendship, love and dreams very well, the etheral effect of memories that linger in moments that have passed us by. I liked the character's lines presented in an echoic and ghostly manner, yet at times the singing and speaking parts didn't flow very well, and I found myself wanting more at the end from this video, almost as if it was cut off too soon. Still the beauty of it and the well done visuals earned it a spot up here for me.

Details: This was so sharp and beautiful to watch. I'm always very picky with text on the screen but here you pulled it off beautifully and it fitted in well with the flow of the tune. I really liked the story behind it as it gave the entire piece more meaning and the song complemented the pain the trio go through. I just loved how you fitted the clips in with the music. Well done!

Details: When I saw that you used this song I was so happy (Poets of the Fall are just exceptional in my opinion) and you did the song justice. The collab was smooth and, although you could tell the two editors apart, they still complemented each other brilliantly. There were a few bits where I wanted the clips to move a bit faster in time with the music and it didn't but that was all I could really say about it. Nice collaboration.

Details: I loved the effects used on this one, it was smooth and and the blue was just lovely. I felt the ending on a still felt a little incomplete and I wished it was used for credits or something as opposed to just filling the song. Still a good piece and the collab was also nicely sewn together.
