Hi thar

    equals

    and
Hi thar

    equals

    Hi thar

As you can see (unless it's just me), the text inside each window is centered, but the window itself does not move. Is this adjustable? 'Cause this has been excruciating for certain uses where I wanted to align these windows with other forms of content.

I was able to reproduce it here, where no add-ons are on installed.

It might be intentional, but I've created a bug report here to check.

So that's just a XenForo thing? That's kinda scary, hope there's a way to change it.

It'd also be nice if I could center tabs & tables but I won't hold my breath on that 'cause it seems like it'd be much harder.

    Probably, yeah.

Tabs and tables might be more complicated because they're custom BB codes and not part of the core.

Right, plus there's the fact that all the text inside them would be centered as well, which might not be as desireable in that case.

Ah hell. Somebody seems to be pressing the issue but I don't have high hopes. Unless we can implement a solution independently.

Pretty sure there's something I can do about it, I'll try to have a look when I'm not on my phone

It would make me so happy if the box could be alligned as well, it annoyed me so much in my signature that not everything was centered that I had to remove them. If this was fixed I would be incredibly happy : D

    This^
It would just make formatting look cleaner, in my opinion. Especially for those of us who use a lot of formatting for whatever reason.

Okay so because of the way quote & center bbcodes work (as well as just css in general), it's difficult to hack together a solution to this. A very simple approach would be just making quotes & spoilers fill the entire post, like I've just done. Is this an agreeable resolution?

    Works for me. :)

Edit: There is one problem now, though. The "New" indicator:

this isn't a problem, it's meant to be a ribbon that sits above the content. Overlapping =/= obstructing

Uh, maybe you could elaborate, because I've never been able to understand what the whole "=/=" means. :x

All "=/=" means is "does not equal." So what Misty's saying is "Overlapping does not equal obstructing." Which I agree with.

WOO NEW CENTERING LOOKS GREAT BLESS YOU BASED ADMIN

In that case, I also agree, but manipulating the CSS with Inspect Element, if the margin is changed from margin: -5px -25px 5px 5px to margin: -21px -25px 5px 5px, it puts it above the box. Then all we'd have to do is get rid of the "tail" so it doesn't look as weird.

I won't post the CSS since Misty doesn't like that, but changing the margin results in this:

Mm... I'm guessing there's no way to manipulate the size of the text box manually? If so, this is fine by me. Can't really complain since this is the way it used to look, and I had no problems with it then.

It's... complicated lol. Centering blocks with CSS isn't done with the same code for text, and manipulating the quote boxes to utilize the text code creates other issues which are difficult to work around. Basically what I said, it'd be hacking together a solution.
