So me and a bunch of my friends are driving up to ShutoCon tomorrow and it's going to be mY FIRST CON EVER AND I'M SO EXCITED AND I'M GOING TO POST ALL OF THE THINGS HERE AND ON TUMBLR AND ON FACEBOOK AND AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHFDGHSDGFHSFGJHGFDJHDGJFDGJHDFHGJGFDHICANT
'KAY SO A lot more of my friends than I had anticipated wound up going to Shutocon! Unfortunately, I have pictures of very few of them, but I fully anticipate more to appear on the internet somewhere. BUT ANYWAY My friend, cosplaying as Rose Tyler, picked me up at 10:30 in the morning, and then we went to pick up two other friends—one, my girlfriend, dressed as the Tenth Doctor, and the other, a freshmen we befriended, dressed as Howl. With the driving time after that, we got to the con between 12 and 12:30. My friends that drove with me had all pre-registered, but I had to get in line to pay at the door. There, we met a bunch of our other friends that had left earlier than us and gotten there before us—there was one friend dressed as The Master, another dressed as Kakuzu, another dressed as Kenny from South Park (with frighteningly good blood makeup), and another dressed as Zacharie from...something. There was a mask involved. I don't know. I was dressed as the Eleventh Doctor. So we all walked around for a while, eating and taking pictures and hugging strangers and hanging out, until the first panel, explaining the rules and whatnot, which was cool. A Deadpool cosplayer was MCing and told a bunch of science jokes throughout. After that, we did more walking around and whatnot before the Artists' Alley opened! We actually made multiple visits there, and I only wound up buying a $5 dango plushie from CleanCanvas. I did not take a picture of my dango, so here's a picture from their website. There was a ton of cool stuff to buy, and I REALLY wished I had more than $10 to spend. After our first visit to the Alley, we loitered around some more to kill time before a panel (which wound up being the only actual panel we went to all day), which was a great, funny panel run by Elemental Photos, about how to get cosplay pictures that don't suck. After that was more loitering, more pictures, more Alley browsing, until the official Shutocon Opening Ceremonies, where they introduced all of the guests and artists and people (the reunion for the con was Dragonball, so there were a ton of voice actors, including Chris Sabat, Sean Schemmel, and Greg Ayres) and gave away prizes—none of which I won, to my dismay. After that, we ate dinner and loitered more and I SWEAR THIS WAS MORE INTERESTING THAN I'M MAKING IT SOUND. HERE, JUST TAKE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES. Spoiler: BEHOLD Me and an Eighth Doctor cosplayer! A Red cosplayer! Male!Chell! My personal favorite picture, and not because of the amazing Master Chief cosplay. A fantastic Sora cospay! An Asuna cosplayer! I got bored and took a picture from upstairs. A Kirito cosplayer! Doctors! Me, a Ten, my Ten, another Eleven, and a Four! (I blinked... ;_;) I meant to get just Roxas, but wound up getting Fluttershy and Link, too! This wAS REALLY SCARY BECAUSE THEY WERE JUST CASUALLY WALKING PAST AND I PULLED OUT MY CAMERA FOR A PICTURE AND THEN BAM THEY WHIPPED THE GUN OUT AND POINTED IT AT ME AND I ALMOST SOILED MYSELF Here are a couple of fem!Doctors we met! An Axel (or Lea?) cosplayer! A Zero Suit Samus cosplayer! A No-Face cosplayer! They had bath tokens AND gold, and did the little hand flick perfectly! Me, my Ten, and a Nine cosplayer! WE MET THESE PEOPLE AND THEY WERE SUPER COOL AND WE HUNG OUT WITH THEM MOST OF THE CON. (Not-Tom Hiddleston, Eleven, and two characters I don't know BUT THEY WERE COOL.) A bunch of Legend of Zelda fans and cosplayers that were chilling and playing their ocarinas! A couple more Kirito cosplayers! An LoK group cosplay in the Artists' Alley! Some more of the friends we made, waiting for the Opening Ceremonies to start! Deadpool! THERE WAS A WEEPING ANGEL COSPLAYER. IT WAS REALLY COOL AND MILDLY TERRIFYING. A BUNCH OF DOCTOR COSPLAYERS AND OTHER PEOPLE HAD A FIFTEEN-MINUTE STANDOFF WITH HER WHERE SHE WOULD RANDOMLY SWITCH TARGETS AND FOCUS ON JUST ONE PERSON. One of the best cosplay groups the whole day! (Suki, Merida, Sora, Sokka, someone I asked who their cosplay was of then promptly forgot, and Kairi.) A Kirito/Asuna couple~ /// A Kiki cosplayer! I wonder where her Jiji was... Zelda and Sheik! ...plus Link and...someone. A Sora/Kairi couple asdfghjkljhgfdh; NiGHTS! My Ten and Rose, plus another Eleven! A video I took of an impromptu dance party that kinda just happened. xD Me and my friends decided to be Satan. : D A license plate I saw in the parking lot. I meant to take a stalker picture of my Ten on the car ride home, but discovered that I'd taken a picture of David Tennant instead...
