II.8 Final Chapter Prologue

While discussing 'Dissidia Final Fantasy' in a livestream, Kingdom Hearts director, Tetsuya Nomura, talked a bit about his upcoming projects, mentioning that 'Kingdom Hearts' was currently being recorded. Although Nomura didn't specify which 'Kingdom Hearts' he was talking about, it's most definitely 'Kingdom Hearts III' as it's safe to assume that most, if not all, of the recording for '2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue' must have been completed by now given it's release coming soon in January. And now that recording is taking place, there is a chance that the next KH3 trailer will have a lot more cutscenes included.

Square-Enix's press site released a batch of high quality screenshots from 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD FCP', giving us a glimpse of how good the game will look upon release:



In addition to the screenshots, three HQ renders of Sora and Riku in DDD HD as well as Chirithy of χ[chi] fame were also released:

The latest issue of Famitsu Magazine featured 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue', containing screenshots from yesterday's trailer, plus a few new gameplay images from DDD HD (where there appears to be a brand new elephant Dream Eater), as well as our first good look at Chirithy in χ[chi] Back Cover:

Hot of the heels of a new TGS trailer, Square Enix has also released the boxart for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 2.8 release.


Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue releases on Jan. 12, 2017 in Japan and Jan. 24, 2017 in US/Europe.

As noted yesterday Square Enix has released a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2.8! The trailer originally was showed during Sony's Pre-TGS conference and includes a new remix of Simple and Clean, -Ray of Hope Mix-, as well as confirms a release date of January 12, 2017 in Japan and January 24th, 2017 in the US and Europe.
